  1. Grumpy, have you tried shutting the power off at your surge protector or un-plugging it? Wait 15 minutes and turn power on and start your computer in safe mode? DISCLAIMER: I am damn near computer stupid and have no inkling of what will happen. But when I've had blue screen before I did this and was able to get decent results. Also suggest invoking whatever deity one may believe in.
  2. Tpoppa's post...I've no use for M.M.'s fat flaky ass. But this time he's hit the nail on the head. And like Andy I'll work on one of my bikes, get some shit done around my house and then go kill some paper with one of my guns. And I'll end anymore posting in this thread by myself. I'm done with all the political rhetoric. At my age I consider it more important to get on with life. To quote a line from some biker movie, "Let's ride!"
  3. I didn't vote for Trump. I voted against Hillary. You all can argue this all to hell and back, but he's president. Us non-educated low browed white idiots came out of the woodwork and said "Enough". End of story. Meanwhile we'll all still get up tomorrow, doubt anyone is packing up to leave. Had a friend who fled to Europe when Obamy got his second term. She came back and proclaimed herself a fool for leaving. But if you gotta go; git. Like her you can return. And keep preaching doom. Me? I got to worry 'bout bills tomorrow, finish my yard, and try out new ammo in a couple of guns. Life's not as bad as it sounds sometime.
  4. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to own or operate ANY motor vehicle...
  5. If you really want to know what's going on in your engine or gearbox, try these folks. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/labOneKit.php?clickkey=2825763
  6. Don't know about the new ones, but Lucas Electrics were used on the '60s-'70s. The joke goes...Why do the English drink warm beer? 'Cause Lucas makes refrigerators too... Once you got a factory wiring diagram, and got familiar with them it wasn't too bad to repair one. Still... "Lucas; Prince of Darkness".
  7. What's the dealer/manufacturer recommend? A lot of new vehicles come off the assembly line with synthetic.
  8. Then I blame this guy...as you were.
  9. Scamsoil...I like that. How long did you run that stuff before you switched to Castrol? Reason I bring it up is that I've seen a clutch get "sticky" with certain fluids. But, if it doesn't do it again after shooting the linkage with white lith, maybe the connections there just need a good clean 'n lube.
  10. What you stated about the problem first place I'd look is the clutch itself. Is that a wet clutch or dry?
  11. Rode mine yesterday; took a road I'd never been on and discovered Lebanon's old dump site from back in the '50's...where two $700K or more homes have been built recently. Decided where my house is located is still the best part of the county.
  12. http://www.textsfromlastnight.com/texts/page:1 This website has annoying ads, is slow, and will act like a pain-in-the-ass...but occasionally some of the texts they post are hilarious. Especially if you know someone like that. Disclaimer: I don't do text in any way, shape or form; you will not find my dumb ass in any of these texts.
  13. Tasty looking! I don't have a real smoker...yet. Using a kettle grille with the heat on one side and meat opposite side. I just got a digital meat thermometer with a timer. Up to now I've been guessing and apparently lucky. I did a pork loin a week ago. Marinated it for about 6 hours before hand, and used chunks of hickory. I cut a pear tree down earlier this year but the wood won't be seasoned and ready 'til next spring. I'll have some pork butts in the freezer by then, and a decent barrel smoker. Don't know how pear wood will work but I'll be finding out. Later this week I'll be smoking some salmon...either feast like a king or the dogs will eat good, lol!
  14. What part of Ceaser's Creek did you take the pictures at? Looks good; any Ducati's cool!!! Always has been.
  15. Oh, those white cylinder heads. His idea. I'm having fun telling his buddies they're "Refrigidare Racing Heads". They do have the big valves with some mild polishing of the exhaust ports and some careful shaping of the intakes.
  16. Not mine but might as well be. Oldest boy has a foxbody Mustang he's building (off and on). Motor is done and in the car. 302 with 10:1 pistons, forged rods and crank, a torque orientated cam with hydro roller lifters. Sitting in the garage is a 9" Ford rear end about to receive 3:73 gears. Not really a strip car but I'm looking forward to seeing some slips from Edgewater. Not what I would have chose to build (I'm a Pontiac freak), but what the hell...it'll do what a car should do...make the owner grin.
  17. That has the aluminum receiver, right?
  18. Someone better jump on this unless they already have one or a truck. Also a better bet than your daddy-in-laws S-10. You know what the "S" in S-10 stands for? A Sample of a truck.
  19. Checked air in tires, checked fluids, rode it to a gas station 'bout 60 miles away and then home. May add Stabil later this week. Work around the house will keep me too busy for fun.
  20. Sympathy to the boy's family and absolute admiration for the dog. That's what dogs do. Don't know if it would be allowed by the powers that be, but I would hope they bury the boy and dog together...why separate them at this point? I did not click on the link or read the article. I couldn't stand to read about it.
  21. Hope all of you recover ok. Plus one on religiously doing the therapy.
  22. You do know that most governments seem to function for about 200-250 years and then there's change. Real change. Sometimes peaceful. Sometimes bloody. Kings get beheaded or flee to another monarchy, prime ministers resign along with their parliaments, and in our case we overthrew rule by a distant English king (bloody) and established what our forefathers thought would be an enduring government. Until the industrial age hit, we were isolated from a lot of the bullshit Europe went through. Which brings us to today where Angela Merkel farts over there and we get a whiff. How long has the U.S. been around? We may be due for a shake-up. Will it be peaceful, or bloody? Stay tuned...
  23. Hillary…Trump…we screwed no matter what. Used to be kids could settle their differences without guns, social media bullying and all the other crap. Banks didn’t falsify accounts, everything wasn’t outsourced, and if you were growing up poor you either didn’t know it or did the best you could. These social and economic problems do not start down on our level. They’re brought on by those in political power making decisions to benefit themselves and their Party buddies. They’re all about taking care of their international concerns, controlling us down here (in the real day-to-day world), and doing as they damned well please. They’re supposed to do what we down here want. Hillary is a hard-core, political self-serving, nosey me first bigot. Trump is a greedy businessman. By his bumbling comments and ideas, he’s proved to me he isn’t much of a politician like we’ve had (Bushes, Clintons, take your pick). I’m done supporting traditional ass-raping politics. I want a change that breaks the bureaucrats’ hold, even if I have to suffer.
