  1. Suppose a person already has alcohol in their car before they go into a bar. They have some drinks before they go into the bar that have not yet taken affect. They drink more in the bar in a short period of time and are refused service after it becomes apparent they shouldn't be served more. The person then gets into their car and drinks some more of what they have, finishing the last of it and disposing of the container. Then they drive off and get into an accident. The bar did not serve them while they were in an intoxicated state and cut them off when they consumed faster than was prudent. The patron left. How was the bar to know they had consumed before they arrived? How can they escape the accusation of serving them too much when in reality the patron had his own liquor in the car and disposed of the empty bottle before driving off? .

  5. Don't forget your accessories. http://www.snowblowersdirect.com/throwers/snow-blower-accessories.html After all, you personalize your bike, right? You can get heated hand grips, too! Here is an excellent guide for choosing a snow blower that is right for you. http://www.snowblowersdirect.com/stories/145-How-to-Pick-the-Perfect-Snow-Thrower.html .

  7. Our only clue is this >> Police said an officer was chased by a vicious dog after the pursuit went through a family's yard. I can see this as the owner being charged with allowing his dog to interfere with official police business even if it was in his own backyard. Not that it would be right. .
  8. I always thought one of the best ways to get revenge on someone was to give their kids something that makes lots of noise. I once lived in an apartment building with three floors and a concrete walkway the length of the building for entry to each unit. People would turn their kids loose on their "big wheels" and nothing but the sound of plastic wheels running up and down the walkway could be heard all day long and often late into the evening. What a nightmare.
  9. We don't know where the dog came from or where the police were. It could have happened on the street or in someone's front yard. >> Police said an officer was chased by a vicious dog after the pursuit went through a family's yard. I was wondering about if it was in my own backyard.....or yours. .
  10. That's not a snow blower. That is a bleedin' snow blower!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frBh5vO_2g0 :biker: .
  11. I wonder, if there were four dogs, all large, in a fenced yard, and the cops jumped the fence and promptly had large pieces of meat removed from their bodies, how would the media make this look? Would they blame the owner? I'm thinking they would.

  16. Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to visit India. I would prefer to travel into the countryside and see how everyday life is for the people who live there. I would eat where the locals eat and try to enjoy the foods people cook in their homes. And with a twinkle in her eye, the right Indian woman could easily steal my heart. .
  17. I stopped at Yamaha in Hebron on the way home yesterday. I sat on an FZ8 and it fit me just fine. It's the Fizzer 8 that I would be more interested in. It has a bikini faring. I wonder if anyone here has seen one in Canada. I think they came out in 2010. .
  18. The Yamaha FZ8 is here. It's a naked bike. Below is a picture of the Fazer 8, the same bike with some faring. It's not yet sold in this country but I have a funny feeling we may see it on our shores sooner or later. Opinions? .
  19. Here is a small quote from that site. >> "He (Obama) is a Communist without question promoting the Communist Manifesto without calling it so. How shrewd he is in America. His cult of personality mesmerizes those who cannot go beyond their ignorance. They will continue to follow him like those fools who still praise Lenin and Stalin in Russia. Obama's fools and Stalin's fools share the same drink of illusion. ...Soros and his ownership of the company that counts the US votes in Spain helped put their puppet in power in the White House. According to the Huffington Post, residents in all 50 states have filed petitions to secede from the Unites States. We'll say that these Americans are hostages to the Communists in power. How long will their government reign tyranny upon them? President Vladimir Putin could never have imagined anyone so ignorant or so willing to destroy their people like Obama much less seeing millions vote for someone like Obama." What is clear to the rest of the world cannot be seen by our own people. .
  20. Right there are a couple of reasons I find them interesting. I'm not stuck on them but I'm not ruling them out either. They seem to offer a good middle ground between the V-Twins and I-4's. I'm in research mode and still learning the pros and cons of different engines. I was under the impression that the engine was one of the major differences in bikes. See? I still have a lot to learn. I checked out the Gladius before I bought the bike I have now. I checked out the Ninja 650 a couple months ago. I'm wanting to check out an SV 650. And the Pokemon has me checking out the FZ6r. I'm enjoying this adventure in learning. I don't have to make any decisions before I'm ready to buy. All of the suggestions I've received have helped to narrow the selection process for me. I'm reading up on these bikes as I get time and I'm getting a much better feel for what is what. Thanks to everyone for your input. .
  21. I will certainly consider this info for my 3rd bike. Hopefully I will be ready for a bike this size in a few more years. I'll go ahead and read up on the 1st generation Concours though, just for fun. It is a nice looking bike. I haven't talked to anyone that doesn't like it. >> https://www.google.com/search?q=concours+1400&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=kgQ&tbo=u&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Y_60UKWwK4mw8ASL9IHQCg&ved=0CD8QsAQ&biw=1280&bih=900 .
  22. I've been reading up on the VFR 800. You are right. It was the mid-sized sport touring bike that set the standard for the others, I suppose. The one I saw had handlebars that were pretty low as compared to the ST 1300, Connie 14, FJR. I don't know what it was like fresh out of the box since it was used. I suppose I could get handlebar risers and lowered foot pegs to make it sit closer to what I want. I'm still learning these things. Hear that Doc? I'm reading about the VFR. Doc? Are you listening? I'll also read about all the other bikes that have been suggested to me. You guys are full of great information. Coming here is like opening an encylopedia on motorcycles. I really appreciate everyone's input. The bike search conversation should probably go back over here >> http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=99911&page=5
  23. Here's another look at it. It seems good things are being said about it by those who know more about bikes than I ever will. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhaRdPJI3sU Maybe one day, after some used ones start to show up with much lower prices, one of us will end up with one.

  25. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gold_Triumph_Daytona_675_with_rider_pan_shot.jpg I sit here and open the 2012 Triumph Motorcycle brochure that I picked up from Motohio last week. Under the heading of SUPERSPORTS is the Daytona 675 and the Daytona 675R. I like the look of those bikes. It's the forward leaning posture as shown in the photo above that I would find uncomfortable after an hour in the saddle. http://www.portalmotos.com/revista/pruebas-de-motos/triumph-street-triple-test-portalmotos/5397.html Ahhh yes! And much easier on my arms. I just wish that there were some fairing to keep the wind off. I suppose I got a little spoiled in that my current bike offers a more upright riding position, and fairing to boot. http://www.ridermagazine.com/road-tests/2008-motorcycle-fuel-economy-motorcycle-comparison.htm/attachment/2008-suzuki-gs500f-motorcycle-test-stermer-01
