  1. When you take it somewhere tell them it pulls right. Don’t show up and say “I need an alignment”. This is one of my biggest peeves as a tech. Find someone with a clue and let them diagnose why it does what you think it shouldn’t. More things then an alignment can cause a pull. Sounds like you need someone who understands more then setting toe with a couple wrenches.
  2. The wires inside the transmission are part of the speed sensors. 220 is not abnormal on these transmissions, but I would prefer a cooler if it were mine anyway. The speed sensors are under the valve body and the TEHCM (transmission electro hydraulic control module) inside the pan, not overly hard to do but I would recommend properly installing these parts with a torque wrench, and you may need external torx plus sockets for a couple of the fasteners. The other thing to consider is that speed sensor issues are also very likely when there is metal stuck to them because they are magnets. If you decide to tackle this and find any debris stuck to them then you are done and would need a rebuild. Also note these require Dex6 ATF, anything else is not good for it.
  3. Unless you can find a set of the not so common low offset ZR1 replicas, your typical C4 ZR1 wheel will need about a 2” spacer. They get used on Syclones because AWD and 4WD truck have a wider track width with higher offset wheels.
  4. Fortunately an S10 can use just about anything that fits GM RWD hotrods with a 5x4.75. Leaving lots of options. I certainly like the look of what’s on Nickey’s truck, but there are many variations on that style out there. So many choices, I’d love to see some 17s like a CCW classic on this truck. I love the S10 platform, I’ve had 5, and I doubt I’ve had my last. Almost pursued this particular one when I saw it for sale, but I’m happy to see it getting treated well. I don’t post much in these build threads but I’m enjoying this one.
  5. Have you checked fuel pressure? Of all the cheap people, why would you throw a fuel pump at it if you don’t know if it needs it or not?
  6. Start with a fuel pressure gauge, should be 58 PSI, see if its dropping under load. Likely a fuel pump, pretty sure those still have a fuel filter on the frame rail (newer ones don't) so change that regardless. If there's a feed and return coming off the rail the regulator is on the rail (probably this), otherwise trucks after that are returnless and the regulator is part of the sending unit in the tank. Also beware of aftermarket distributor caps, cheaper caps have a tendency to arc inside the cap where they cross each other. I wouldn't buy anything other then a GM cap, maybe NAPA. Some cheap shit won't last long if it doesn't start screwing up as soon as you install it.
  7. Yes he is. However he apparently didnt look at the thread again.
  8. So my Dad still has this bike, and no I didn’t feel like making a new thread. He’s being a little more realistic asking $2500. It now has about 8500 miles on it, and a new battery. I rode it last night and it works flawlessly. It’s kept inside covered up and looks no different then the pictures of it above. Super clean bike, would make good transportation or a first bike for someone. I wish someone would buy it so my Dad will stop bothering me with it.
  9. I see you used what I said. That’s why I have these in my toolbox, big ones for stripped lugnuts or wheel locks, smaller ones for this stuff.
  10. I joined after George Stanton’s crash, like right after, but didn’t hear about it until I joined. That had a big impact, but the big deal on 71 was the second nail in the coffin. Some of us continued for the next few years but it really fell off. I’m fairly disconnected from it all now so it’s hard to say if there will be a resurgence. Like many things I’m sure we’ll see it again, but to what capacity is hard to say.
  11. I don't agree with this, I'm still having adrenaline withdraw. No amount of videos (and I watch plenty) can make up for being there. It's pretty hard to go street racing without people who are out looking for it. Besides I currently feel like there are a few guys with really fast cars, and a lot of kids with nearly stock stuff, doesn't make for fun racing anyway.
  12. I’d probably use a twist socket and an impact after I tried a torx bit.
  13. Post something that cost $20 and ask to borrow Pretty sure they rent these at the autoparts store too.
  14. Nice website. Glad to see you doing well with all the quality work I’ve seen.
  15. If someone takes anything; sport bike, Harley, or car, and goes out pushing the limits knows that they are taking risks. I’ve done it, I still do it. It’s fun and exciting, I try to keep the risk to a minimum and I don’t take others to the limit with me, but I realize my risk taking could kill me. I’ve been hurt, had accidents, and it has cost me in many ways, but life is not about playing it safe and being boring. What the people who write this shit don’t realize is that some people are just thrillseekers, and they will do dangerous activities regardless. If people die doing what they wanted to do then I don’t feel bad whatsoever, if I get myself killed doing what I wanted it’ll suck but I’d rather it be like that then to live a dull life and die wishing I had done more.
  16. Very tempting, participated a few times, good event for a good cause.
  17. I got to hear a GT350 exhaust note in person once, I look forward to us being at the same autocross so I can hear it again. Certainly a cool car and someone who will drive it like it was meant to be,
  18. Supposedly a meet in Newark tonight, debating on going out there.
  19. Interesting to me how you're about a second slower in the quarter and a second faster around the autocross then I am. You have always been faster then me at an autocross event anyway, oh well. White Corvettes for the win.
  20. Black GTO, big cowl hood, loud? My buddy Kyle, he doesn't really get on here much, Chavo360 is his screen name. Car made it home but it was knocking pretty bad, loosing oil pressure.
  21. I need to actually put good tires on mine, we might be close. The NT05s with a 7 year old DOT# don't work that well, and they got hot and greasy easily today.
