  1. I'll be picking up 4 certificates this year if they have the same deal.
  2. I had the recall done on both my 675's and they blew the main fuse under the seat on one. Didn't find out till i got it home off the trailer. Lesson learned. Always start the bike at the dealer before loading it onto the trailer.
  3. I have a 2010 Scion xB and my wife had a 2009 tC. We bought them both new. She upgraded to the 2014 Mazda6 when they came out. But we both love/d the scions. Not 1 issue between the two of them other than crappy mpg. Mainly because they only had 4-speeds. The newer tC's have a 5-speed. I use the xB to tow my track bike around, some of you may have seen it. I have 63,000 miles so far. Only cost so far is brakes, oil and tires. But both of our scions used the corolla 2.4 engine. I doubt they used a mazda chassis for the iA as scion is a toyota sub-brand. But they may have.
  4. I got a hold of Rueben and will likely be sending my forks to him. His comment was 'someone has adapted the GSX-R cartridges to the stock Showa Triumph forks'. He has no issues with doing the service with the GSXR cartridges. Thanks for the replies all. I'm already itching to get on the track again.
  5. Thanks for all the input! I appreciate it. I'll call up some of the places and hopefully get parts out in the next few weeks.
  6. Damnit. Can someone move this to the Track Days / Road Racing forum. Not sure how i ended up here.
  7. I want to get my forks freshened up for next year. First they are the springs that came with the bike which was set for a rider 60lbs heavier than I. And they have at least two seasons of riding on them (how long i have owned the bike). Per the seller, they have 25mm Ohlins but i am having a hard time tracking that down. The fork states '122358 FGK1190'. From what google tells me, those are GSXR1000 forks. I'd like to get the forks refreshed and possibly have the cartridges replaced with something better for my weight. I have a request out to Ohlins, will see what they come back with. TL:DR - Where do you send your forks or do you do it yourself.
  8. That bike is gorgeous (i'm jealous). I'm going through the same thing. Pretty sure i'm selling my street Daytona 675 next spring.
  9. I have a oval head and used a spoon on my first helmet to help aleave the forhead issue. Worked well but i feared about crash impact (and it was a cheap helmet). At motorcycle show two years ago i was measured by the Arai rep and was told to go with their Signet-Q helmet. When i tried it on, it felt really nice. No forehead push at all. Only problem is i thought all their helmets were ugly. Since we get one free return with Ridersdiscount, i would use the Signet-Q as my backup. I ended up buying a Bell Star Carbon as it too us a slightly oval helmet. I wore it in the house for 40 minutes when i received it and left no red impression or headache. I've used it as my road and track helmet for two years and have had no issues of red spotting or headaches like my old helmet. TL:DR - Check our Bell Start and Arai Signet-Q
  10. Every time I've been there the last few years they have had tire service. But with this being a short notice weekend, I have no idea. Try giving Mid-O a call and see if they know.
  11. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to go but already have plans for both days. And I can't get out of either of them.
  12. I can never sleep well the night before track days. Even tried the Zzzzzquil stuff and still woke up at like 3am.
  13. I had another great day yesterday. Tied my personal best of 1:49.2 with a couple others in the 49's. I was consistently in the 50/51's all afternoon which is an improvement over last time. I felt like my front was sliding a lot though. I had two big pucker moments, one in 9 and had to clean my pants out after the one in 11. Right before the hill crest it slid and i really though i was going down. I let off the gas some (not chop) and don't know if that is what your suppose to do but i came out shiny side up. There was not one crash in intermediate all day. I really though there was zero for all groups until i read his statement above.
  14. I'm in for Wed along with 1 or 2 others from my work. Hoping the Tuesday crowd will clean up the track pretty well.
  15. DOH! Heal up quick! Did the gas tank split open?
  16. Glad it's not anything more serious than that. Bike looked pretty battered when i walked by.
  17. Yep. Was a great day today. A nice shower during lunch to cool everyone down. I had a personal best of 1:49.2 during the last session. Hope F4iguy is ok. I met him in person today for the first time.
  18. I'm in for Tuesday. Too bad I've ran out of gift certs already.

As long as i wasn't holding you up, that's great. I bought one of the new cheap go pro hero's. Just haven't had time to figure out what mounting hardware i need yet. MMMMM....... i haven't smelled that since i was pit bitch for my buddy racing go-carts in high school.

I thought it seemed more slick than usual. I was in a funk all day and was running 3-4 seconds off my pace from last time. It wasn't until the last session that i felt like i was in a rhythm. But a off day at the track is still better than a good day at work.

http://www.midohio.com/School/Courses/Motorcycles/Performance-Track-Riding Click on the requirements tab. It'll show you gear and bike requirements. I've never had my license checked while signing up. Since you are on private property, not sure if you need any type of license at all.
