  1. A buddy has one of the Noveske thunder pigs. Works pretty well for throwing most of the noise/blast downrange. http://www.shopnoveske.com/products/kx3-flash-suppressor-1-2-28-for-5-56ar
  2. The next COD may be revisiting WWII. I loved WAW so hopeful they will get back to co-op and gameplay rather than gadgets.
  3. X2 on a can. ARs under 10" are just obnoxious without.
  4. Especially for someone trying to make an emergency call.
  5. I prefer to shoot and upload raw video. Pretty sure no one is interested in my Worldly thoughts.
  6. I used to dislike all the work involved when I was a kid, but now I actually enjoy it. Three hours later with help of a friend and log splitter
  7. Burning wood ain't all that bad. I have the 1557m, and while I think its a POS, it does heat the house. Ceramic lined block chimney. It would be a much better furnace with a spring dampener rather than the slide setup. Also, the upper baffle channels smoke right out the door when trying to feed it. Used to have an old Suburban model that came with house, but firebox finally rusted thru. Should have spent the extra money to get a Brunco model. I believe all the new burners have to comply with epa regs, which aren't the best for clean burning. The stove designs are solid, but people like me who grew up with airtight stoves of yore have a hard time operating these new efficient stoves. I'm absolutely sure I have more smoke and creosote with new new stove than I did with the older one.
  8. Was shooting some flies on Sunday...great fun! Watch the left side of the barrel closely.
  9. Two of them in Zanesville. Danny's Radiator Repair and Wolfe Radiator Works. Both reputable. There was/is an issue with the lead, but not sure what the outcome was.

    Proud as heck

We sell Wright at my work. Excellent tools. They have one up on snap on too...100% domestically produced using only American steel. Only stuff we ever get back is due to abuse or 30 years old...we warranty everything. Also they are family owned.
  12. That'll be a nice route. Hope the weather holds for you.
  13. I face a similar dilemma. I can make a hell of a route just getting down to "the good stuff" or I can "slab" on RT60. I trailered down to Marietta Walmart my last two trips and made it the start/stop point as I've been having a shoulder problem and any more than 3-4 hours on the bike is very unpleasant at this point. I will likely employ this tactic while exploring in WV next season as well.
  14. Awesome! Looks to be in great shape.
  15. I found the northern part of 260 to be more challenging.
  16. Yup. Rode by Athens, then over 550 to Marietta, then 7 to 676 North, to 555 North. It was a nice ride. Noted. Any issue with gravel or snakes?
  17. It was two weeks ago. I rode it from 26 down to the river.
  18. While I have been doing some riding in this area, I have yet to come across anything like 536. I rode it last year and conditions were fair, but they had placed some culverts and had some wide patches of tar at each culvert placement. Was just on 26 and 260 last weekend and I thought the road conditions were pretty good aside from one patch of gravel that had washed from a driveway all the way across both lanes. 800 also in decent shape. RT7 is getting beat up by all the truck traffic from the Oil & Gas activity. I would guess that many roads around the Woodsfield area are also getting hammered with truck traffic...Belmont county and Monroe county as well as they are the current hotspots for drilling activity. 555 has deteriorated quite a bit in many areas...it's still a decent ride, but I often look for other routes and I'm only 10 minutes from the terminus on the north side. I had a ball on 676 on the west side of Marietta a couple weeks ago, but again not "on the level" with 536s madness. Also, where exactly are these "backroads" over in Hocking area? I have been exploring down there a little and have not seen anything on par with 260/800/26. Always looking for a new twisty road to play on. You have a PM BTW.

    5.72 mm ammo

    Do you mean 5.7x28mm?
  20. Condolences. I buried my buddy Jack in may. He made it 12 good years and his grave overlooks his favorite swimming spot. Had to have my father drive us to the vet to have him put down because I was such a mess. Still have my 15 year old kitteh to keep me company, but another very hard day awaits me with her as well. The hurting will pass, but the good memories will remain.
  21. Yeah...I have no experience with either as I've only been on 3 group rides before and they were unorganized at best. Sweet. Only *half of the forum will want to murder me! Hoped no one would read it that way. Members here (on the forum) don't come off as squiddish in the least. Responsible riding is the prevailing theme on OR from what I've seen.
  22. So, I've been following this thread since inception and I must confess...I am the ghost rider! Not really. I'm not that fast. I debated several times about joining this ride, but my introverted retardedness kept me from it. As a one-man wolfpack I'm not really a "joiner". I ride almost exusively solo. Im the guy who donates to Down Bikers and ABATE, but never attends the events. When I first got the bike, I had decided that it was in my best interest to ride alone and also de facto at my own pace. Most riders I know here are either squids, or pirates, neither is a group I'm really interested in riding with. I do understand that it puts me at risk of going down and not having anyone to offer assistance. I am a cautious rider but do enjoy a bit of hoonage from time to time. I almost overcame my social awkwardness for the sheer fact that I think I have come as far as I can in terms of learning on my own. I feel like I need to get some moto-culture from more experienced riders, and I can find it in a group ride such as this. I'm actually a bit ashamed of myself for not jumping in. SEO is my neighborhood and I have been spending the last two seasons trying to ride every desirable...and some not so much route in the southeast. Each time I explore a new twisty road I can't help but to feel privileged to be so near so much great riding! This past Friday I rode most of RT 260 down in Washington county...pure cornering bliss. What I'm getting at is that I know my way around down here and depending upon pace, can easily lead a group without getting lost...and by lead I mean I know where to go. But there is a little more to leading a group that just knowing the route from what I have read here. I found OR via google search of "Ohio motorcycling" or something to that effect. I liked the humor and rapport of the site, so I hung around. I enjoy reading the discussions an occasional spats between members...usually its Mags vs the world threads that are quite stimulating to read. The other forum that I frequent doesn't allow this tomfoolery and can be a bit dry at times. Thanks for not neutering the forum of shenannigans Casper! Anyways, this is my trying to get past my inhibitions and come meet you folks at one of the rides...preferably in SEO. I am never coming to the track as I have a fear of buttrape.
  23. So this system is cellular based? Would be a no-go in many areas where I'm at.
