  1. If i had an ego, i would just go I without asking. I was just wondering what kind of times were at mid-o. I've been running I at nelsons with no issues. I know it's about consistency and predictability; didn't think to make that disclaimer. There are plenty of people with good lines but are still really slow that would cause problems in I. Same as the slow guys going into A when they shouldn't.
  2. What times are people running in int? Just wondering at what point i should move up from novice. I'm in the high 50's at the moment. I don't mind novice except for the only passing on the back straight. I would like the front straight to be opened up too. But i can see how that could become really bad really fast.
  3. Thanks! Too bad they weren't afternoon shots. I never feel comfortable at mid-o in the mornings.
  4. I do not have any footage. Getting a gopro is on my to-do list but rather spend the money on trackdays than a camera at the moment. Unless i can find a cheap one, it'll wait until the off season. I love the 675. I haven't ridden anything else on the track to compare though. But it's nice having that torque available at lower rpms. Yea. It's a mental game. I just need more track time. It doesn't help i clipped the end of the curb in turn 1 and scared the bejeezus out of myself.
  5. I'd jump all over this with my track bike if you were in Cleveland. This sounds like a great opportunity for someone. I'd like to see pics on here too when your done or the website.
  6. Does anyone know if anyone was taking pics on Friday track day?
  7. It was my second time at Mid-O and I was in group 2. I was hoping you would end up behind me as some point but didn't notice skimming through the feed. I'd love to see how i looked from behind and how bad my lines are. Our group couch said i had good body position but i'm consistently 3ft off the curb at the apex. But so far each time it's been a blast at mid-o. The way they run the novice group is excellent. It almost makes me never want to jump to intermediate.
  8. What he said. Way to go Riders Discount! I only got to watch the first round of races online but they were fun to watch and see the racers lines.
  9. I had a great time as well. Definitely set new PR's for myself. But not sure what they are cause i could never get my lap timer to work properly. It worked for one session in the morning fine and then after that it never would pick up the transmitter or if it did, just once and i had one long 15 min lap. First time ever trying to use the timer today or any timer for that matter. There was A LOT of people going down today though. 9 alone in the keyhole by 2pm; hopefully not anymore after that. They were saying the new patch was the majority of the problem.
  10. Got the bike all loaded up. Hopefully there will be some walk-in spots still available.
  11. I'm having surgery next week and no vigorous activity for 4 weeks. AHH!!!!!! Why couldn't this have happened in winter time. Stupid body.
  12. Wish i would have went on Monday now. I made the call at 5:30 this morning to not go today. Looks like a good one now, green blobs everywhere.
  13. I couldn't make it today cause of work and now the weather looks bad for tomorrow. Sigh. I'm still loading the bike tonight in hopes the weather looks good tomorrow morning.
  14. If Nelson's is still out of commission that Saturday, i'll be at Mid-O on either of those days. Whichever one looks more promising weather wise on Sunday.
  15. I was at Mid-Ohio on Tuesday. There was everything from an Astrovan with a bike inside to a HUGE motor home pulling a 30ft trailer. Do whatever works for you.
  16. I have the Harbor Freight trailer and it is great. I fold it up and put in behind my car in the garage when not in use. Keeps it out of the elements. Doesn't really take up that much room. If you do go that route, you HAVE to grease the wheel bearings before you ever use it. They put barely any grease in there and you'll burn them up pretty quick.
  17. I'm hoping to be there on the 20th. First time at Mid-O and first time on the new bike so i'll probably sign up as Novice. Trying to get two guys from work to come down too.
  18. Yep. They had Bilt helmets on sale for $49.99. I'm sure those will do a lot of good in any sort of crash. The selection of Arai and Shoei helmets is very small. Only had Bilt boots. Most of the jackets and pants looked pretty bad too. But i have never used any Bilt stuff so i can't put any real weight behind my statements. I just consider them the Harbor Freight of motorcycle gear. The only thing i found useful in there is maintenance supplies and gloves. They had a large selection of gloves from several manufacturers. Good place to try them on before buying them from ridersdiscount.
  19. Sadly i'll be drinking rum on a beach in Costa Rica. Stupid vacation always getting in the way. I guess if i had to miss one, the first one of the season is the best. It's always so crowded.
  20. Thanks all. The street 675 is def overkill. But i still like it and will keep it for awhile. It is a lot more boring than track days but i ride it to work when i can or just cruise around town. If anything, i'll end up buying another one and keeping the 675.
  21. Picked up a dedicated track bike for this season. The bug bit hard last year and didn't want to use my daily bike anymore. I have to miss the first Motoseries at nelsons unfortunately. But plan on being at the rest of them and some Mid-O this year. 2007 Daytona 675 with a 2010 engine. Has a ton of upgrades and way more bike than i'll ever need. If i get time, i'd like to do a different paint scheme this summer. I'll also need to get use to gp shift. Bought some rearsets to turn the daily into gp shift so hopefully i'll get use to it some before the first track day.
  22. I built a 10x8 shed to house my two bikes last summer. It took most of summer and cost about $1,600 for everything. I vinyl sided it and used architectural shingles to match the house/garage. http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/102707-bike-has-a-new-home/ I know you asked about buying a pre-made shed. Just wanted to put my experience out there and the cost. Home Depot has a 8x8 (maybe 8x10) shed kit you can buy for $999. It doesn't include much of a floor and uses 2x3's for the beams. The reviews also stated a lot of problems with warped boards. I would either build my own or buy some pre-made that i could look at first.
  23. Some track day organizers rent suits also. That would be a good start before you buy anything.
