    Gallon Smashing

or someone comes to help and slips... I still laughed a little, even though it is completely stupid
  4. It is probably better having a concrete rule than having people coming up and saying they lost their receipt, but the helmet is only 2 yrs old, but was mfgd in 2005.
  5. Foam is a lot more robust than what we give it credit for. They use EPS "geofoam" for building support beds for roadways. The problem is containimates, like gas for a roadway, that the foam could possibly be exposed to. In a box, inside a store, the helmet shouldn't really be exposed to anything that would degrade the foam. I guess it doesn't really matter, just find it contradictive the warranty is based off sale date and use for racing is based off mfg date.
  6. I was concerned about the mfg date and figured I'd lose out on a little life with the closeout. I think the date on mine was late 2011. If it was earlier I would have requested credit toward a different helmet. I don't really understand the 5yr limit. I've read that mfgrs claim sweat and use can degrade adhesives, but they still warranty for 5 yrs from purchase date(assumed first day of use). If the helmet is sitting in a box, why does it have a limited shelf life?
  7. Nice! I'm now telling myself I'm done buying anything but the necessities until the season starts. I should keep record of how much is being spent, but I don't want to damper how much fun the track is. Found out today that one of my coworkers wants to sell his Arai helmet would have been nice to know before.
  8. yeah, it is a nice addition. Cannot wait to use the helmet.
  9. Visors came in and I'm very happy. Crappy cell phone pic. Those are yours Jeff, mine is on the helmet and already in the bag. It needs to warm the hell up, I have work to do on the bike. For entertainment: this guy seems to make some decent videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/irnieracing?feature=watch
  10. been using it for years upon years it is an rss aggregator, basically it let you build your own newspaper of content from the internet I liked it because I could aggregate a lot of for sale forums, and even forum search queries in for sale on common site. I also liked that I could browse extremely quickly through the titles and select content I wanted to view....with no BS, loading times, or any other ads(probably why it is getting shut down).
  11. Damn you google, I use reader constantly on multiple devices If you kill google voice, I'll smash my galaxy nexus and get a windows phone and start using bing and hotmail seriously, how much do you gain by killing an RSS feed aggregatior(sp?).

    Ewwwwww.

I smell a marketing campaign: You got your McDonalds in my condoms....no you got your condoms in my Mcdonalds.

Yeah, the suit is saying the wacarnolds needs to be a babysitting service....for everyone. "It(the suit) also blames the restaurant chain for not using surveillance or inspections to uncover any “deviant activities” at its eatery." Next person that gets hit by a drunk driver needs to sue the state or federal government. They govt is the one who owns and maintain the roads right? They shouldn't allow people to drive drunk! If they don't catch every single one, every single time, before the drunk has a chance to hurt someone it is the governments fault, right? Here is a test, replace condom with plastic bag and replace "ate and spit up later" with "nearly suffocated and needed to be resuscitated". Sad thing is, she will get paid to shut up and drop the suit. The ONLY way this shouldn't be kicked out of court would be if someone informed the staff of the condom in the play area and they did nothing about it.
  14. Airflow was pretty high on my priority list. My AFX FX-90 is a pretty nice helmet for the budget price, but it didn't flow enough air and was a little rough in the air. I picked the Star because it is supposed to be good aerodynamically, fairly light, and have good ventilation. Can't wait to test it out!
  15. Thanks for mentioning the track strip, it was installed after my "test" of the fit. I was pretty impressed with the bag and the visor sheath that comes with the Star as well. It will be nice to have that for transport to and from track days. Have a couple visors on the way as well One thing I just noticed, the chin seems a little closer than my other helmets, so my microphone for the Sena SMH5 may not play nicely. I'll have to figure out something for that if I want to use the Bell on the street.
  16. lol my street bike needs side fairings bolted on and my track bike is still at square 1.(in the garage) I need to add water, heat it up and go through the gears before doing anything else to it.
  17. Gave the garage a good cleaning over the weekend and started to mess with the bikes. Noticed the radiator support bracket was missing from the track bike and found one on ebay....easier than fabbing one up. Gas cap didn't close right on the track bike either, so I ordered a screw on one as well. Both the rad support and cap came in, as well as a new helmet Picked up the Bell Star that STG has on clearance. I was debating between the Star and a Scorpion 700 that is also on clearance; not sure why I decided to splurge a little bit. After wearing it for a half hour, I'm pretty happy with spending the extra money, the fit is great and cannot wait to wear it on the road/track. Hopefully it won't have the buffeting issues of my old AFX helmet.
  18. Picture didn't seem to work, but I think this is what you were shooting for: and just for entertainment:
  19. Sorry you had to sell, I'll miss this thread being bumped with mouth watering pics.
  20. I've seen a couple people get the bridge/root of their nose cut up during a crash when wearing glasses under a helmet.
  21. I had a good experience with the customer service. Quick response to emails, after verification that it was recenetly purchased, they replaced the quick clip and gave me two spares. I've heard of a few issues with the blacks, kind of has me leaning toward a silver or another hd2 for a second camera. Hopefully we can get some competition going and reduce the costs of these things.
  22. Not saying that it can't be done, hell I've done it many times while on the street. Brain was on the low setting, but not low enough setting. Planned on taking it easy in the turns and being aggressive when straight line accelerating and braking to get some heat into them; plan didn't work out so well when the tires didn't even get to touch the track. I don't blame the tires, they have a set amount of traction at any given time and my demand from them was more friction than they could deliver.
  23. Too much throttle/not enough friction to hold the bike up. Shit happens. Helped me realize I don't want to have to baby it again, both with new tires and the warm up lap each session.
