  1. I think you were doing just fine. You were riding within your limits, when I made some questionable passes, you waited until it was a bit safer, but you weren't afraid to stick it in on a pass either. Definitely the key to being successful on the street is trying to take corners as wide as you comfortably can. This gives you the greatest line of sight and thus giving you the most time for adjustments for unforeseen circumstances that can arise. A lot! Usually riding up 83N is a ton of fun because you are in a groove, but we just ran into too much traffic that we couldn't get free from it, even as many cars as we hop scotched our way through. I would have liked to been able to have a bit more fun up 83, but what can you do. I know in the past, for anyone who really wanted to work on improving their riding, Tony has gotten a group together to ride the metroparks in Brecksville and through the Peninsula valley and took quite a few stops to discuss and improve techniques. Maybe we should consider another one of them for anyone wanting to do so.
  2. yea, we were waiting on everyone to make it to that intersection. once I saw the cop behind you, I wasn't going to wait to see if he wanted to pull us all over so I decided to go. We waited for the rest at the intersection where 83 turns N, and 93 keeps going. About 5 minutes of waiting, tpoppa rolled by with the statee still behind him. He continued down 93. Tim and I bolted up 83 shortly thereafter. Didn't want him turning around and coming for us.
  3. Home as well. 427 miles. Pics coming. The real question is for tpoppa. Did he get you or just follow you the entire time?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Yea, 915 is probably pretty close. Also FYI to anyone planning on attending. Marietta looks like it might possibly rain down near the river. 0% at New Concord but 20% near Marietta and it's been fluctuating, so we may need to adjust the route as we go if we see showers, but shouldn't be a problem. Look forward to seeing as many of you in the morning!
  6. Gas station is a Stop-N-Go Address: Stop 'N Go825 Dover RdWooster, OH 44691 Probably meet around 7:30am - Kickstands up at 8:00. Taking 83 down so if Coshocton or Millersburg is easier for some, then just jump in as we roll through. ETA Millersburg will be around 830ish and Coshocton about 8:50ish. I'd like to not stop again until New Concord after leaving Wooster. First stop will likely be this Fuel Mart. Fuel Mart201 W Main StNew Concord, OH 43762
  7. Weather is clearing up so looks like this will be a go for those who want to attend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. All good Jim, it's understandable. Not sure the weather is gonna hold up anyways.
  9. Welcome back Doc! Now you better be there at the start of our ride next weekend (weather permitting of course)
  10. Welcome back to the chaos.
  11. Yea, pace won't be quite so brisk. Nothing like passing a Sheriff right out of Millersburg and having to ramp it up to about 110 through that first good section.
  12. I'm not saying this was the same reason for Hellmutt, but I was a bit nervous going down there and I wanted to make my first trip with some close friends so I can experience it first my own way before trying to tackle it all with a group of people I'm only relatively familiar with. Hindsight, wouldn't have mattered, I was overthinking it in my own head. I'll be planning to attend with the rest of you hooligans next year.
  13. As some of you may remember from last year, my twin brother passed away in a motorcycle accident on July 12, 2012. The closest Saturday (weather permitting) to that date, I always try to make it a point to take a ride in his memory. The plan is to leave Wooster gas station @ 83 around 7:30-8:00am. I plan to ride the entire day but if you want to come and need to leave early or jump in late, you can always jump in mid route or break off before hand. Tentative route: http://tinyurl.com/oar6unq Pace will be brisk, but no one will get left behind. We will wait for everyone at turns and stop signs. The only thing with this ride is we will be taking several gas/stretch breaks, lunch break and if needed a dinner break. It's not a memorial ride for you guys, it's just something I do on a personal level for myself to remember him my way. It's nothing more than a ride for the rest, and a bit more special for myself, so I hope those who can join will want to. Let me know. Whaler has already said he would ride. I assume possibly wolfman1, shooter66, and possibly ricer1 will attend as well.
  14. Mike! Glad to see you finally made it onto the forum! Here are some photos of you for those who want to see the bikes.
