D = Cobra P = 1993 Vin is stamped on the block and transmission case. The build date is stamped in Yellow paint on the radiator support. Other visuals to look for: Different front grill with running horse Cobra badges of course (drivers side faces to the REAR of the car) Different wheels 17X7.5 Rear brakes 10.07 disc (GT had 9" drums) SVO style tail lights Rocker extensions are different from the GT Rear bumper different Cobra badge on left rear hatch 4-pedistal rear spoiler/wing LX 5.0L stainless tips Shifter is a little different Cobra written on the factory floor mats Engine lots more but visually: GT40 heads (GT cast on the head) 1.84"/1.54" Cobra intake 65mm throttle body 70mm Mass Air Metere 24 lb. injectors Smaller crank/water pump pullies (Not visible without taking it apart) 1.72:1 roller rockers Cobra cam Recalibrated computer T-5 tranny has phosphate-coated gears and stronger bearings I'm sure I missed a few but those are the main things... If all else fails call 1-800-FORD-SVT and they will tell you anything and confirm if it's a "real" COBRA if you have the VIN.

You are wrong.... It's like any other sports car. Who wants to own a Wrecked or Salvage title car of that caliber. Not saying this is a bad buy but people that spend $50-150k+ on cars normally want it perfect. Especially if they plan to keep it for years in a collection, they want a PERFECT ALL ORIGINAL car.... This would be perfect for a racecar build...

If you can't go WFO in first or second gear (20/40/60mph) on a Katana or Superhawk without it coming up, you probably shouldn't be riding...

The biggest problem is COST...$$$$$ You can buy a 2WD or AWD Trailblazer SS (with the LS2 already in it) for a lot less than what it's going to cost you to convert it. Not only that but why not get a warranty while you are at it. Or you could just sell what you have and go buy a new one. Invoice is $30k on a new 2WD stripper PLUS they are offering a $4k rebate right now so you could walk out with a BRAND NEW one for $26k...

What is the deal with 997 GT3 owners letting people drive there cars and wrecking them. There was another one a while back with a RED GT3 and the guy took out like four cars at a AUTO-X meet... Kevin, Not trying to be an ass or anything but technically..... The 99 Cobra didn't say COBRA in the bumper. It was the normal MUSTANG bumper (like the 94-95 Cobra) with exhaust holes cutout. The only other differences are the tail lights and emblem. The 99/01 had the amber marker lights and the others didn't. 99 also has a different SVT emblem. No model year has ever had a snake anywhere but on the side fenders.... http://www.mustangspecs.com/carpics/99cobra6.jpg 99 was a bad year for the Snake IMO. It came with the regular GT seats, wing, bumper, etc.... They didn't change it enough like previous Cobra's and people were pissed. That's kind of what implemented all the difference with the 03/04's....

I would recommend this with a 4-valve but on the 2-valve that would be the worst mod ever. 3:73's would be more appropriate for his engine/powerband...

Check the property taxes before you do anything. The prices are going insane down there in certain parts....
