  1. i'd like to reach at least 600+rwp N/A, preferrably from a small-block if possible.
  2. ok, i'm a little fuzzy on these crate motors, and exactly how they work. when it comes to carbs and cubes i'm as stupid as they come. obviously an LS1/T56 slips into my car rather well, get the harness plug it in, tighten a few bolts and you've got a V8 swap. so how do these "crate" motors work? there is no fuel injection, how do you 'tune' them? is there any benefit with going that way? would you rather buy an LS1, send it off to Cartek and have it bored and stroked to a 427? or actually build an engine, get a block, mix and match companies and parts...like all these old hot-rodders do?
  3. i think, and hope, he is asking about this as a daily driver..which i don't see anything wrong with. they are peppy and get decent mileage...his 'sig' says he has a Sebring for christs sake...i'd rather drive a burning golfcart.
  4. does anyone know if Dremel makes a "buffing" attachment? i have to really add some 'elbow grease' to make these things clean...and truthfully i think my arm will fall off first
  5. i found a body shop around the corner that had them...they had an air rivet too..only took them about 5min to "pop" them back in smile.gif
  6. i need to polish my wheels badly, i have the "Blue Lightning" or something like that from AutoZone, it worked great on my hard pipes...but the wheels aren't coming along very well. any suggestions? also, it seems when i do get them slightly polish, they smear and get very dirty very easily...is there some kind of sealant or protection i can use on them?
  7. how about cams and heads...what the hell are all those numbers about? i know the xxx/xxx is the intake/exhaust duration...and then there is the lift(kinda self explanatory) then there is the lobe seperation and valve jobs..blah blah blah...how do they all fit together?
  8. thanks everyone for the suggestions...i will be making phone calls or stopping by some of these places. all i know is that the are larger than 3/16"...i would like to say at least a 1/4"...i only need 10 i think, but i am also curious about how to apply them, it seems all the "guns" are only up to 3/16" as well, will these places be able to help me that also?
  9. i need to find aluminum "pop" rivets larger than 3/16"...i have tried Lowes, Advanced, AutoZone, Sears, a local store...none of them have any larger. anyone know where to find them?..where do bodyshops get theirs?
  10. what is the most you can get out of one of these motors n/a?
  11. does anyone have any numbers for some of their cars, went to the website and didn't seem to come across any "real" info, just estimations.
  12. just doing a little research, wondering who makes the fastest LS'x' motors, what shop has the fastest sponsored cars? preferrably N/A
  13. no..it's the un-opened Windows disk that came with the computer. it keeps giving me the blue screen now, stating IRQ NOT LESS THAN EQUAL and giving memory addresses. i hate computers
  14. i think you should have just fixed up the Cavalier...they can be race cars too
  15. well it's not my computer first off, i've never had this problem. but this is the 2nd computer of my sister's, this one lasted 2 days...and now it's doing the same thing her first one did after about a month. it boots then locks up, or it will start to load Windows and just kick off and keep looping like that. it's too much of a coincidence the same thing has happened twice, she is downloading or doing something she shouldn't be. anyways, enough venting, i have a quick "Windows" based question. i have it booting off the XP cd and i formatted and all that stuff...it started to install Windows again...then it kept saying it couldn't copy "x" file...numerous times, and they are important files, a lot of them are .dll's. so i keep hitting 'retry', and no dice' so i say ignore to a couple of them and i get the blue screen. what the hell am i supposed to do with this thing if i can't even get Windows installed...ahhhh!

    i got a ticket

i've had that ticket 3 times...been pulled over for it probably 8+ times. i had a $70 ticket each time, they gave me a bunch of crap when i tried to get a "fix-it" so i just payed.
  17. amen. best brewery in the United States, i have had so many of their different beers, i have yet to find any, more flavorful. a class-act all the way. smile.gif
  18. i thought about swapping the entire setup for something along those lines, or we could utilize my same exhaust..the only problem is the pipe diameter, i don't think the Magnaflow's are big enough.
  19. i have fender flares on it, hence the 18x13" wheels to fill them out. but being that wide, they surpass the actual metal fenders of the body. without the flares the car would look like a skateboard, and the tires would stick out about 3" past the fender.
  20. wow, those are some nice pieces...any experience, or know someone who's had them?
  21. i'll try and make it out with stupid Nick...i'll see if i can rustle up a few chicks.
  22. yes this is for the RX7, and i would never put a RB Dual on here, talk about losing power, eek! currently i have the HKS Racing exhaust, which does have a Titanium "muffler" at the end, but it really doesn't do much. i'm pretty much just concerned about quieting it down at idle, i know it's an uncapped rotary that ha been ported to hell, so it's gonna be crazy loud when i get on it, i just can't drive it anywhere civilized sounding the way it does right now. can someone explain the differences between all these mufflers and why they wouldn't last? i thought most mufflers were just steel baffles and resonators.
  23. i want to quiet my exhaust down, therefore i am going to have a muffler welded in somewhere along the piping...only thing is, i don't know which is the best for the money. i'm looking for the same thing everyone else usually is, quiets it down without losing a crazy amount of flow. so, Magnaflow, Dynomax, Borla, Hooker, Eldelbrock, or dare i say Flowmaster....i have absolutely no experience with any of these brands, any opinions?
