  1. Same thing with bikes, people think anyone can buy one and go FAST and it's just not true! If you can't drive/ride the damn thing it won't matter how much power they've got... Maybe it's the latest generation thinking, "I could do it on XBOX....why can't I do it in real life"....
  2. I agree but there is no reason he shouldn't be running 10's now. I didn't realize he wanted a dedicated DRAG car because with the auto that's what it's going to be. If he just wants the # throw in the auto and go 9's...
  3. Don't take this the wrong way but you've got to learn to drive what you have before you spend ANY more money on it....

I just find it funny that 1 guy out of 35,000+ Z06's and people continue to quote the time.....I don't consider that the norm.... Even with slicks, 5 out of 35k+ cars....I don't know if I'd call that plenty...   9. Why spend the money on a 5.4. Put some snails on it and you can make 1,xxx+ pretty easy. Do an E85 conversion and it would work all day on pump gas, no need for a 5.4 or 6.2... What is the goal for the car? Using all the power is another thread entirely...
  10. Not surprised since the 2010 had the 4.6 in it... Can't help but laugh at the R1 saying "BUSA killer" on it yet he is clutch shifting with minimal mods...

  18. Exactly why I think in this day and age (2010), 11's aren't that fast. When someone in a bone stock car Viper, ZR1, Z06, GT-R, whatever....can beat you I'm not impressed.... Now 10-years ago, 11's in a daily driver/weekend toy was something...

  20. Go drive one, it's not as bad as you think (same with the M3 and RS5).. I don't think anyone said it's a better car, just the bang-4-buck category keeps it at the top of the list for cheap fun...
  21. In high school (late 90's) I thought 11's were fast but now there are to many cars running those times from the factory. For me it's got to be in the 10's/9's AND have all the creature comforts to be a street car. Maybe it's just my age but the gutted cut up cars just don't do it for me. I'm not talking about cars that have to cool and be setup to run the times once at the track. I'm talking about something you can drive to the track (no cool down) and run 10's on street tires/drag radials, PUMP gas (93, E85, etc.), power steering, A/C, radio/XM, etc...something you would take your wife/GF in on a date but still be fast AND handle. An all around fast car that handles and gets the daily job done when needed (not required)...
