Count me in.

Thanks Tim, I owe you a few beers whenever that may be!

You did not! I'll PM you..

REM polishing is so under-rated. There really is no downside to it as when it's done correctly, your parts come back at the same size they were sent (unlike classic polishing that will shave everything down a bit). It's dirt cheap too. Last time I sent in a transmission everything got done for $60. I think they just take the small stuff and throw it in along with other customers big parts.

You both are the same distance from me so I'm content either way. Which one of you are available tomorrow afternoon?

I'll try to get a belated 'build thread' going and toss up some photos. I had it mocked up a few weeks ago just to get an idea on some things. Had to tear everything back down as the frame needs some machining to fit the R6 swinger and shock.

Toss me on the list if you could! Never been to a track day yet. Currently have a track bike being built and should be complete here in about a month. Aprilia framed, banshee powered 2 stroke. Would love to annoy the shit out of everybody with it.

Sweet let me know!

Need a set of take offs/dry rotted/no tread/etc tires. I'm doing some frame mods to my race build and can't go any further without tires and rims mounted. Don't need a good set for this, just something that holds air. None of the tire places will give me a set of old tires for liability reasons. Need a 120/70-17 and 180/55-17

Good news. Bad that it's in Arkansas, but I suppose we shouldn't complain, at least its closer than Bonneville . -
Can someone post some pics/vids/something so I can live vicariously through them? (since the Army screws me over every single year and I never make it).
-
You guys are nuts, I replace my chain and sprockets every year with the oil.
-
Let me know if it falls through.

If I wasn't overseas I'd help you out! They are worth it for carbs though. No more guess work. -
Cracked Case - Oil Splattering All Over the Place
wolfeman28 replied to Fin's topic in Tech and Tips
Be careful with map gas on the cast aluminum. Not all castings are made the same and some will start to melt before you can even get your filler to wet out and stick. Watch the heat in thin areas.- 22 replies

Can everyone spare a second to help a young racer out

I wish I was young enough to run in the 390 cup, looks like a blast! Good luck to you guys! -
Can't argue with cheap ice cream!

Has anybody seen the new photos? Looks better than I thought it would, nice and clean/simple... I can see myself going there more often than Norwalk now. http://www.dragzine.com/news/the-all-new-dragway-42-in-ohio-set-for-2017-grand-re-opening/

Just dropped about $5000 on motor parts for the RZ. And they will just sit for a year until i get a chance to work on it
-
I bought tz750 ow31 bodywork to go on it, so it should look even sexier once I get it all to fit!
-
Well, even though I said I wouldn't ride again after my accident, I broke down today and got a new toy. RZ350. Will be torn apart and built for track, but I 'might' ride it on the street a bit before I tear into it. Don't have any pictures, but i bought it from State 8 so check the website photos. http://www.state8.com/1984-yamaha-rz350-inventory.htm?id=1267896&in-stock=1

Absolutely would be interested. Can you PM me pics?

A little glass work and you can make anything fit wherever you want it

Yeah it sounds like you are pulling too much of a load on the amplifier, and the cheaper the amp the quicker it will go into protection when it doesn't like the impedance mismatch. I'd look into the sub impedance and voice coil setup as stated above and compare it to what the amp can handle. Anything out of spec and all you will get is protection mode. I bought myself a nice Alpine headunit a few years back, with the imprint calibration hardware, and shelled out a few bucks for one of the Alpine monoblock PDX amps...... Man, talk about sound quality. Paired up with one of the 12" Dayton Audio Reference subs. I'll never need to buy car audio equipment again.
