Your bike felt weird from the moment I sat on it. I think it was the long reach, really. The GS was a little bit of a reach, too..but not as pronounced as your bike. I bought a riser kit and it feels pretty good now. I doubt I will replace the Hyper with it, but folklore tells of a strong sport presence that is surprisingly adept. I am anxious to get it down south. I didn't buy it for that, though. I will use it while traveling for work and for solo sport touring. Sort of trying to do both at the same time.

I see the upside, but can overlook the absence of cruise on a weekend carver, but no modern bike with "touring" in mind should be without cruise control. I know my reaction time is slower just because I am used to rolling off throttle to slow down. I just started leaving myself more room to make adjustments. No need for emergency maneuvers if you don't create a nesting ground for an emergency. I know this isn't fail proof, but it certainly decreases opportunity. I rode for a decade without cruise and it was probably a good thing. I cannot say with certainty that it would have invited chaos, but I did rearend a parked car on the Blue Ridge. I am kind of dumb sometimes. Not sure "new rider" should take credit for the outcomes caused by "dumb human".

Sport touring bikes without cruise are dumb. Sport bikes without it give me mixed feelings.

The Wing is finally a contender. It is finally not a giant, bulbous Boomer mover. Honda is facing the same shit HD has been. They were forced to create a tourer that was not the previous Wing. It was a good bike, but not a "holy shit I should buy that" bike. We want reliable, fast, top-tier tech machines in this generation. The same old recycled Pacific Coasts just won't do.

In my defense, I had not looked at them enough to go to a dealership or test ride one. I was browsing HD forums and YouTube videos to see if I really wanted to go that route. I was also looking at touring BMWs, but I am not man enough for a bike like that.

Government bailouts are why HD is still here. I was looking at Ultra Classics and Road Glides before Jim offered up the Voyager. Saved me about $10k going with a "plastic bike" over the real thing. Zero regrets. I have a stereo, but I use it about 10% of the time, or less. One, it sounds like shit..two, I am too cheap to buy the Aux plug and hate everything on the radio. (except Rush)

I have put 9k miles on the Voyager since April. It is my first cruiser and I can say the giant fairing is easily at the top of the "Things I Love About This Bike" list. A 600 mile day trip, in the wet, across the mountain, on the freeway... that fairing is non-negotiable. It just makes the ride so much more enjoyable.

More than 8k (almost 9k) on the Voyager. Over 3k on the Hyper. Almost 3k on the FZ6.

Isaac's first rifle was a bolt Savage CUB with an Accutrigger. He still has that rifle. I have been kicking around the idea of another gun. I do not currently own any, but want one for the house.
