I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has done this. I've made my commute from work to home (~20 miles) without touching the bars except for on ramp loops and stop-turns. You can really learn how much sticking your hand in the wind can move the bike.
I get cupping issues almost everytime. The new PR4s i used for the Fall Gap trip have lost their shape more than any other tire I have tried on the FJR. Rear tire is feathering bad.
Terry's Custom seats out of Tennessee. I've never seen and FJR seat done by him, but I've seen some others and I was really impressed. I considered a Laam but heard too many horror stories of waiting to get the seat back. A Russell was out of my price range.
Today marks 3 full months of my new lifestyle change. I am 30 lbs lighter, I have more strength and muscle, and I have more energy. Next goal is to be down another 30 lbs by the gap trip.
I sat on the BMW Nine-T Racer with the bubble fairing. I loved the looks of the bike since it's release, but after sitting on it, the desire to own one has went out the window. Very awkward feeling and the balance just didn't feel right.
Just got home from the show. 3 hour drive each way. It was an ok show. Sat on more bikes than I normally do. I really like the feel of that Super Duke GT. I don't see 2 bikes in my near future though.
