When it comes to service companies, I honestly look for companies that have nicer looking trucks. I know this may seem weird, but if a company doesn't even want to put a decent looking vehicle on the road (and keep them maintained and clean), I don't trust them working in my house. Also, I suggest incorporating your business into a LLC. Formalizing the company with the state will protect you personally from lawsuits, register your business name in the state so no one else can use it, and gets you some tax benefits as well. Also, gives you credibility to potential customers knowing you've taken the steps to legalize with the state. The state of Ohio is a great state to incorporate in because you have no annual fees to keep it open. States like CA for example, have annual fees of $825.00/yr, but Ohio doesn't have this for LLCs or Corporations. If you file the documents yourself straight to the state dept in Columbus, it would only cost you $125.00 state fee. I do this for a living if you have questions and want assistance, I could help you. Yea without the white light lighting up the plate, driving at night, it wouldn't technically be legal, and being bent, LEOs could give you a hard time. Unlikely anything serious will happen, and if you are insured and licensed, don't worry about it. And yea, what your sister said, get an appointment to attend the MSF course and take it seriously. It is great for learning and getting familiar with riding a bike safely.

I also use the trailer for a side landscaping company - can you remove the pitbull TRS from the trailer when not in use or is a permanent install?

Looking to buy some straps for my trailer in the event I need to trailer my bike. I saw some reviews of some not so good straps, but curious what the best would be for the money. Was thinking about just doing 4 ratchet straps with soft tie down straps for around the bike....

I don't condone running from the police, but it really makes you wonder that if you are going to run, why stop in the first place? The cop has to pull out and equal your speed + make up distance. I also have no remorse for a thief either, but my brother passed away in a motorcycle accident, so I wouldn't wish that pain upon anyone's family. Glad he only had minor injuries and hopefully he'll pay the penalty of being a thief through the justice system.

That's what great customer service is about. I am still a bit skeptical that you'll actually receive the suit. I ordered some tires through motorcyclesuperstore (front & rear) and they messed up the size of the rear. I called them and they paid to have the rear returned and eventually shipped out the right stuff, and the rep said they'd throw in a free $25.00 gas card for the inconvenience. Never received the gas card. When I called back to bring it up, they said it was going to be sent through a third party and just takes a bit longer. That was 4 months ago... still haven't received it. Edit: And this is why I use RidersDiscount now

CA statistics would dispute this. - Again it is up to the rider to make sure they do it safely.

Then the law needs to have restrictions on speed when filtering. I believe California is 10mph faster than speed of traffic. So if traffic is stopped or barely moving then 10-15 mph is the speed of filtering. If someone is screaming at 80mph through stopped traffic, then they'd be breaking the law and should be stopped accordingly. If you are filtering to the front at a light, then using safe speeds to do so would be a requirement as well. Initially, sure, drivers would have to get used to it, but just as in Europe, people start to pay attention because they are used to the fact that bikes travel the space between the lanes. And to repeat, as magley has been saying, if the law passes, and you don't feel safe doing it, then don't. Just because the law allows you to, doesn't require you to do so.

Thanks for the link to that study. Some good stats on both sides of the argument. Here are some of the stats that I feel were relevant to the study. For those who claim people are going to do it that aren't experienced and at high speeds: "Of the motorcyclicts who lane split on roads other than freeways, 81.3% lane split only when traffic moves at 20MPH or less." -Sort of indicates that people are doing it in safer conditions. Another stat from the same CA survey showed that 86.7% of riders who lane-split, 86.7% split less than 15mph faster than the speed of traffic. Combining both studies that would indicate that more than 70% of people who are lane-splitting are traveling under 35mph when splitting. This number shoots up to >90% when not on highways. These speeds seem reasonably safe. Just the first couple stats I came across. Overall my general opinion is that anything that allows me to 'legally' put my safety into my own hands seems like a great idea to myself. I'd rather make decisions while riding to protect myself rather than be forced to sit in traffic waiting to be slammed from behind by a car cause they weren't paying close enough attention. If I don't feel it's safe to lane split, I won't do it... Why? Because I'm responsible for my own safety.

Why opposed to the auction draft?

IMHO Best starter bike: 05-06 SV650 - Enough power to do whatever you want, but not too much power that you'll end up on your back if you mess up. Handles very well, comfortable, good gas mileage, and usually a very decent price. I know a few people selling bikes on here that are very clean. Comfortable 2 up as well, good for twisties, slabbing, racing, etc. Although it is a Suzuki which steers away from Kawasaki and Yamaha.

Wouldn't it be just as easy to follow the CA code in regards to filtering. It's not like we are pioneering the idea.

What about stopped traffic on the highway in the instance of a traffic jam.
