  1. The 07 triumphs manual states 10w-40 or 15w-50 full synthetic. I'm assuming it'll be the same for the 12's too.
  2. Great race. I'm bummed Alvero crashed out with a few laps left though.
  3. Nice bike. Bring on summer!
  4. If a car breaks down, no big deal for the most part; even at highway speeds. A bike breaks down, it'll be injury or worse. Once these come out, i'll let others be the test subjects and see how it goes. After a year or two and no discernible problems, i'll take a look a them. I've dealt with products made from India before and it wasn't pretty. A co-worker also has. Their 'clean' paint facility had windows open to the outside (dirt roads). It's worse than China.
  5. If i wasn't concerned for my safety at high speeds on something assembled in India, i'd rock it. I really like the styling of it. If it comes to the states and is deemed reliable after a few years, i'll probably pick one up.
  6. I've watched so many youtube clips of this corner. Many chuckles have been had. I think it's everyone tries to show off since so many people are watching and end up riding outside their abilities. Especially if it's their first time through the corner.
  7. I'll be coming home from vacation on May 3. Dangit. Might have to go to one of the Mid-O days in May to make up for it.
  8. Probably another Daytona 675 once this one goes into permanent track mode this spring. I really like the way it rides and the low end the 675's provide. Looking for either a 11' or 12' 675R or another older graphite gray. Don't really care for any of the other color schemes.
  9. When i sold my 08 Ninja 250, the dealer wanted to give me $1700 on a trade. I pretty much laughed in their face. I sold it for $3000 in about 1 1/2 months off craigslist. During that time though, i had 5 no-shows (one guy twice). Each time i pulled it out, warmed it up, ready to go. And then sat around waiting. It's up to you if you're willing to waste time and aggravation for the extra money. To me, it was.
  10. Bachelor party in Chicago this weekend. Sigh. Looks like i have to wait till next year now. Will hopefully have a dedicated track bike by then.
  11. I want to play with the cool kids. Someone shave 15 seconds off my lap times asap.
  12. Off topic. Going down on saturday broke both sides of the fairing stay and the steering stop. Other than that, everything else is cosmetic. Scratches on the fairings, windshield and engine covers. 90% of the fairing marks will buff out. Overall not too shabby. I think my leg and head broke most of the impact.
  13. I'm going to. I already have the stuff to do it. Was waiting until i got the black weed fabric down and use the stakes to help hold it down. I should probably get something up though now until i do it next year.
  14. HAHA. That's a good one. My understanding was as long as it doesn't have a permanent foundation, you didn't need a permit.
  15. Trailer goes in garage. I like the trees. I only have a few in my back yard and would rather not cut them down. I'll probably curse myself for now making it bigger but at the moment, it's more than i need.
  16. It's main purpose is to hold the bikes. I have another shed in the back that has mower, snowblower, ect. So right half will have bikes. Left side will have 2' shelves with some walking space.
  17. And it's pretty sweet. My garage is already too small so i decided to build a second shed. It will store my bike, future track bike and my power tools that are lining the walls of the garage. This will also allow me to put my harbor freight folding trailer in the garage during winter. 10' x 8' with 7 1/2ft walls. 3/4" plywood flooring. I have to wait until next year to paint the trim and ramp to allow the pressure treated wood to dry out. Also waiting until next year to finish the landscaping. Still trying to figure out what kind of flooring to put down. Open to any suggestions. What i started with. $1700 for a concrete foundation. No thanks. 1200lbs of topsoil to level the ground out. Less than $100. Foundation done. Walls up. Everything within 1/4" square. My little helper aka the wife. Made my own trusses. Roof done and siding corners pieces up. Siding done. I matched it as close as i could. I think it's the color my house use to be. Electrical done. I installed a motion detection switch for the interior lights. Turns on when the doors open. Motion light installed outside. Fence removed and doors completed. Ramp built and fence relocated in final pic that was at the beginning of this thread.
  18. HAHA. I want to see this footage. I was the one that was face down in the grass.
  19. Today was a great day. Fastest laps yet and no problem with passing or being passed. Everything seemed in much more control until.... guy slid out in front of me. Went into the grass trying to not hit his bike sliding across the track. I thought i was going to keep it up but could not. Whacked my head more than i thought. Got to take a ride on the meatwagon (not the fun kind) to the hospital. All test came back good, possible minor concussion. Pretty sure trmn8tr stopped by to say hi between going down and ambulance ride, but don't really recall anything other than him saying he was trmn8tr. Looking back, if i tried to go inside of the slidding bike, i probably could have. But i hit the brakes and stood the bike up as soon as i saw the bike sliding up and toward me. Overall the bike survived unharmed except for some cosmetic damage. Most will probably buff out if i care to try. I was going to buy a track bike next year, this one probably just took it's spot. I'll probably get a newer 675 for a daily driver now.
  20. I have two videos from that Monday. They are from the back of the bike, can't really see too much. I wouldn't mind some pointers or if you see me doing something wrong. I know i need to get my head out a little more. I don't have one of when i got passed on the inside though.
  21. The monday was pretty light in I. I think there was 8 signed up. It was a day where A got to go out with I too. Overall though it seemed like an open track. I didn't have a problem passing people. I waited until i had a clean pass set up and pushed it if i could. If not, i just stayed in tow until i could attempt another clean one. But with few people, that was only like once a session. I also got passed multiple times that day. But usually it was on the straights or the outside of turns. None of those really bothered me. A couple dived inside going into 1 and that wasn't too bad either. I was able to move my line out a little and was ok. But at the same time i expected to get passed on the straight. I think it was the surprise of him between 2 and 3 that threw me off. I don't want to over estimate my abilities, but i don't know if N would add that much value at this point. I can hold a line, i don't move down or up through the turn. I had an A guy follow me one session without me knowing and he said i looked good. No major problems with my line or style. I carry ok speed, high 20's, lap times. During N, I wouldn't get to work on the lines at the speeds that are in I and the only passing is on straights and that doesn't bother me. But at the same time i am still new enough that my concentration is on holding that line, throttle control, looking ahead through the turn. If everyone passed me on the outside, i would have no problem. I need practice with people in the inside and that'll only happen on I. I'm just concerned with getting spooked again on a full track.
  22. How many usually show up for I this late in the season? I went into I on the last monday session and felt pretty good. I had someone come inside though between 2-3 and i almost ate it. Just wasn't expecting it and went real wide going into 3 almost hitting the grass and did some tank slapping. It was my own fault, he wasn't anywhere near me really, just got spooked and lost concentration for a second. If there are 20+ bikes out there, i fear the same thing will happen again with worse results. I know it takes track time to improve but i'm still nervous around other bikes i guess.
  23. I want to be baller enough to be in first by a 4-5 seconds and pop a wheelie down the front straight. Very nicely done. Great job racers. I'll someday be at that level to join in on the festivities on Sunday.
