  1. Oh and back to OP. Sorry to see you go so soon Julie. Hopefully we can get in at least one ride together before you head out.
  2. To keep is simple, I think we'll keep all the details the same for each years ride so those who couldn't make it to the first one, can still experience the same route, etc. This will save a lot of time on planning and just qualify a date and who's all going.
  3. I figured to get this ball rolling again soon. I guess no better time than now.

  7. Home Safe --- 440 miles - Excellent ride Brian and Jim. Thanks for tagging along.
  8. Leaving millersburg now. Should be to 78/83 at 10.
  9. Confirming as well. Looking forward to it Jim.
  10. That's a simple solution. Just call-in sick.
  11. A lot of guys on the Zx10r forum recommended that combo. I was tentative switching to the ST tire in the first place so I figured I could take it in moderation lol. After knowing the rear is solid I will probably go PR front next time.
  12. I ran q3's on the zx10 and got about 2500 miles out of em. Just recently switched to a Michelin pilot road 2 rear and pilot power 2ct front and I have rode the new combo harder than the q3's and no slippage and that's coming pretty hard out of a corner so I'm incredibly pleased with that combo. And being a ST rear, I expect to get 4500 or so out of the rear.
  13. We will be at the 78/83 intersection around 10:30-11am. The bucket is relatively close to that intersection, but West on 78 (I believe), we are heading East on 78,
  14. Yes, but kickstands up at 9, so try and be there a few minutes before.
  15. Sounds good man. Shoot me a PM and I can send you my cell number and maybe you can meet us somewhere. I'll be looking for this. I don't know what point D is on the map lol? Let me know the State Route or intersection. Are you talking about 83 @ Mcconnelsville? That'll probably be 10:15'ish. Let me know if that is where you are referring. Sounds good Brian. If we leave Millersburg at 9, probably means we'll be @ 83/78 around 10:30-11am. I know how hard it was when I lost my twin, so I know that pain of losing someone really close to you. Glad we can share that day together I'll look forward to next year and hopefully you'll be street ready. How about the Speedway off 83 near the end of Millersburg. I think it's 1640 S Washington St. And yea kickstands up at 9am is perfect.
  16. July 12, 2012, my twin brother passed away in a motorcycle accident. I got him into riding and he was incredibly passionate about it. Although passionate, he was very reckless, and took risks on a bike that many wouldn't even dare. Unfortunately, two years ago, he took one of those risks and paid the ultimate price. When he passed, I sold my first bike to help pay for the funeral. After a year of not riding, I realized this was something my brother wouldn't have wanted. He wanted me to ride. Therefore, I try to ride on the 12th every year in his memory. This 7-12 happens to be on a Saturday, therefore, I want to make it a long ride. Who wants to join me on Saturday 7/12/14 Plan on leaving early in the morning - like Millersburg no later than 9. I'd like to ride down to Marietta and back - 83, 78, 26,800, 7, 26, 550, 13, 78, 83. Here's tentative route: http://tinyurl.com/oar6unq Pace will be brisk, but no one will get left behind. We will wait for everyone at turns and stop signs. My family is holding a little family get together around 8pm so I want to be back by then. I have no problem leading. although my navigation skills sometimes lack, so we may have to double back every now and again. It's not a memorial ride for you guys, it's just something I do on a personal level for myself to remember him my way. It's nothing more than a ride for the rest, and a bit more special for myself, so I hope those who can join will want to. Let me know.
  17. Welcome to the forum... Nice bikes you have there.
  18. Welcome to the forum from another Akron area rider as well. This is a good place if you are willing to learn. Lots of good riders with a ton of good information. Keep an eye out in the rides and events section and hopefully you'll be able to attend some rides. That's the best way to learn.
  19. http://www.19actionnews.com/story/25923538/police-investigate-fatal-motorcycle-accident Says bike was a CBR - I'm fairly certain Brian rides a VFR
  20. Welcome to the chaos. Do you currently own a bike? Tell us about yourself. How long have you been riding, your own perceived level of riding ability, bank account information.
  21. Good ride today Whaler. 437.4 miles in total. Had to divert from the route we wanted cause of rain, but still got in some decent mileage. Video to come!
  22. Unfortunately for rider's who have been down, being tentative can be even worse. You start thinking about cornering and it gets hairy. Just keep going at it. The moment you start overthinking, is the moment survival reactions take place. Just look through the corner, keep a steady throttle hand, and the bike will be just fine. I'd bet your tires were still cold and didn't have the grip at that moment. It happens. I can assure you, the bike can do much more than what you were doing before you crashed so you have nothing really to worry about. And from the sounds of it, you have the knowledge about basic cornering from your explanation of the crash, much more than an average 1 year rider. And remember, gear is important. You can pick up a pair of textile riding pants for 100$ or so and it'll help with the injuries.
