  1. Think it may be true.....since Nelson I haven't even untaped the bike and it is still sitting on the trailer.
  2. fucked up beyond all recognition/recovery
  3. how about summing it up in one word: FUBAR....and it has nothing to do with the currently elected face of the state.
  4. I guess I'm now a maybe....sister wants me to come visit in early October which just happens to fall in line with a trackday at Carolina Motorsports Park on the 6th and 7th.
  5. yeah, I'll shoot my 10-22 without ear protection, but I won't shoot a .22 pistol....made that mistake once and that was enough. I've been thinking of picking up a .22 pistol, but the thought of having to go to a range to shoot kills the idea. Miss being able to shoot off my back porch in PA.
  6. Gsg1911-22 Buddy has one we dump ammo through.
  7. That would be too much fun. Watch the opposite wingtip....from that angle you can see how much the wings flex under load
  8. Thats OK, if I'm not using my legs and feet for stability, they will be free to use as a drag brake.
  9. Wish it was closer, paintball is so much fun
  10. That completely explains the lack of brake dust on the rims!
  11. You just gave me a great idea, I'm going to use Velcro as stomp grips. Now I just need to find someone to stitch it onto my suit
  12. I have one requirement though, you have to give me all your secrets to keeping it so damn clean
  13. No need, I'll buy it off you for what you paid
  14. You prof is half right. Inertia is causing the "g" force you feel going around the turn. The bike and your body want to continue in a straight line. Friction is acting as a centripetal force and causing the bike to turn around the radius. It is a balance between friction and inertia that hold the bike up. Without friction you would go in a straight line and without inertia you would fall into every turn.
  15. you see, the real way you turn a motorcycle is to put your right foot in, you put your right foot out, you put your right foot in and you shake it all about. You do the hokie pokie and you turn yourself about.
  16. that was one of my first questions when watching the video....there has to be some safety mechanism to keep the boat from going WOT with no one in control.
  17. no matter the conditions :rip:
  18. Straight up FTW....till you lose traction or see an obstacle, and you are fucked. Leaned in you can straighten the bike up, giving more traction while still turning, decelerating, and staying on the road. Yay stompgrip vs rearset thread....whats up next? counter steering?
  19. In the previous pic his thigh is under the ledge of the tank....giving stability. even more OT....."the pace" is a good read, but it teaches some stupid shit as well.....dont lean in, because it will look like you are going fast. Appearances be damned, I'd rather have the safety margin of leaning in.
  20. Oh yeah, while we are so far off topic, you mentioned about gearing.....I've got a 50t rear sprocket if you want to give it a shot. I've got a chain to fit and a 16t front sprocket too, but they are in PA. I'll snag them if I make my way back there before PIRC.
  21. jelly of the knee draggers? even with the extra expense, that just sounds too cool to let up
  22. going by the time of my gopro, I ran a :26 during the final open session of novice...ape hanging and only touching the brakes before turn 13
  23. http://youtu.be/SuW0pTykohs?t=2m49s Theres a few seconds of me riding, critique my form if you like. It's not the greatest, but I'd say it is far from hanging off to put my knee down. Later in the day with higher speeds I was leaning off a little more...but still nowhere near what I'd consider hanging off. I'd rather go fast and have fun then be worried about scrapping a piece of plastic on the ground.
  24. all I know is I sat on a R6 and my leg fit tight to "lip" on the tank and felt secure...with my gsxr I have to flex my calf to anywhere close to the same feeling. While in a turn, if I stretch my leg out to get it planted into the tank the bike feels much more stable than if I let my leg relax. BTW Craig, thanks for the tips....I tried moving the inside elbow a little and it made a huge difference.
  25. ^ half of youtube wouldn't exist if people followed rule #1
