  1. @B-Mac Yes, this is different from the event at Canaan Valley. Yes, I'm crazy. But wait, it gets better. I also got talked into picking up the coordinator role for the MSTA Fall Colors event in Lewisburg WV.
  2. Hi Guys,It's been a while since I've posted here. But a riding buddy from New Jersey and I put together a ride event through the MSTA, centered in Milford PA. We would like to invite anybody who's more or less in the area. The event will run from check-in on Thursday Aug. 1 through check-out on Sunday. Two days of riding. We have reserved about half of the rooms in a highly rated family owned motel (10 of 19 rooms) just outside of Milford. We ran the event this past October on very short notice and we had a great time. The MSTA runs a number of fairly large events every year. But this one is a type that's called a "Just For Fun (JFF)." There's no entry fee, no banquet, and no T-shirts. Just some pre-prepared routes and the chance to hang out with some other riders. And we get a small discount from the motel. We ride in small groups and we will coordinate those at dinner the night before or just before we take off.If you’re not from the area and thought that NY and NJ were nothing but urban sprawl – get your butt up (over, or down) here, and we’ll show you some wilderness, cliffs, and maybe some Bald Eagles. You won’t be in any city traffic, but on a clear day, you can see NYC from the top of Perkins Memorial Drive. If you’re from the area, come on out and meet some other sport touring riders. Have dinner with us at the historic Dimmick Inn & Steakhouse, in Milford, or perhaps the Carriage House in Barryville, NY.We have prepared several street routes, 100 to 250 miles. Routes will be available on printed maps and by gpx.Destinations/overlooks/stops include:Hawks Nest Highway (see the banner photo)Bethel Woods (Woodstock)The Roebling AqueductSugar Loaf NYPerkins Memorial on Bear MountainThe spectacular Route 106 through Harriman St ParkStorm King Highway with overlook on West Point Military AcademyGreenwood LakeThe Dingman’s Ferry BridgeEVENT REGISTRATION: Online Event Registration - Eagle Quest JFF, Milford PA Eagle Quest JFF, Milford PA - online management provided by PlanetReg reg.planetreg.com I can send an email with the route info after you sign the waiver during registration.Motel:Myer Country Motel 570-296-7223 or 800-764-MYER Welcome to the Myer Country Motel Welcome to the Myer Country Motel where for over 73 years our standards of innkeeping excellence have been our trademark. 3. Hey Jared, Yes, it's quiet. But most of the forums that I've been on are quiet or closing up. Blame it on FaceBook. I'm from WV in Parkersburg. I noticed your post, but was hoping for a bit more info on what kind of riding you do, so I didn't reply right away, and then I don't check back very often... Anyway, I organize the WV group of the Motorcycle Sports Touring Association (MSTA). We meet the second Thursday of every month with MSTA members and other riders from the area, including guys from SE Ohio. We hold the meetings in Williamstown since most of our nearby guys are in PKB, Marietta, or nearby. Caldwell is a mere 30 minutes away. You might check out the web page at RideMSTA.COM and the about tab to get a feel for the sorts of guys who are members. Or just show up next Thursday at DaVinci's at 6:30. If you want to attend, please let me know so i can adjust our reservation. Chris Shoop
  4. Eagles’ Quest - Just For Fun Event Milford PA Rally REVIVED October 14 through 17, Thursday till Sunday. Please join us in the scenic NE corner of PA to revive this event that ran for several years – led by Doc Lane from Hampton NJ. If you’re not from the area and thought that NY and NJ were nothing but urban sprawl – get your butt up here, and we’ll show you some wilderness, cliffs, and maybe some Bald Eagles. You won’t be in any city, but on a clear day, you can see NYC from the top of Perkins Memorial Drive. If you’re from the area, come on out and meet some other sport touring riders. Have dinner with us at the historic Dimmick Inn & Steakhouse, in Milford, or perhaps the Carriage House in Barryville NY. We have prepared several street routes, 100 to 250 miles. Routes will be available on printed maps and by gpx and REVER files. Destinations/overlooks/stops include Hawk’s Nest Highway, Woodstock (Bethel Woods), NY-6 through Harriman State Park. Perkins Memorial outlook, Storm King Mtn. This event will be late in the year and this is short notice – but we really wanted to get it restarted! The motel prices are a bit inflated because this is peak leaf season. Upside - the rides will be extra colorful. 5. New price: $9000 with the extras. $8500 without.
  6. The price with the extras is now $10,000. I could probably drop the price without them a bit below the $9500 that's listed. A bit lower for OR members.
  7. I'll be taking vacation either tomorrow or Friday. Will also ride Saturday. I'll prob be around the motels tonight about 6 bringing more stuff for the registration room.
  8. @B-Mac So, have you been on the dinner tours? I didn't see you.

    Hey Guys!

www.flybyweek.com Starting Monday Aug 23, but the busiest days will be Fri & Sat.
  10. Houston has soooo many cowboy bars. Gilley's Club is closed, but I'm sure he'll have a blast. 🤠
  11. Maybe not so much. Last few days, it's been hotter here in mid-Ohio valley than it was in Houston. Daughter lives there.
  12. I've set aside TWO whole days. Prolly one for street and one for ADV and then flip a coin to decide for Saturday. Brian - which week days are you likely to be there?
  13. Gorgeous Cobalt Blue 2016 FJR 1300A (not the fussy electronic suspension model) with 39,300 miles. The 2nd gear transmission and front brake switch recalls were performed in February along with a valve check. All were good I'm asking $9,500 on FB marketplace, with all the extras stripped off or $10,500 as is. I can do a bit better for OR members. Ask me. Michelin PR4GT's with more than half the tread remaining. Standard features - the LED cornering lights are on the ES model, not the A. https://www.cycleworld.com/2016/03/22/2016-yamaha-fjr1300a-and-fjr1300es-sport-touring-motorcycle-review-first-ride/ Extras in the as-is price: Shad 50L topcase with base plus Garald Stiffy Bracket. MCE Canyon Cages, front (w highway pegs) & rear. Bruudt passenger peg extensions. Townsend's helmet locks with Powerlet outlets on both sides. Chris Shoop
  14. Rider - not Race... Dang, I'd blame it on autocorrect, but that would have picked a LESS appropriate replacement word. I'm taking the ChampDay session. Not the ChampStreet. The Champ day is new this year. From different email replies, it seems not all of the YCRS guys have the same understanding of what this one is. I think, and I'm hoping that it's sort of like a track day but with more emphasis on coaching. One description said it has a low student to coach ratio. Anyway, I borrowed, I mean stole, I mean bought @JustinNck1 ' s leathers. So I expect to have a nice hot sweaty time.
  15. Brian, I need to check my vacation balance. The wife and I are taking two plus weeks to drive cross country to my daughter's wedding at Yosemite park. I might be able to take a day. I'll check this week and let you know.
