  1. The one and only good thing about going in on Saturday for overtime where I work is that I can pull my bike in the shop and go to town detailing and cleaning it, and getting paid while I do it
  2. Awesome. Haven't heard of powerlet, seems to be top notch. How many satisfactory dollars did that full set run you?
  3. well, i don't think it's too early to start planning for the cold season. Last year I rode up to the end of November before calling it quits. Just used wind proof jacket with under layers, under armour leggings, and insulated gloves. But it still wasn't enough to make riding in sub 40s very enjoyable. This year I'd like to keep going til it snows if I can keep my fingers from breaking off. So, I'm just seeing what others think about the products they have and use. I'm thinking I don't want battery powered stuff, but rather wire up to the bike. Maybe someone else has had great luck with the batteries, I have no idea. I'm planning on getting gloves, jacket, and pants. I know gerbings and first gear are two big names in the industry, seems like gerbings might be a little better and a little more expensive, also seems first gear would be perfectly adequate for the pricing. Would be glad to get info on other brands. thanks!
  4. Welcome. Good tip for new rider on new (used) bike, go through the bike with a fine tooth comb. I see you noticed shitty brake response, good start. Have to be able to depend on your machine and that means it depends on you to keep it that way.
  5. I wonder how many people's last meal was at frisches big boy......
  6. Your bike is sick man, Welcome to the forum.
  7. I don't see how he will even come close to the competition with a 650 motor. They all use the kawi 250 or other small motors. I agree thats wasting a perfect and beautiful bike.
  8. I don't know what "little details" they are missing, it's an exhaust pipe... they have way more details than any stock pipe and they use real carbon fiber, stainless rivets, stamp the brand name on the tip rather than use a big gaudy sticker. I'm just saying for the price you pay for one, you get pretty damn good quality materials put together well for a good functional piece, I honestly expected much worse. Looks great on my bike, completes the look IMO. but I have seen the same exact one I have on a cbr and it wasn't a good fit for a fully faired sport bike. But They do Have Different Styles other Than the tube style I have. So depending on which ones you've seen and which bikes they were on, I can see your distaste for them.
  9. Someone is likely profiting off this, or will be if he's proven guilty. I'd say money is the entire motive of the case for some person(s). Guess we'll see what happens. Just from the 4 or 5 episodes that I did see, he seemed to be a very good dude, certainly intelligent. But TV shows can make an idiot look like Einstein and visa versa so yah never really know.
  10. Gotcha. That's cool man, just curious. I've always been into cars/motorcycles/engines also. Just got my first bike last October and it has been a blast to own and ride, it's a feeling you never get from a car and I love my cars. 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse gs 1995 Nissan 240sx sr20det 2005 Suzuki sv650 naked
  11. So who old are you? What kind of imports do you like? Why not get a motorcycle sooner rather than "some day"? Welcome to OR, I think we accept cagers also.
  12. Yeah, forgot about those. Probably right. Even still, seems like it's become somewhat common for people to not have all there required night lights on in newer cars. Technology is fooling them.
  13. Nice, certainly looks better. Is there a reason why you didn't just use a black rubberized undercoating spray? Basically like plasti dip but more permanent.
  14. Can't say i know for this particular vehicle, I'm sure the FSM would have details on how they work if you have it. I want to know why I see newer cars all the time, like 2005+, driving at night with headlights on and no tail lights lights at all. It's weird and I see it all the time, people have to be getting pulled over for it even if they don't realize it, I'm thinking it has to do with auto headlights also....
  15. +1 for the danmoto. Have one on my sv, love the sound and look. Doesn't look much different from the pics above. Can't beat the price for decent quality.
  16. Damn that's a cool bike. Sorry to hear about this.
  17. Well, my step dad basically had this real life situation. Now he's got a large safe over flowing with guns. There's at least 40K of worth in there. Good investment? I'm not so sure. He's only shot maybe 5 of them. There's got to be like 30-35 different fire arms in that thing. If zombies rise up, I'm heading to his place. That's when the investment pays off lol.
  18. Just sent payment Derek, thanks for organizing this so well.
  19. This thing is beautiful. I would not regret a single penny spent on this, if only I had that many pennies
  20. Changing the oil on the sv today, she pretty much let's me know when it's time by the way she sounds and runs. Not nearly as peppy. On another note, does anyone know the average mileage to expect before one should replace the clutch on an sv650? I'm thinking that will be on my to do list this winter.
  21. Im in on this. Spring ride was great, this should be even better. ...also interested in a T-shirt, medium, just let us know how you want payment.
  22. sounds like you would very much respect that over the traditional method lol.
