  1. Their price is $185 for a day, $355 for 2. I'd love to go, but I'll be burning up at least a couple vacation days at mid-ohio....and those are already paid for.
  2. worked on the bikes today....was hoping to take the track bike around the block to click through the gears, but ran into issues and didn't have time
  3. My reasoning as well. Plus I've heard mixed reviews of the show.
  4. I do. Didn't notice the "Calendar" link on the top of the page, could have just added dates in there.
  5. So I guess it worked and you can see it, at least that much worked
  6. Here is a link to a calendar I'm keeping for trackdays, haven't added much yet....was hoping to make it editable by anyone, but didn't figure it out yet. http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=djJuazU3Y2UxcmZnY2VsamFjcDRzaGJoM29AZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ
  7. hmmmm time to make a calendar and figure this all out. Really want to make the trip to Grattan, sad to see it wont be with MotoSeries
  8. Ohhhh, not planning to go in that deep. Actually might not even pull the body apart if the oil can be cycled out while it is together. It would be nice to give the internals a once over while it is depressurized, but I wouldn't consider breaking the stacks apart at this point.
  9. It is not like I'm talking about using a bicycle pump to fill the shock, I only use that to seat beads on my tires.....once. But is all seriousness, all I'm going to do is put in fresh fluid and repressurize the shock so I know the starting point and can make adjustments in the future.
  10. I'm not seeing how it would be any more risk than having someone else fill it??? I'll verify the pressure after filling as well, so the risk of on-the-bike failure shouldn't weigh in. If you mean risk while filling by having something go boom; I haven't looked into the pressure raitnigs on standard air chucks, but I planned on putting a burst disc inline. Can't remember the fill pressure for the shock, but I'm pretty sure it was under 200psi.
  11. I wish. Don't even have a compressor(in Ohio, have 2 in Pa)
  12. Get the tank filled with nitrogen, put on a reg, attach an air chuck via whip, set the pressure behind the chuck and fill up the shock. I have a little 22ci tank that will work perfect to dedicate for this.
  13. I can take care of the pressurizing after, have a tank and reg in Pa that should work.
  14. Anyone have experience tearing down a rear shock for fluid refresh?
  15. Bunch of steel fasteners that need replaced before the corrode and seize up in the aluminum. Other than that I haven't taken a good look. It has one vortex and one rearset of some other brand that is not adjustable...pipe is held on with 2 bolts. Basically it needs gone over nose to tail. When I went to pick it up the bike fired right up from freezing temps, clicked in first, engine sounded fine(very short warm-up), the clutch was with smooth and torque felt just like my other bike going onto the trailer. If it goes around the track with only a couple hundred or less put into it, I'll be ecstatic....I'll have got exactly what I wanted, something I can beat the piss out of and not feel bad about. Oh yeah, the one issue that I know about already, it either has a weak battery or a bad regulator/rectifier or a bad stator. The guy had to charge the battery the night before I came. I'll have to get the voltmeter out and test it. I haven't decided yet, but I'm considering doing the valves on both bikes this spring since one is nearing 14k and the other is completely unknown.
  16. My tools are scattered around the garage right now, but I could gather up the metric wrenches sockets and allens easy enough. I should just bring my damn bike and get some work done on it, all I've done since bringing it home was pull the bodywork off to see what was underneath.
  17. Off topic, but I can't recall exactly what it was, know it was in the past year because I just rejoined after about a 7 year lapse. All the new electronics since I quit flying is pretty cool.
  18. You a member of the AMA? there was actually legislation going through (didn't pay much attention to it) about FPV flight.
  19. I'm going to have to string one of my bikes up from the rafters to do a fork swap between bikes; I should be able to bring my stand(with 01-05 gsxr sized pin) once I get that done. Should be able to bring an extra spool stand(or two) if we need them as well. I'm guessing someone has a fork oil height tool doodad, if not I can bring my super sweet homebrew one.
  20. Sweet! I'll have to check this out tonight.
  21. harbor freight folding 4x8' with 12" rims. Currently set up for 1 bike, but if my car had a higher towing capacity, I could fit 2 with a little modification for wider tie down points. I use a 2x10" for a ramp, which also works nicely as a side rail to strap stuff to in transit. Trailer is low enough I can walk the bike up easily. When I put the thing together I was concerned about my car pulling it and braking with the trailer attached. Empty you forget it is behind the car, even at 75.Normally I get ~34mpg with my car, with an empty trailer it's down to ~32mpg and I got 29 on the way back from Kentucky going about 70-75 most of the way. If I slow I could get >30mpg hauling a bike. No protected storage sucks, but that is why my car has a backseat and a trunk. May mount a tongue box and move the bike back to reduce tongue weight for next year. Things that need changed: lights are getting torn up from road debris and the stock wiring is garbage(the chassis ground relies on conduction through a hinge).
  22. Oh, I can come, not sure if I'll be bringing anything to work on....bike needs some love, but it might be too big of a job for one night.
  23. So can we look forward to part 3 anytime soon?
