  1. I agree with those that just run it to avoid the hassle. There are holes under the one on the Camaro (where dumbasses riveted the plate bracket through the grill), and I didn't get the filler panel with the Vette so I just put the plate on. The other cars don't look like anything special so it really isn't worth it.
  2. They bolt right on any C5 or C6 (same spindles), not positive of price but I doubt you'll get more then $1k. Seems to me you can get them around $2k new, probably less. Been awhile since I was looking, ended up going Wilwoods for better wheel options.
  3. If you are going to be spending time thrashing on a road course you'll definitely want the PCV connected to engine vacuum (likely through a catch can) with just one breather to allow fresh air into the crank case. Just having breathers on the valve covers may work, but if the engine is able to push any oil out the breathers you could have a fire (worst case, and not super likely seeing how it's not boosted). Having vacuum will also help ring seal. If it were just something to tool around on the street where you wouldn't be seeing a lot of RPMs constantly it wouldn't matter as much, but the harder the engine works the easier it can pressurize the crankcase.
  4. How's it go, go big or go home? We've never met but I'm guessing you just need someone to say go option 3 and fuck these other lesser ideas.
  5. Die Hard. Why? Because played out Christmas crap gets old. Same shitty movies since I was a kid at least watching Hans Gruber fall out of the Nakatomi tower is a great ending to a decent action movie. Like others who posted above I'm pretty over Christmas, enjoy making my daughter happy and seeing my parents, every other relative I really liked is dead.
  6. Well it's still against the rules in a for sale thread. Wasn't doing anything here unless Grant complains. Besides this is how you respond to challenges? Race or don't, CR winter setting in.
  7. Well I already banned him for posting that in the for sale thread. Obviously just doesn't care.
  8. This, have been around them in the past, have not and would not have.
  9. I think most important is having something that can pull out of traffic and go from 60-80 in quick time. I hate driving a fucking turd. My Impala is not really a fast car, but having GM's 3.6 it'll pull out and pass better then alot of shit. Everything else is useless without that.
  10. I really like heated/cooled seats, I never realized how nice cooled seats are until I starting using them in cars I test drive. I'm also a big fan of adaptive cruise. Two options my cars don't have that I'd like. The backup camera is really nice, it makes it a lot easier to get cars in and out of the shop, so it is convenient. I'm just not sure it's a selling point for me.
  11. Rust, rust seems to attack everything on these trucks, especially the brake and fuel lines.
  12. This is exactly what companies, General Motors and the like, are talking about when they started calling themselves "Transportation Companies", no longer referring to the physical products thay make but the way they will offer it to you.
  13. I just want to say this in regards to really fast cars and any sort of licensing, the more I think about that situation, the more it goes against my beliefs. Anything is dangerous in the wrong hands, so I don't think we need to make it harder to get into a car like this. It would just make sense to keep it out of incapable hands, but there's the rub and why it relates to guns. More laws only make it harder on the law abiding people, while dumbasses who don't care about laws would likely be the idiots killing themselves or others. Companies should be offering free or low cost instruction on a track to their customers, and I beleive this has happened in various forms with various cars over the years anyways. Unfortunately there is only so much that can be done without making it harder on decent people because you can't fix stupid. Thanks LPFStheFett for pointing that out.
  14. There are so many options out there, anything sold currently should work fine for pulling codes. It's when you want more out of it that you need to spend more. Launch and Autel are a couple companies I've used that work great for a cheaper price, I have a handheld Lauch that does Engine, trans, ABS, and Airbag codes that only cost like $350, its what I use for quick stuff rather then setting up all my factory GM stuff. So just getting something to do Engine/trans shouldn't be more then $50.
  15. I bet you pocket scanner isn't CANbus compatible. Get a new scanner. If it's powering up it's not a fuse in the car.
  16. This is along my thinking, not that I don't think it wouldn't be fun, but someone who has no experience with a fast car jumps in something like this and gets hurt.
  17. Am I the only one starting to wonder why we need cars like this? I don't mean electric, I mean speed wise. I like fast cars as much as the next guy, but 1.9 seconds to 60, there are people who would literally pass out. 8 second quarter mile, what the fuck? It's awesome if you're talking about race cars, but some half wit with too much money will own this. There should be some good stories if these make it to the street. I get that it's an awesome car, and really shows off Tesla's tech, just wow.
  18. A lot of good advice in this thread so far. Rick, I like you ideas, certainly sounds familiar. I like the welding idea, might have to look into that one.
  19. Been thinking about this thing for years, not sure what it would be for me.
  20. I actually like driving the Impala, 300hp V6 that gets out of its own way, has a comfy seat, and doesn't have any stupid quirks. The other two, well I get your point, but hate driving either of them in any weather and they are full of stupid little quirks. Call it character or whatever, wouldn't bother most people, but after trying to fix stupid little squeaks and rattles all day making everyone else's car perfect mine annoy me.
  21. Not planning on trying hard to sell anything in the very near future, probably won't try very hard to sell in the spring either. Here's my issue the one with the sentiment is the worse car performance wise, and is why I've hung on to having both cars.
  22. So let's start this thread by saying that I'm bored with my cars. They aren't doing it for me anymore. I don't know what else I would want, but I feel like these have run their course. The Camaro I probably should've given up long ago, I just keep throwing money at it doing different things. I am however pretty attached to the car, I'm pretty centimental over it since I've had it since 03. I'm afraid if I get rid of it I'll regret it later, but it doesn't really do anything. The Corvette I bought 3 years ago, I had just sold my Miata and this was the first thing that came along. I fixed a bunch of stuff and sorted it out, and thought I'd do more autocross but I really haven't. I really don't want to mod it to death like I did the Camaro so it's become pointless. Maybe I'm just mental, but I'm not enjoying the car scene anymore. Nobody I want to hang out with meets, or races. The best things I did all year were hanging out with Doc and a couple CR track days, both are fun but it wasn't because I was excited about cars. (Although I did enjoy driving the Slingshot). My personal life used to revolve around friday and saturday night because of cars, and I'm still hung up on it but it's not there. I'm more annoyed then anything when I go into my garage. So here's the point, anyone else feel like this? I've never gotten rid of a modded car, what could I expect if I did? The Camaro is the first thing I really did much too. I suppose that's why a lot of people part them out? What do you think they're worth?
  23. I have to agree with this. I say we just start our own group looking for people who aren't out to talk shit, just have fun and enjoy a 500hp car. I bet there are many more like us that have disappeared because they think they need 1k wheel so they don't get laughed at. I'm down.
  24. Call some places like, Cleveland Power and Performance, or Hawks. Those places specialize in used parts.
