You may want to check out a ram mount xgrip. You can use your phone's GPS while you are riding. It is especially nice if you have an in helmet ggo bluetooth system.
North Carolina mountains. I would say Deals Gap, but there is great riding in the whole region. I ride through there every year on my way to the Outer Banks to meet the wife and kids.
