  1. I agree with fit being extremely important. For a good bit there I was a helmet whore. I had kbc lids, shark, Suomy, icon, answer, hjc, scorpion, and I'm sure a few others. Then one day my local shop became an Arai dealer and I put on a corsair v. I really hated that it fit like it was specifically for me... Because the price is so ridiculous. Now that I own that helmet, and looking back, should have been the only helmet I ever purchased. Riding becomes so much more enjoyable when you're absolutely comfortable. I've spent 16 hour days in that helmet, of which the only way I can tell I was even wearing it is helmet hair. Now it's the only helmet I'll buy. I don't know what I'll do when they stop making it.
  2. Bump! Season is upon us! The tires in this bike are so fresh they still have sticker adhesive on them!
  3. A famous one that sticks out in my head is John Conner's xr100 from terminator 2 sound more like a small bore 2 stroke than the xr100's true roar **sarcasm. They do it because of the recognizability to general public. Susie homemaker doesn't know what an air cooled inline 4 sounds like. To be specific, both of Daryl's bikes didn't sound correct. The first was a parallel twin that sounded peculiarly like a HD
  4. I've always found a bike that claims it can do it all, tends to be crappy or half assed at everything. I prefer the multi-bike approach. I will say: I'll probably never own another super sport for street riding ever again. There is no reason to be that uncomfortable, when I can get a sport naked that handled street performance the same, but in comfort.
  5. Mich starcross ms3's are my favorite for the areas around Cincinnati/NKY.
  6. still for sale price drop to $4500 ...its italian...
  7. I'm a similar build, 6'2"/172lbs 32w34L and I wear a US44/EUR54 off rack suit in most brands. The cortech suit is a really affordable, good looking 1 piece. Check out spartan leathers. They're reasonably local to Cincinnati, have off rack suit sizes available starting in the 400ish range and can build custom suits within your budget. Other than that, you can hunt bargain bins throughout the interwebs and find top tier suits for pennies. I found my puma suit for around $800, and its a $1700 suit. Just be a little open minded to color. My puma suit is Cream and silver... Not white... Cream... But it fits great and has badass features like titanium/carbon knee, shoulder, and elbow protection.
  8. Are there any open cabin spots? I have a truck and trailer, I can haul a few bikes. But I live near Cincinnati...
  9. maybe?? i'm getting married in august. i wanted to make a mountains trip my bachelor party. how appropriate would this trip be for that?
  10. Those are really fun bikes! They'll teach you corner entry and momentum because they don't have the power to drive out. I got to ride one in the mountains, it was a riot! Great bike to learn how to ride fast.
  11. I have a theory about what's the best motorcycle to own: The uglier it is (new, not modified or neglected) the more you'll enjoy riding/using it. Ugly bikes Example: vstrom or any ADV tourer Example 2: Goldwing or any large tourer Example 3: anything made by BMW w/shaft drive Attractive Bikes: Example 1: Any un-faired or partial faired HD Example 2: Any super sport. Rule exemption: Supermoto. They're uncomfortable, unreliable, high maintenance, terrible above 65 mph for any length of time, but they are incredibly fun! People own any of these bikes for their own reasons. If you simply like how looks, that can be enough reason in itself. You will, however, find yourself using your bike more or less depending on how much you enjoy riding it/how you intend to ride it.
  12. I've ridden a few sportster 1200's. They're good for a laugh. That's about it. Not in a bad way, but in all honesty, they're a useless motorcycle... Unless you count bike night and bar hopping as motorcycling. I'm not a big fan of a non-faired/no bag cruiser. If I'm going to kick back and cruise, I would like to be able and comfortable to do so for lots of time and miles. The sportster just isn't enough chassis for this. If I were to buy a Harley, I'd look at an ultra.
  13. Sorry to the OP, but I add to the discussion: Wait till the Ktm 390 dukes come out. $4,999 brand new, warranty, 44hp/300lbs, low seat height, supermoto ergo's... Could pull double duty: kart track and big track. Ktm has a power parts race kit to remove the headlight and add a belly pan. Pretty slick setup for a reasonable price. Once they come out that is... Some dealers are saying march.
  14. I heard those gsxr's are great on the track!
  15. I think a wheelie simulator would be an awesome addition to a man cave. If I were rich and all that.
  16. My 2012 s1000rr through riders was 300/year comprehensive. My 2014 Ducati hypermotard sp started at 300/year but like similar stories was "reclassified" and now runs me $600ish/year My 1999 BMW k1200LT is covere for 80/year comprehensive through riders. Overall, for me they're still the least expensive. I've considered shopping again soon. Insurance is something you should always shop, usually once a year or every other year.
  17. Do you have used motor oil laying around the house/garage/shop? Are you near springboro, Franklin, Middletown, Dayton area? We ran out of used oil. 18. I read a top 10 list of modern bikes on Facebook recently. The list went back to 2004 and I feel was missing a few. Thought I'd make my own, get some input, and invite you to make your own. This list will be comprised of any type of bike made in modern years from 2010 and up. There are so many greats out there, and this will be my opinion the best of the best. #10. 2012 BMW R1200GS adventure an impressive machine. I first encountered one in 2012 while making a pass south bound on 129 through deals gap. I was rolling a decent pace, running a smooth 3rd gear decent through the dragon. As I crossed the Tennessee/North Carolina state line, I stood up on the pegs to stretch and to make a "spine adjustment", as a chiropractor would call it, when low and behold what had been on my rear tire the entire pass? a completely loaded down R1200GS. Needless to say, I was impressed. #9. 2014 Beta 350rr factory Unbelievable enduro machine. beautiful, heavily equiped, and the first time i've ever seen a 140 rear tire on a dirt bike! wow! I've lusted after this one for a while, but the price tag is hefty for something i'll use a handful of times a year. #8. 2014 EBR 1190 RX no matter your opinion on the former BUELL motorcycles, the new EBR lineup includes 2 great machines. The flagship of which, the 1190 RX, is really proving to be a contender in the super bike genre. I'm proud of Erik Buell, what a great comeback. #7. Honda Grom if you dont love the honda grom, theres something wrong with you. I had the privilege of owning one for about 2 months. big mistake letting that one go. nothing like a 20 mile ride, 2up with your lady, on a mini bike, to grab a bagel. #6. 2012 BMW S1000 RR the great white shark. massive horsepower, redesigned chassis geometry, huge electronics package, quirky looks, 3 year warrenty... the S1K had it all. unbelievable package for the price at only $500 more than any japanese competitor. #5. 2011 BMW K1600GTL because bmw flagship tourer. enough said. #4 2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 RR seriously, its probably the most beautiful bike I've ever seen. just look at it. its honestly not even that great of a bike, theres way better choices... but just look at it. #3 2012 Ducati panigale linup This one was a game changer for Ducati. this bike single handedly saved Ducati with the highest sales in company history. i believe this bike had some serious Audi ownership influence, which was important to put the brand on the right track to success. It didn't just save ducati though, it also happens to be one of the best looking bikes ever made, has that italian sex appeal that ducati is known for, and the balls to back it up. #2 KTM 1290 superduke R the austrian death machine. KTM made a seriously pointless motorcycle that is so great and wonderful I dont care that it doesn't really fit into any certain category very well. brutal, sleek, loud... all things that really make me want to ride a wheelie on one. ...and my #1 modern bike of the 2010's is: #1. 2014 Aprilia RSV4 factory The exhaust note, the power, the finesse, italian exotic'ness... yep... i wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers. If I had the means, it would already be on stands in my garage, wearing a full set of race plastics of course. ^^^thats what bored at work looks like.

I'm near you too! Once the weather breaks, we'll be hosting cruise in's and rides.
  20. 02 super hawk + 2k cash = deal! **depending condition/miles.
  21. those 3 and 2k cash, and you have yourself a deal!
  22. a 3/4 length jacket is very much the hot ticket. i find they fit better (truer to size and made for lanky people) overpants sounds like what you're looking for. many brands carry them. dont order a size up, though. if they're classified as overpants, they're already sized to fit over your clothes. if you had hella loot, i'd say check out an aerostitch suit. when on a budget though, a versatile textile 3/4 jacket and overpants, both with removable liners and ventilation, would be a great + affordable alternative. just make sure its CE armor and you're good to go. gear is fantastic. it not only protects you, but can make the ride more comfortable/enjoyable. anything made for touring or adventure riding has plenty of pockets and is nice to wear. the sport stuff is more purpose built and styled more towards race track or bike night. iron pony does carry a very large amount of closeout section. i can not beat the closeout prices. If you happen across something new at iron pony, i'd be glad to beat the price for you. just try it on first, ensure fitment, then give me a call or PM me here for the OR discount.
