  1. Can't commit to the ride, but have a suggestion on the route... Take 664 south to Logan rather than 668. Its a few miles west on rt22 from Somerset. Much more entertaining and has some fresh asphalt. Even better would be to take 668 to 312 over to 664 and then down to Logan. 312 just got resurfaced about two months ago. I ride right past 668 every time to get to 664 if I'm headed towards Logan.
  2. Truth. Need work in a lot of areas. I try to be a good ambassador as a sport rider for the most part. Normally a hawg doesn't offer much of a challenge passing, but this was on a quite squirrelly section of rt26 and I was a bit hesitant to get anywhere near captain cool glasses as he loudly hurtled his wheeled sofa all over the road in search of 80 mph.
  3. Was behind a cruiser yesterday that ended up crossing double yellows 2 or three times trying to match my pace from in front of me rather than let me pass in a non asshole fashion. 1/4 mile after the third time he crossed into the opposite lane he waves me by finally. Dunno if it was some stupid pride issue or what but he literally put himself in serious danger on some tight blind corners trying to out-fast me. I laughed the first time, but was ready to stop and take a break when he finally decided he should let me by...I don't need to see you turn yourself into a hood ornament there Blackbeard.

Best riding is all down here in hillbilly land!
  5. Roulette table. Not out anything I didn't have and bawse-sauce if I win.
  6. So they indeed enjoy the best of both worlds. Has anyone noticed that we as a nation aren't really moving forward? Seems as to me we are clawing away just to keep current status. Maybe I'm just poor? Dollar is down, infrastructure is past its 50 year build life, healthcare is most expspensive in the world with only marginal care, our status in the world is no longer the greatest nation but instead of a bully who meddles and should address its own concerns before playing world police...Thanks Obama!
  7. What I was trying to get across is that the Corpos get all the benefits and then some that I do because they are "persons". 39% is relative to what an actual citizen would pay to federal on standard income rate, no? Maybe a bit lower. If they want to be a "person" then they can pay a citizens tax share of their income.
  8. Economically challenged here...but aren't corporations treated as "people"? Why would they not be taxed as such? Certainly the earnings of this person would fall into the highest bracket.
  9. As long as all the officers got home safe...that's all that matters anyways, right?
  10. Apparently, in this case it would've been good for not taking a shot to the chest.
  11. These type of competitors are what elevate the sport. Nice Vid.
  12. What's right ain't always legal and what's legal ain't always right.
  13. Lots of chatter over on Triumph675.net about huge rate hikes at Rider's.
  14. Tried the Radians and they were OK. Didn't seem to knock down noise a whole lot and they hardened to an uncomfortable durometer in about a month. I use Purafit 6800 foam plugs. Good NRR, very pliable and about a quarter a pair.
  15. Ramen to the rescue! The homes in my area for that kind of money are not what I would call "the american dream". Congratulations on the degrees. I hope they are serving you well. Some of my friends from high school went to college and got degrees and now work in totally unrelated fields for more money than they could make in their "chosen profession". Not saying that there aren't plenty of grads that are making bank doing just what they studied for, but that's not always the case. I'm getting off on a tangent... A quicker way to prove my point would be to ask any adult if they have taken out a loan. What percentage will say no? Does that infer that the majority of folks never worked hard or saved money or that they are living "too good"? The banking industry has its tentacles in everything these days...just how they want it. "only" 25 g's? lol You Sir, are on a different level than I.
  16. Ah...yes, drink the *milkshake! SLUUUUURP! lol DDL played quite the part in that movie!
  17. That's all quite relative really. And yes, the American standard of living has climbed quite high. When I speak of an average home I'm talking 100k and less, car...15-20k and education....I haven't really got a base figure to work with as I could never afford to go....and I'm talking University...not Bumfuck Tech U and not private school. I could always move into a cave on a hill, drive an 87 Yugo, get my education from Encyclopedia Britannica and eat my own toe-jam and small rodents for sustenance....but that would hardly be average.
  18. I feel that the export of energy will be used as a means to drive up energy prices on consumers here in the states. The price only need be high enough to promote continued exploration and development...no higher. Very few will benefit and many will be spending more for their energy use here at a time when it should be plentiful and cheap. Australia is finding out what happens when you get carried away exporting energy right now. They can't resist the premiums paid in Asia. Profits are up for some, and factories are closing due to increased energy costs. Right over my head.
  19. Two Clinton wells, thank you. Baron would hardly be an accurate description though...at least until I have a couple laterals running under me. Lowest I ever personally bought it was at .90/gal during a local price war back in the day...94ish.
  20. Just pointing out the fact that most "necessities".... an average home, car or education require a bank.
  21. Loans for homes, loans for transportation, loans for education...they have it covered pretty well. Us normal folks aren't allowed to play the game without borrowing money.
  22. So there is desire to export our oil, yet we still import 7.5mbbls daily? How does that work?
  23. I have a Sony. Very pleased with it thus far.
  24. Can't commit to the ride, but will be out and about in the area...may run across your group. Ride safe!
