  1. After the driveline is together lowering it some is going to happen, but I can't do Farkas low. Maybe an inch to inch and a quarter.
  2. Call Hawks 3rd gen, they have all kinds of 3rd and 4th gen parts. Recently picked up all NOS GM parts to change my console over to a 6 speed.
  3. If Tom can run his C6Z I'm sure this will run fine.
  4. Now I just have to patiently collect parts and save money, the hardest part of a project for me.
  5. Pretty much, thats why a 408, and 4.10 gears are at the top of my list.
  6. The kind of shit you come up with, I'm not surprised in the least anymore with how your threads go. It's amazing that anyone gives you a serious answer anymore. My serious answer- Finding a basic rental agreement shouldn't be hard. Fill it out, both parties sign it, do it in front of a notary. My not very serious answer- Thank you Buster for not living in government housing, but maybe you should get her car in the house deal too. Win win for you.
  7. You do realize I'm just razzing you. I took a little break from CR so I could calm down and not get carried away taking it too serious like i was starting to do a few months ago.
  8. We'll see, at least you'll be the only I've ever seen autocross one.
  9. The thought of the 6 speed is to make decent power N/A and just go for the old school muscle car feel. Not really fast (by modern standards) just something to hoon around in. My interpretation of an old school muscle car is tire shreading, raw, unrefined, loud, and obnoxious. If I was to leave it auto, then some sort of power adder and get back to running 10s. I started buying 6 speed parts because I have a "been there done that" attitude towards that. Drag racing doesn't interest me, it's fun to do once in a while, but modding my car to go in that direction lost its fun a few years ago. So as you can see I've pretty much made up my mind, just wanted to see some other's opinions or ideas. Which people can still post.
  10. and I figured Jones would buy an Aston. I've seen a few in white Pearl, they are very pretty cars. So I get walked by the TTRS at autocross, I guess now I won't even look at the times.
  11. Says the guy who cusses and swears every time he drives a 6 speed f-body. I've been thinking about doing this swap for a while now, having the Miata to do autocross and such really makes me think twice about swapping the Camaro. When it ran 10s it was fun, but ultimately I had lots of fun banging gears in Tina's Firebird and only running 12s.
  12. You know old man I figured you'd know that it's "You're". I'm not selling it either.
  13. Anyone who knows me knows that I debate about my car all the time. At this point it has the nitrous motor in it still, a mild 4L60, and a stock 10 bolt. Laying in the garage next to it is most of a T56 swap, another stock 10 bolt, and an LQ4 that needs rebuilt. I ultimately will buy another rear end, likely a Moser 9" eventually. What direction would you go? I can easily get the money back out of these 6 speed parts so I'm not dead set on swapping it.
  14. Since you've checked the fuse (I would check all of the fuses since other fuses/modules effect the serial buss)n then you need to pull the radio and check for power and ground. If you can't find a scematic I can post one when I get home. That'll narrow it down to the serial buss or the radio, likely being the radio. Let us know how it goes.
  15. I'm going to play devil's advocate for a minute, doing all this based off of what some other DB is doing is stupid. Trying to make it into something it wasn't intended to be in the first place is also stupid. What we have been doing has worked fine for years now. So I do not agree with this new approach. I will continue to come and tell people about it like I always have but if things start to get dumb I want no part of it. I feel that this will effectivly change the atmosphere and potential do more harm then good. I hope I am wrong.
  16. I've replaced pleny of GM radios, but you have to check for power and ground and those have a serial data circuit that triggers the radio to "wake up" coming from the body control module. Does it power up at all? Not play anything? What do you mean by doesn't work?
  17. Never delt there personally, but heard nothing but shady stories about him.
  18. Why does it look so much like a 67 Mustang? I'm willing to bet a company like Dynacorn (who already makes reproduction Mustang bodies) is manufacturing the body. It would explain why the Dynacorn parts have more bracing and are made like a modern day car part then an old 60s part. http://www.dynacornclassicbodies.com/ford_models2.html
  19. Well they already built Costco right next to that, so I can't say I'm surprised.
  20. Well an old thread resurection. At first I was like "Fill is posting?", then I looked at the date. Street Outlaws is a tv show, just like Fast and Furious is a movie. Some people really need to learn the difference between fiction and non-fiction. That magic box in your living room that you stare at is all fiction, even most of the news.
  21. Yup. You can have the valley cover too if you want, I have enough of that crap anyway. Obviously it has a truck oil pan on it.
  22. Wagner I know you're going to look at this and yes you need it.
  23. I picked this up a few months ago, and just think I'm going to go in a different direction. I bought it after it sat for who knows how long, but after cleaning it up it looks to be a very rebuildable core. Light rust so it will need rebuilt, perfect for that 370ci project. Will post some pics when I get home. PM me if interested.
  24. So what is going to be the weak link that breaks with 150tq increase? The factory limits the car for a reason, whether its to increase the longevity of certain parts, emissions, or some other reason. It's good to know why it doesn't make more power from the factory. Don't get me wrong making more power is cool, and I'm all for it, I just don't want to see your car broken in a few months. Take my Camaro for example, I removed the limiters and it broke the flexplate. Pretty soon the trans stared slipping, not to mention all the weak stock rear axle issues. 4th gen f-bodies were a case of putting a V6 drivetrain behind a good running V8. However you take my Miata and you don't have those issues, the stock tuning and related stuff limits stuff due to emissions, and you have to try to break stuff as the car can be pushed on the stock parts for awhile. Just my two cents, I wish you good luck modding your Saab.
