Quality and durability are two different things. I have no idea and don't plan to upgrade my iPhone 5. Not all next gen phones are more durable than the previous model. Apple or otherwise. Just bitching about Apple.

Agree on the really fast stuff it must be hard. Don't care for racing to a set time. That's not racing, that's something else entirely to me.

1/4 is 90% vehicle and 10% rider. More $ spent faster you go. The more you spend the shorter your races are. Road racing is much longer and requires much more skill that is also applicable to street riding. 1/4 is boring overall.

3 wheelers at least make logical sense when the single wheel is in the back (assuming forward travel is the norm). I'm more confused by the gold wing 3 wheeler crowd. Those things are well north of $30K. Personally, I say a convertible cat is a great option if you don't or can't ride a 2 wheeler. What's the joy in getting hurt worse in crashes, getting wet in the rain and getting hot in the summer and cold in the winter???

I wish him well but have no confidence in a high performance engine's durability unless built by experts with a lot of experience. I would need a lot more information on the history of the firm that is designing and building the engine. The rest if the bike isn't as much of a worry.

Ohio insurance laws state they must have reason to get insurance on you. A business partner or spouse would easily qualify for a policy. I couldn't take one out on you. That's the rule but doesn't mean you can't try. And I don't think there is any rule about notification. Which is strange. It would be nice to know if your life if insured and by who. Seems I would want to know of any changes.

I know, sometimes I can be boring. But I still believe that most aftermarket exhausts cost way too much and add way too little. If you bike sounds good already, that takes away one of the three reasons to get aftermarket (power and weight being the other two). Use the money to take a biking adventure that you won't forget. When you go to sell the bike, most people want it to be stock. Not that you would ever sell it

I say stick with stock and waste the money on something else.

I cannot remember the last bike I owned with a helmet lock. My scooter trunk will hold one full face helmet. Scooter being the most likely two wheeler I would ride to the movies. However, I would normally ride two up and therefore only have place for one helmet. I definitely wouldn't leave a $500 helmet hanging out on my bike. Weird that the theater wouldn't just tell you to hold your helmet. I damn sure wouldn't put it on the floor.

Probable weight gainers on 899. No magnesium engine covers, no aluminum tank and heavier suspension. Does come with abs which is 5 lbs. I have base 1199 with abs. 1199S models are supposed to be heavier overall than the base due to heavy LED headlights (heatsinks) even with the lighter wheels. Full disclosure, I've never weighed any Ducati on a real scale.

I always thought singles weighed the same or more since they have to be so beefy. Maybe suspension? 1199 has aluminum fork tubes.

For the record 1" = 25.4mm. Loose is better than tight in regards to chain. It takes a really loose chain to cause problems. Moderately tight can cause issues.
