What do they go for normally?

I don't have one, I was just curious as someone I know was wanting to sell one and I didn't think the demand was there, especially when you can get them on NewEgg and such...

Are you able to sell and make money off of a new one on Ebay?

I've been maxing out my 401K since I was 26, basically as soon as I got out of the Air Force. So between that and another house that I own outright that's worth about $150K, I'll be fine. I'll probably sell that in a few years, after the market picks back up. The house I live in will be paid off before I'm 50 and I hope to retire around 58 with a few million. Oh yeah, and the company I work for has a nice pension. If I stay here a good 25 years, there's a couple grand per month, just from that pension. My goal is to spend 6 months up north near the 1000 Islands in New York, the other 6 months down south somewhere...

There are a few people in here who don't really know what a $100K salary will buy you. After you figure taxes (no kids and single, that's more out of your check for a lot of you), mortgage, maxing out your 401K (you are a complete moron if you don't and make $100K), and other bills, there is far less for a car than you think. :nod: But hey, if you don't want to save for the future and live in an apartment, have at it...

What kind of car are you trying to insure?

Well, he bought it. Silver Metallic 2003 Cobra, 8900 miles, Magnaflow catback, and a K&N CAI. Car is in beautiful shape, nearly perfect. Also has the snake in the grill and some black inserts in the bumper. Paid freaking $19,750 for it.

Correct. I've never referred to my car as "Termy" or "Terminator". That drives me crazy as well. It's just a "Cobra". Let everyone else figure out if it's special or not...

My brother's been looking for either an 03/04 Cobra or an 05/06 GTO. We found one which I think might be a steal. 2003 Cobra, 9K miles, never raced, in perfect shape, only a CAI and catback exhaust, and never pullied: $20K. Good deal? I think so. Thoughts?

Technically it's my daughter's car, but she's away at college, so I get to drive it now. And I don't give a fuck what I drive in the winter or what I look like driving it. It's cheap to maintain and I paid a whole $700 for it 2.5 years ago. I think I've put maybe $300 in it since then, and 27K miles. Best car for the money I've ever owned, that $700...

I've got three I drive, between my wife and I: 2005 Mountaineer 1998 Contour SVT 1994 Prizm I try to drive the Prizm as much as possible during the winter, as it's got some rust on it and does OK in the snow. But it also has 205K miles and still gets 30 MPG. And with gas so cheap now, costs about $18 to fill it up and go for 350 miles on a tank...

Damn straight. Me and my wife will be 100% debt free in a few months. All cars paid for, no other debt, other than the mortgage, which has another 13 years or so. We live well below our means, in terms of what we could afford, so that we can retire earlier, plus take more vacations and generally be in good financial standing. Dave Ramsey knows his shit, but really, most of it is common sense... :nod:
