  1. Posers are everywhere, the only way to get away from them is out of town. I have a friend that wears shorts all the time when riding, and always insists on revving his bike when going through town. These are also the people who have a bike for a year or two and the "Coolness" wears off and they sell their bike with a thousand or two miles on them.
  2. When I wore contacts, i always rode with visor down, chin curtain in. My contacts didn't like the wind very well, plus I have allergies. Now, i have perfect vision without any contacts or glasses. Lasik is worth every penny...
  3. Lol that too. I can't say much, my BMW was tore apart more often than any bike I've ever owned.
  4. Their is some truth to that. No Ducati dealer in the entire SEO area, which blows my mind. Tons of Japanese and Harley Dealers though.
  5. So i compared AAA and AMA. Both on $49 packages. AAA is 3 miles. AMA is 35. Both will do any vehicle, flat tire, jump start, and gas. AAA says on their website it is an extra $35 for RV and Motorcycle towing and Tire service, and you must be a plus member, which is $83. This sounded kinda odd. AMA offers "Mobile Mechanic" which sounds like a joke, but if someone could bring me parts/tools to fix my bike, it would be worth it.
  6. So i actually checked this specifically, cause a buddy of mine had AAA and it only covered 15 miles unless you had a higher rate package. AMA is 35 miles, which seems good IMO.
  7. I just noticed that, I don't run the extension on mine, but I could see that hurting in the event of a fall.
  8. I really like the aluminum thumbscrews with the wrench. Much easier to tighten.
  9. I was recently looking at AMA membership, and I was curious if anyone here uses the benefits included with the membership. They are showing roadside assistance included with membership and thought that might be decent to have.
  10. I usually just let mine run the entire time and have ridiculously long videos. I'm sure its boring to some, but in the dead of winter I like to sit and watch them again. I will probably record the entire ride.
  11. My dad didn't have a bike until I was in high school. We rode 4-wheelers together, and i switched to dirt bikes when he switched to street bikes. At 17 years old, with my high school graduation money and some savings, I bought my first street bike(01 CBR F4i). We rode together all the time, him on his Harley, me on the sport bike. We don't ride as much together now due to our riding styles being different paces, but we still tour together. We spend more time now in the garage wrenching bikes, which I thoroughly enjoy.
  12. Yeah hopefully it keeps shifting. Me and Chris (Shoop) will be meeting at 339 Park N Ride Saturday morning if anyone in SEO wants to ride up.
  13. I'll admit i used to squid when I got my first bike (CBR600 F4i) and I thought it was cool to wear a t-shirt, shorts and sneakers. Now I can't even ride without a jacket and gloves.
  14. +1 on Knoxville. Traffic there sucks.
  15. My dad pulls a trailer with his harley on big trips (Week Long Trips to Myrtle Beach, when mom goes. No trailer needed without a woman). Literally everything but the kitchen sink lol. It's all about packing the trailer balanced. No weight in the trailer is actually dangerous because it bounces bad. His trailer uses a swivel hitch which helps the stability in corners. I've pulled it a few times, it's very stable. I'm not too sure about a homemade trailer, getting it to pull right might be a challenge if something isn't 100% square.
  16. Glad to see you got some resolution. Teespring seems to be a decent company IMO.
  17. Bother for the purpose of stopping better, it is not noticeable from a nose dive perspective.
  18. The linked brakes on the FJR are not even noticeable. I drag the rear a good bit, never feel a nose dive.
  19. Worth every penny. I don't think I could go back to not having it.
  20. Calm Down, the world is not burning. Proved False on Snopes. http://www.snopes.com/motorcycle-curfew-in-11-states/
  21. I thought this was hilarious and somewhat accurate.
  22. The people that received a faulty shirt submitted to Teespring with a photo of the issue and Teespring processed the request in a couple days. I did not submit the complaint.
  23. Regardless, ive always had good luck with Teespring making it right. I had 2-3 misprints and they had new ones shipped out in less than 2 days.
  24. Is it all of them or just a few? I wondered how they were gonna do a drop shadow on a shirt, usually you would have to do a halftone.
