  1. Badass! Congrats! I'd absolutely love one of those! Seriously awesome bike.
  2. Just took it up to the gas station. That thing is a handful in 33* weather!
  3. I'll have a first gen sv650 (02 I think) for sale soon (being serviced by apex)
  4. No replacement for displacement.
  5. What you have to remember about turbos: They're more load dependent than rpm dependent. It's not like a 2 stroke where you just keep them zinging... You'd have to keep it loaded to keep it boosting. Which is impossible if you're going through corners properly.
  6. ah yes... if if were a fifth, we'd all be drunk. i'm good with some day dreaming. i'm always dreaming up reasons or ideas to go faster on my SM, but in all actuality it always boils down to my bad case of pussyitis. but honestly: i dont see turbo lag and mid corner acceleration going well together. i see high side city.
  7. same reasons engineer's do. because they can. and i think they enjoy it.
  8. i was also going to suggest the MSO route. that was common practice a few years ago. you may need to speak to a manager to get real info, i'm betting most salesman dont know what an MSO is.
  9. A couple thousand on a turbo setup to still be slower than a ktm or wr450f
  10. All of this And as a person who generally reaches the 5 title sales rule in Ohio (rather quickly)... I always write on the title the purchase price I paid in truth. I just mark my sale price up to cover my costs in taxes. Which is only 6.5% (or maybe 6.75% now?) Which trust me, is FAR less than income tax as a dealer. I'm not an advocate of the state either, I'm just a prisoner of it forced to live within its system.
  11. That's probably a dry weight figure. I wouldn't recommend bump start only. The wrx's do not have a kick starter either. I'm not sure how you could remove the starter without running some sort of block-off plate. Besides, no real advantage to bump start only if you have to keep a battery on board (and with a wrx you do). You could just get used to the extra 50-60 lbs. Or buy a ktm. Lol, wrx's are great bikes... But there is no perfect bike.
  12. Price cut! $500 - you pick it up
  13. They did, but I havnt heard anymore news about them. The prototypes they had were very similar to the last generation. No specs were released. I'm hopeful though. I wouldn't buy an aprilia SXV as a street bike though. The new husky 701 isn't supposed to be out till 2016 or so and may not make it to the states (emissions reasons.) besides, it is just a 690smc and I'm not sure it's even an smc-r model.
  14. I was rounding those numbers, but yes same difference. It's still an economy car from a lower end brand (and I know Hyundai is doing better, I currently work for a Hyundai dealer and a Kia dealer for 7 years before here) for twice the price of a luxury motorcycle. It's insane!
  15. I agree about bikes are cheap compared to cars. A Hyundai elantra now runs 30,000 with a few options. The sonata is a 40,000 car. And it's a Hyundai! People scoff at me when I have to fess up to owning a Ducati... Like I'm rich or something. I paid more for my used 10 year old 180,000 mile truck than I did a brand new Ducati! And those are slow/not good performing vehicles. I'd hate to know what msrp is on anything that handles/accelerates decent.
  16. Wheels are expensive. DNA brand wheels are decent and affordable From there warp9 is reasonable still. And proven Excel/talon is the standard for racing Marchesini makes mag wheels, pretty expensive at 2500ish, benefits: tubeless. There's some other brands too, but I consider alpina to be cream of the crop. The carbon matrix rim set is 3300. That's without a brake setup. Don't forget the front brake, a decent one will run $1000+
  17. The ktm duke 390 is scheduled to be here in march. 300lbs 44hp Dirtbike ergo's 4999.99 msrp. Otherwise: you're looking for what all the kids on SMJ are looking for... The ultimate do-it-all non-existent motorcycle. A 450 MX bike does not make for an easy street bike. And a highway comfortable supermoto doesn't make a good kart track bike. And drz's suck at life. They're great bikes, but just terds in every way.
  18. If you've ever driven an 80ft long 100,000lbs vehicle that barely fits within the lane width, you'd understand why they sometimes make dick'ish moves, or they get pissed off when you make a dick'ish move around them. Always remember this rule of the road: he with more lugnuts wins.
  19. Finding TRS stuff used is harsh. They last forever and they're adaptable to so many bikes, no one wants to sell them. Apex does sell them new though. We offer OR discounts. If I'm not mistaken, they run $289.99 retail. Give us a call or pm me for your price. Just FYI: TRS mounting hardware and plate runs $30ish. Once you buy a kit, you can put plates everywhere for not too much money.
  20. i plan on doing this entire season racing supermoto. the schedule does have some conflict with work, but i'll make arrangements. can't wait for april to get here! i need to put in some seat time!
  21. Sure is! We can help arrange pickup/delivery for anyone in need. Give us a call!
