  1. I'm by no means an expert on this, but the blue lines there to and from the catch can seem to be the "standard" for the engines and makes perfect sense to me. What always seems unclear is what to do with the valve covers. Newer engines with the PCV in the valey just run the passenger side valve cover to the throttle body and cap off the driver's cover from the factory. Of course the older stuff is different because they didn't have it in the valley. Personally I'd just run the valve covers to the TB without the can on that line.
  2. I was under the impression RX7s have a longer pinion.
  3. Bump for the wheels and hitch, make offer.
  4. I think I'll be listing this elsewhere now that racing season is approaching, but bump it anyway.
  5. I'm all for doing it as much as possible, maybe only give up for the holidays in december and january.
  6. Sounds like something is loose, did you shake it down? Possible strut plate, ball joint, ect.
  7. Wow a Miller thread that doesn't suck. Nice work on the interior parts, maybe I'll get to see it sometime.
  8. More like have random racers show up to beat my ass. :gabe:
  9. Is this something you want to tackle yourself? Guess what I did before I worked on cars? Seriously though I'll make you the same deal as when I offered to help you with your car.
  10. Thank God. I've been going out and just sitting in the garage because I'm so sick of waiting around for race season.
  11. Not really, some dealerships are bad about only wanting to use the banks they are getting good kickbacks from but for the most part a good finance guy is just that. Larger dealerships typically can do just as good for someone with great credit as they can with someone who needs special financing. The best advice is to educate yourself on your credit situation and what good rates are at the time of purchase, then shop accordingly be it with a bank directly or the finance manager at a dealership.
  12. If your credit is good most dealers will finance where you want and give you options. Worst thing you can do is say no to their offer. Personally this is how I've usually bought cars and taking them home that day is simple. If you want to go through your personal bank go talk to them and get pre-approved, then when you find the exact car you want you may have to go back and get the check. This is how friends of mine have done it, my wife about 15 year ago was with Nationwide Credit Union and they gave her a letter of approval and then the dealer took care of it. Depending on the bank or credit union I doubt you'll be taking it home the same day unless you make the dealer do all the paperwork.
  13. You'll just have to put the schrader valve back into the end of the fule rail when you remove the line.
  14. Since Dover's thread got me thinking, and starting my own small auto shop is something I'd like to do in the future, how would you go about starting one? Would you start off really small in your own garage at home? Take more risk right off the bat and get a small place? How would you draw people to it? This is just a brainstorming thread, I'm not going to run out and do it this year.
  15. You enjoy your birthday old man I'm not having one this year.
  16. I see that being a strong possibility in my future, but it would have to be further down the road for it to work for me. Thanks for the compliment.
  17. Are you putting in a second pump yet? The Racetronix kit should come with the section in the tank. If you need more they sell it. Seems reasonable enough though I'm sure other places have it. http://www.racetronix.biz/items.asp?Cc=WIRE%2D05%2D14&iTpStatus=0&Tp=&Bc= edit: sorry I see you only bought the harness, not the complete kit. http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.asp?ic=ITWH%2D022&eq=&Tp=
  18. I would start a small automotive shop, given my skill set and that people always seem to be looking for a good deal on car repairs I think that would be my best bet. I would also like to get into helping people work the bugs out of their projects, and helping to finish them by doing things like alignments and tuning that most people don't have an easy way to accomplish.
  19. You're lucky, my wife pitches a bitch about new parts in the living room let alone old ones in her kitchen. I look forward to seeing this car out.
  20. 1.Take Maxima to scrap yard. 2.Take what you can get. 3. Use the money for the baby and be a good father. I have zero respect for someone wasting what little money they have on a worthless turd like a junk Maxima when they have a newborn and government assistance. The fact that you even think its a possibility pisses me off. Don't be dumb.

  22. Well I'm bringing 2 people with me so there should be some people there. I don't expect to make it up there until about 10 at the earliest.
  23. I would love to come to the hangout if others are interested.
  24. May just be worth swinging by a dealership, those things are usually in stock and I would rather just pick up what I know will work rather then hunt around and dick with the parts store trying to figure out a 50 cent part. Dealer is likely around $5.
