This was more hectic then usual, but again Anthony, and Tina pulled off another fun time. Thank you. Another huge thanks to Aaron, Miller, and everyone else that helped out with the autocross. I had a blast. Derek brought out some great BBQ for a convenient and tasty lunch, that was great too. The Corvette was awesome, running 11.95 at 122 and then running a 30.3xx in the autocross. Couldn't have been more fun for me. Working some new parts out in Wagner's ride, went 11.06 at 121. Making progress. How'd everyone else do?

Long pants have always been a thing for drag racing. Autocross not so much. If it were me I'd throw a pair of pants in the car just in case because if you're just running a street car you may get away with it.

That depends on the vehicle in question, I can tell you GM won't flash anything in most of its full time AWD systems, but it will bind and cause damage. These systems I'm refering to have no way to disengage so they aren't "smart" enough to know of any issues. Even like a Traverse with part time AWD won't warn you it'll just burn up the clutch at the rear diff.

Yes it does matter, but generally tires that are close will not cause an issue. My training all comes from General Motors and they have a somewhat over thought out process to measure rollout. The 3/32nds rule is pretty good in most cases, you really need an extreme difference in wear to cause damage in most all wheel drive vehicles. However I can tell you Subaru is probably the most sensitive, they take the "symmetrical" in symmetrical all wheel drive seriously. For the record I have fixed a few AWD issues because some idiot just put 2 new tires on a vehicle even though the other 2 were worn out too. Thus causing a big difference in rollout, which is the real reason any of this matters.

Calling out anyone who wants to take their autocross time add it to their quarter mile time and see who's faster.

Ok I'm confused by this post. What do you mean? I'm feeling like this car is pretty much where I want it, so....
-
Not for drag racing. To be honest I really wanted to take the whole car to a higher level, making it go, steer, and stop better. So in short it's not really built for anything, it's just built for me. This is also why I'm not selling it.

So a little update, I went out to Trails Wednesday night. Car ran 11.97 at 121. I'm happy with that, I realize with that mph it should be quicker, but it wasn't set up to be a drag car. Not too bad for a 21 year old car on street tires.

Awesome, I'll look forward to that. Wife didn't want me to miss the track day, so even though it's our anniversary she's pushing me to go. She loves me.

Austin is right on the money, there isn't much of a margin on tires (or batteries and fluids for that matter). IMHO Tire Rack is hard to beat, may not always be the cheapest when shopping on the internet, but at least you'll get good tires from a company that stands behind their products. I've bought a ton of tires online, typically the cheapest are so old they're almost not worth using. Granted the tires I bought earlier this year were from Derek but he basically saved me shipping from Tire Rack, especially since I just install them myself.

Probably not the last time we see an idiot crash one of these. Almost feel bad for him doing it about as publicly as possible, but he's still an idiot.

Try not to take this the wrong way, but it wasn't cancelled it was postponed. We've been asking for people to commit to it for weeks, so waiting until the last minute wasn't helping. Hopefully your 20 people can come on the 24th.

This. Amy Schumer is a left wing annoying cunt who makes shitty movies and worse comedy. I'm not a big Melissa McCarthy fan but I don't mind her.
-
Well that's my wedding anniversary, guess I'm out.
-
The only reason I haven't shared it more is because it's already shared to all the FB groups I visit. I don't know what else any of us can do, it'll be a real shame to lose this event.

If you have to wait more then 15 minutes to make a pass then someone made a mess on the track. I have been to most CR track days for the last 10 years it's nothing like you're thinking.

You could buy an old 8 series BMW, maybe, I mean you could put loud "pipes" on an older Mustang and non-car people will think it's fast too. What's the point of this?
-
Well I'm not sure how that's the case. Some of these actors have contracts and other movies that have been announced that contradicts the characters that disappeared so...

Best review of the movie I have read, will read again.   I like the theory about the soul stone playing Thanos. Making him think it all happened. That scene was a little odd to me where Gamora disappears into oblivion and Thanos wakes up with the soul stone. I feel like that's a possibility for them to expand on that as the whole thing just being a misdirection. I don't know. The thing that I found so great about the movie is how it left most people and in shock at the end. My daughter and I were honestly mad when we left the theater. After it sank in of course I want to see the next movie, that's genius.

The swap wouldn't be hard, it would bolt in. I'd assume your sons truck is a TBI 4.3, so you need the wiring, ECM, and fuel system from the CPI truck. Fuel pump in the tank is different because CPI has higher fuel pressure. Overall it would be easier then a 3800 in a Fiero. If it's a 4.3 truck why is he fucking with a 2.8? That's not the same at all. Different bellhousing, different mounts, different exhaust manifolds/y-pipe. That sure sounds counter productive.

Okay Wagner, we get it, you like shit throwing.

Used to go to that station all the time, I guess my suspicions of them not keeping up on the place were right. Shame you had to deal with that, it's shitty. Had my card skimmed at the Speedway just down from there. I'm about ready to move, this is just yet another annoying thing about the area.

The whole reason I didn't just buy a Magnum when I swapped my car is because it doesn't put the shifter even close. The are some companies who modify the Magnum to use the f-body tailhousing but it adds alot to the price. Honestly I wish I had just coughed up the money for it.
-
You may want to research shifter placement, there are a ton of options. However short of a remote mount shifter like the newer TR6060, the f-body/GTO T56 has the shift box much further back then your typical Magnum trans. So let's make it simple, buy LQ9, install damn near any camshaft, and you'll make 400ish wheel. Or buy an LQ4, buy some used 799 heads to bump compression, install same what the fuck ever camshaft, and make over 400 wheel. Spend a little more on some head porting or an intake and make a little more. Picking out a camshaft is where you'll get a different opinion from everyone. Spend some time reading camshaft stuff on Brian Tooley's or Texas Speed's or Cammotion's websites. Person nally for a weekend toy, as opposed to a drag car, I'd want something in the 23x duration, .550-.625 lift cams. Would be a decent option in a 6.0l.

What the hell are you trying to say? What's a factory video? Or video factory? Something built during the glory days of Blockbuster Video.
