  1. Just head up the street after C&C to the Ackerman parking lot this summer. There will likely be a race going on, and likely people from here will be there.
  2. I'm in the East Bay (San Francisco area) right now. I'm the 'senior american' person here so my manager, who is Japanesse, woke me up at 5AM PST to figure out if we should evacuate to higher ground or not. We are 4 miles inland from the bay and at 120ft ASL. Just means I got less sleep the night before our last day of work and a red eye. However my sister and brother-in-law are in Hawaii and were staying at the beach, they did evacuate. Talked to my sister and they were at 350ft ASL... she was worried they still weren't high enough. :gtfo:
  3. For those prices, regular civic. Prices ignored, TDI. The civic hybrid is one of the last cars I would suggest, right behind the rental HHR I had earlier this week and a coworkers rental Escape this week.
  4. #1 gym no-no, going to a gym and having to be around other gym douchers who do shit like that.
  5. I'm suggesting you to the hoarders show.
  6. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsunami#Characteristics There is a good animation in that link. http://www.tsunami.noaa.gov/ It also seems like Japan had very bad Earthquake in 1995 (Kobe) which prompted a massive change to their natural disaster warning and response system. The Japaneses people really like to plan for every worst case scenario, so this instance might be a little over-reacting too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Hanshin_earthquake#Effect_on_disaster_prevention_planning
  7. I'm with Wagner, nothing will come of this. They will come out today and say they are investigating the allegations. Then they will come out again later once this has blown over in the media and say they could find no 'definitive proof' that any further wrong doing was done.
  8. Well that's not going to happen but it has nothing to do with any of your car choices.
  9. Assuming $3 regular gas and 35 mpg with the new car the cost/mi is about $0.0857 Assuming $3.3 premium gas and 14mpg with hour truck the cost/mi is about $.2357 Difference, how much you would save is $.15/mi To make up $2000 you would have to drive 13,000mi But you still have to add other fixed cost such as ins and tags, which I can't guess at those prices for you. Depending on how much you drive it would just pay for itself after a year or two. I'll do a deeper analysis when at a PC. Why not sell the truck if you are basically going to park it anyways? But lol that this always happens when gas prices go up. It's a little vindication that I always laugh at assholes driving trucks but not towing or hauling anything or driving a big suv with noone else in it. Not saying that is you, just speaking generally.
  10. On a serious note, how about a good alarm with a pager or that notifies you on your smart phone, like the vipers? I know they do remote start on phones, and I assume it does alarm notifications but am not 100% sure. That way if someone is fucking with your car you will be notified and can go 'talk' to them. Edit: pdqgp beat me to it... kind of... his info wasn't there when I originally posted this.
  11. You could take your wheels off and put the car on jack stands every night.
  12. I doubt the money lost from the movies that won't be produced there now is much less than the $400mil of stimulus money he threw out.
  13. If god exist surely god wouldn't care about politics nor should politics care about god.
  14. That is the worst whatever I've ever read in my entire whatever. The OP is actually Charlie Sheen and our brains just can't comprehend the winning... I mean whatever.
  15. Bonus crazy urban downhill race
  16. Yeah, I know, another mountain bike video from me, surprising right? It's good, watch it and be entertained.
  17. I stopped reading as soon as you I saw a parentheses.

  19. Do you know any younger (20-25ish YO) responsible people that could use a few extra bucks? Have you considered having them house/dog sit? They get to stay in probably a much nicer place than they normally do. You get peace of mind that your dogs and house are well take care off. It might cost you about the same; food plus a few bucks a day.. idk, $10 or $15. I'm not even sure how much boarding a dog cost. One of my g/f's best friends does this for some of her friends and it seems to work well.
  20. My bad, I assumed with the car and your general attitude if this wasn't the finished version there would be a bright neon sign spray painted on the side telling everyone "UNDER KONSTRUKTION!"
  21. 2008 was a major model change for the Accord so it's a much different (better and much bigger) car than what he would be looking at in his price range, other Accords pre 08. I still think the 04-08 TL is a nicer car, but I wouldn't call the 08+ Accord cheap feeling either. When sitting in an older Accord (pre 08), you can tell it's age, even if it's in perfect condition. The current Civic probably is probably as nice inside as an 04 Accord. It's amazing the difference a few years and a major model change makes due to how competitive the automotive market is. As soon as some competitor comes out with a new version, the current version of the other car is usually such an underdog. Then a year later that car comes out with a new version that's even better than the other car. I think it's also important to note that the current Accord is a big car that bases at $22k which isn't a lot of money in that segment. It's easy to think an Accord should be a nicer car than it is due to the name, but it's just as budget as the Civic in price relative to the size of the vehicles. Keeping that in mind I think it is (was when it came out in 08) a great car for the price.
  22. But they are based on the same platform so there is no way they drive different. I was just going to say you would be hard pressed to find an 04 TL for sub 10k, but I like to be proven wrong. I know you can find some killer deals on cars at times. For reference, Auto Trader search for 2004 Acura TL within 100 miles http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/searchresults.jsp?lastBeginningStartYear=1981&num_records=25&search_lang=en&page_location=findacar::ispsearchform&search_type=both&distance=100&address=43235&marketZipError=false&make=ACURA&model=TL&make2=&start_year=2004&end_year=2004&min_price=&max_price=&seller_type=b&transmission=&engine=&drive=&doors=&fuel=&max_mileage=&color=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywords_display=&sort_type=priceDESC&body_code=0&certified=&advanced=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&showZipError=y&default_sort=newsortbyprice_DESC&awsp=false&systime=&rdm=1299221635912 Highest Price: $16,990 Lowest Price: $9,744 Average Price: $12,315
  23. Why would you worry about painting them some nice, shinny color? Just rattle can them flat back like you did with the rest of your car.
