  1. non-turbo GM diesel. probably gets good mileage but 160hp and 270 ft/lbs torque don't exactly sell excitement.
  2. Actually the First Gen's with the 6.2L are the ones holding value and seem to be the most reliable (if talking to owners and the internet is to be believed). The 5.4L 3-valves have all the problems those engines in other fords have - timing, camshaft sensors, oil issues, fuel pumps, etc...It's not a great engine. I've heard from some ecoboost owners too that the new ones are just as problem prone as the early 5.4L's - engine and tranny issues abound. I think the 1st gen 6.2L crew cab (not quad cab) raptor will be the collectible one day, all the others...well who says there will even be any around.
  3. She was an amazing ambassador to our hobby and sport and she leaves a big hole in the world that will be difficult to fill. It's a tragic loss for sure.
  4. So what publicly accessibly entertainment do you want to see?
  5. sorry you had such a terrible experience with the raptor. Been hearing a lot about how ford fucked it up going ecoboost instead of coyote. Driven my friend's trackhawk - once you pass the break in mileage the thing will probably scare you, esp if you use the launch control...it's a freaking animal. Nice score on the white with red interior - I haven't seen that combo yet and didn't even know it was available.
  6. Doesn't retail drive entertainment though? Synergy between restaurants, bars, movie theaters, even places like dave and busters and bowling alleys all want to be near retail centers. If you are relying on Aldi for your mainstay groceries then y'all need a grocery store.
  7. I am legit curious, what would you or your neighborhood rather see done with the site?

    Dear CR

Here, I'll field this one. The question at hand is: - Does the CR management want to allow kitchen content outside the kitchen? This stemmed from cdk posting an unprompted personal attack outside the kitchen. It wasn't based on any opinion I had or inflammatory thing I had written, he just flat out doesn't like me and follows me around on the board expressing his disdain for my existence. Had it been in the kitchen, I wouldn't have had an issue with it, had it been about an opinion I had expressed or some other inflammatory content I wouldn't have had an issue with it, and had it been an isolated incident I don't think I would have had an issue with it. But if the forum admins are just going to allow a member to be an asshole anywhere they want, then why have a kitchen at all? At this point it has been resolved by management and I'm satisfied. I didn't ask for the member to be banned I just made the case that it's just in everyone's interest that kitchen comments outside the kitchen sometimes get pruned to keep it civil. I suspect Cordell wrote what he did because, as much as it pains him to agree with me on something he saw the point and was telling the guy "hey keep it between the guardrails". As an aside, I am quite pleased that I am living rent free in cdk's head so much that his response is "fuck you, ban me" to what I think was a reasonable request.
  9. I have always come here to want to talk cars, and for the most part it's the best part of this site. However, like many here I have strong opinions and do my best to live within the forum rules. To that end I feel like the rules should apply to ALL members. You had the opportunity to let sleeping dogs lie at the end of our PM's. You chose instead to take no action on the post and create this thread. This was not an olive branch move. For some but not all. That isn't "reality" its your perspective. My perspective is that a forum member broke forum rules by threadshitting a personal attach unprovoked and unrelated to the topic at hand. I have approached this with an attempt to get you to see it from my perspective and from my perspective your answer was "fuck you, you deserve this so I am going to ignore the forum rules and let it stand. At this point we aren't really arguing for each other, it's on display in the court of public opinion that is CR. So are you, so is Cordell, so are many others on this forum. My point is because I have the unpopular opinion the rules are different for me and you are just proving my point. I am sure that wasn't your only reason. Prove me wrong. IF you really meant ANYTHING you said in the top of this thread you would have removed the post we were discussing. You didn't so all is all empty and hallow words. I do believe Bstowers did drive by my house and try to find out where I live so, maybe I just found that lucky 5%. You had many opportunities to avoid all this, you could have deleted the initial post, or you could have let it lie after our initial PM exchange, and well actions have consequences and here we are. Two pissed off CR members.
  10. Says the person in charge of consequences who doesn't want to take action.
  11. As a refressher: - this forum did very little when a member (Bstowers) made personal threats against me and my family. As of right now I believe the member is still a member in good standing here, and only the post making the initial threat was removed. - This forum allowed someone to make the case that affirmative action is a form of white genocide and those comments are still here if you want to search for them. - Some of my comments, all of which were not personal attacks but may have been off topic for the thread were removed for being thread shitting. But when someone makes a threadshitting personal attack against me....I get a lecture about how my actions have consequences using Abraham Lincoln. So, yeah, telling them I am disappointed in them is the least I can do.
  12. All this is meaningless if you don't remove the post. Letting it stand means you condone the behavior. Frankly I am disappointed in you Joe but honestly I don't really expect equal or fair treatment from this board or it's moderators. You basically spelled it out in your PM, people are allowed to make personal unprovoked attacks against me because of who I am. Let's be honest, you posted this history lesson so you can feel good about making the moral justification that a person can make unprovoked attacks in any non-kitchen thread they like unrelated to any conversation just because I have controversial opinions to the board status quo. Like it or not Joe, this is not the right call and you know it deep down, but because you and I have not seen eye to eye on things you feel I am getting what I deserve.
  13. Columbus is still the #1 test market in the country despite being the #4th most representative city of american demographics because 1) it's geographically close to 46% of the US population, and 2) the industry has been here so long that the infrastructure (research firms, educational facilities, science labs) is more built out here than anything else. Also it's not the 2/3+ liberal demographic but that fact that the city under-represents key minority groups like Hispanics (5.6% in cbus vs 16% nationwide) that have caused it to slip to #4. https://wallethub.com/edu/metro-areas-that-most-and-least-resemble-the-us/6109/#methodology https://www.sbnonline.com/article/things-columbus-still-best-test-market/ Furthermore, what started out as a test market for restaurants and fast food, has grown into a test market for retail, agriculture, banking and finance, and technology. maybe the growth has slowed a little, likely due to recent inflation in the local real estate market, but it's still growth.
  14. Hence the joking reply. if you say so, cuz I won't.
  15. mighty socialist of you cordell, you big softie! How about we do absolutely nothing but bitch and moan about how the world is going to shit while Columbus slowly backslides into becoming the Gary, Indiana of Ohio. You wanna be Gary, Indiana? because that's how you get to be Gary, Indiana. Commerce is good for the city economy. Construction, even cheap modular construction made from recycling containers, is good for the city economy. Change, esp in blighted neighborhoods is good for the economy (esp if it doesn't displace existing residents which this doesn't). You want to do something Motorsport related in this space? Let's all pool our money and get a container space, call it "Columbus Racing" and make a virtual driving academy. I was watching a rerun of Jay leno's garage last night and he was at this place that was a GT6 virtual driving academy - they had full setups and it didn't require that much space. You could hold actual races, driving tournaments, do pre track day instruction on real courses.
  16. Shipping container outdoor/indoor malls have been around for a while now and some of them are pretty nice. Cleveland already has a bunch of pop up shops built out of containers, so it's not like this is a "new" thing to ohio in general - just cbus. http://nationswell.com/cleveland-shipping-containers-jump-start-retail/ Hey, if there is some way they can revitalize a dead area, and do it cheaply and give more opportunity to small local business - I'm all for it. I mean, what else are you going to do in Cbus besides shop? go to ohio state football games and fuck sheep? Those are both seasonal things, need to fill up the time otherwise. Seriously though, this place is a test market for a lot of stuff and this has caused the cost of opening a new business to skyrocket in heavily trafficked areas. Anybody remember the first location of Hot Chicken Takeover? that neighborhood was less than stellar and now those places are everywhere. Here is an opportunity for a live music space, and a coffee bar, and handmade crafts to exist within the safety of a "compound" instead of hoping their clientele will brave a super sketchy neighborhood for an individual store front. I mean, I'd rather have a Motorsports park on the site, but since that's not happening might as well do something with it. My only compliant is they don't do something like this with the other dead malls around town.
  17. what Tim is trying to say is that over tightening the lug nuts would cock the stud slightly, leading to a slight out of balance like vibration which would prematurely wear out the bearing. the amount of force needed to do that in any meaningful way however is well beyond the yield threshold of most lugs - or in other words you'll snap a lug before you cock it out of place enough to damage a wheel bearing. you can however warp brake rotors by over tightening. you can however over-tighten an axle nut and wear out a wheel bearing right quick, but that's a different situation.
  18. Does your carb use a vacuum secondary or a mechanical secondary? the reason I ask is that those filter tops sometimes fuck with vacuum secondary carbs. I ran one years ago on my GTO and kept having a carb backfire that would jam shut the secondaries. Put the car on a friend's dyno and traced it back to that stupid filter top - carb worked perfectly every other filter or no filter, but as soon as I put that thing on - pop back fire and 2bbl till I could get home and unjam the secondaries. Otherwise great work. If you seats are 05, I wonder if you can get 08 bullitt seat covers for them since they were done in a 60's mustang style pattern?
  19. why portable? if you are going to go 220 and that big, why not just go for a 60-80 gal standup unit? It will actually be cheaper. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-80-Gal-3-Cylinder-Single-Stage-Electric-Air-Compressor-C801H/203187346
  20. we discussed this a while back and i was in the HD camp because the compressor was made by Campbell-Hausfeld and has been for a long time, where as Loews' captive brand Kobalt switches out white label mfgs pretty regularly (they were CH, and then Coleman Powermate which I think is inferior, and I don't know who makes them now). Dad's got a CH compressor in his garage that he and I used heavily and it's still going strong 20 years on. I'll be honest though. I've had some good experience with harbor freight compressors once you service them. Central Pneumatic is not a captive brand for HF, which means they aren't a built to a price point compressor like a captive brand would - what they are is a corners cut compressor and usually where the biggest corner cut isn't on quality of parts but on quality control of the mfg unit (Someone in the auto parts industry once told me that QC is 40% of the cost of most parts). If you can get a good look at the unit, ID the potential failure points, and service it before use you'll probably get the same use out of it as any other. I have 5+ years out of my HD pancake compressor and it hasn't given me a single problem.
  21. The non V ATS is turbo and AWD, the ATS-V is RWD. I believe you can get a manual ATS with AWD, but I have never seen one and it's just the 272hp 2.0T.
  22. No AWD manual sedans, but I think the M3 and 3 series csn still be had stick RWD.
  23. if someone offers you $825 for a 200K mile equinox, take the money and run.
  24. LS swap it. no tpi...no problem. J/K Check the MAF (and TPS), but to me it sounds like a fuel pressure regulator issue. I had a dodge van that has similar symptoms and it turned out to be both a vacuum leak and a hole in the diaphragm for the pressure regulator. at low speed the thing was dumping fuel into the engine so it would try to stall, would only run at mid throttle, and then if you ran it for an hour on the highway it would cut out and die from fuel starvation. wait 5 min, prime the pump, and it would take off and run for another hour before dying again.
