I don't know shit about these cars or these engines, but it sounds like this might fall under the clause of 'with enough more, time and/or knowledge you can do anything'. You can put any engine into any car with the right fabrication know-how. I'd guess when you see or hear rumors about 1 car having some power plant swap that it's not some direct swap or a kit or else there would be a lot more people that would have done it.

Didn't think of second sole, but I've heard some good things. Not sure about Road Runner, I always question how good of service I'm going to get at a place that says 'Worlds Largest.....' You can see it just off of of 270 on the north end of town.

I know the guy that co-owns Gallo's Tap Room and Kitchen & Bar. Really cool guy, I can see if he'd have a few minutes for you.

Go to a good local running shoe store and have them check you out. They will get you in the right shoe for your body/feet and what you will be doing. I will suggest Front Runner, as my sister used to work there and I know they are a good, locally owned shop. But anywhere should be able to take care of you if a different shop is closer; Fleet Feet or Columbus Running Company.

There are enough cars in this world that when someone wants way too much for a car you should typically not even bother. Even if you talk them down their bottom number in their head is probably higher than what the car is really worth. You could walk around the corner (figuratively) and find a different car which the asking price is reasonable. They are either purposefully pricing it high to wait and find the perfect buyer, and/or don't really want to sell it. Or in the worst case they are dumb and think the car is really worth that much. The only reason to even consider these situations is if it's a car you really want, have been looking for a long time and it's rare or hard to find. But at that point, the car may be worth that much. And always remember, no 'deal' is too good to walk away from.

http://forum.grasscity.com/photopost/data/500/NotSureIfSerious.jpg Why would you try to purposefully start this kid off on the wrong foot financially? To the OP, how old are you? I'm guessing in highschool, so financing a car is not only probably out of the question, but a really bad idea.

Funny, Chevy just released images of the Curze hatchback before Geneva... but we won't get it. Too bad, that's a sharp looking car for it's class (IMHO), and I love hatchbacks. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2011/02/cruzehatch2-1298649769.jpg Source: http://www.autoblog.com/2011/02/25/production-chevrolet-cruze-hatchback-says-hello-before-big-show/

The numbers I quoted and that article stated is combined (highway+city) for both vehicles. Another caveat is the numbers for the diesel are all just speculation at this point since those are actually numbers from a Holden Curze diesel converted into MPG. From what I've seen all of the numbers are pretty conservative at this point unless you constantly bang gears. How conservative they are is dependent upon how far you differ from the EPAs test procedure and how differently the vehicle behaves at that point. The EPA actually just changed their test procedure a few years ago and the result was more conservative (lower) numbers. For vehicles produced before this time frame you can actually see new and 'old' (same as was on the sticker when you purchased it) on fueleconomy.gov Another interesting tidbit is that the test procedure NHTSA uses, and what goes into CAFE is not the same as what the EPA uses and by law has to go on the sticker. The NHTSA/CAFE numbers are much higher. So don't freak out too awfully much about the new CAFE targets being super high, as these are not the same as EPA numbers.

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=26 We are going to ditch cable soon. After the winter ends and I have some more time I'm building a computer. Then once I get it working well we will pull the plug. We should be able to get 90%+ of what we currently watch through iTunes, Hulu (maybe get Hulu plus), NetFlix, broadcasters websites, Amazon. I won't miss anything in particular. You don't even have to ditch cable, 'live' TV unless that's your goal. Analog cable + Over The Air digital (ATSC) http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/prods_hvr_internal.html Quad digital cable tuner (using a cable card) http://www.cetoncorp.com/ I'll probably throw an OTA card in mine I was going to throw the Ceton in there and keep cable, but we recently decided to just ditch cable all together. I will probably throw an OTA card in there for ease of watching some TV (via live or recorded). About half of what we watch is on regular broadcast channels anyways. I'm also going to rip my movies to it so my library is on there and we won't have to use DVD's unless we get a new movie or rent something. I probably won't bother with torrents or any downloads. I don't need to watch anything that badly. I'd say build a PC and see how it goes before you pull the plug. That way you get it setup how you want before you shut cable off 100%. At least that is what I plan to do. If you just want something to watch stuff online that works out of the box and that's it, just get something prebuilt. I don't like the restriction of Boxee, or really any box like that. For example Hulu and Netflix are fighting with these box makers and can/have shut of the service access to them. The Dell Zino looks good for that. http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-zino-hd-410/pd?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn

Only do Americinn (were we stay up North) because we stay there quite a few times a year and they send you a $40 check for every 10 nights. Do Delta rewards since we usually fly with them, don't bother with any of the others. I also don't bother with any other hotel rewards since I rarely stay elsewhere. Discover, mostly use for travel and other big purchases. Used to do Giant Eagle when we shopped there (shopping all local now). I generally don't bother unless the benefit is good and I shop there often. Pisses me off that everywhere has some card now, since it's just more shit to carry around in your pocket. Especially grocery stores since you get punished with higher prices if you don't use your card.

I don't regret selling any, because like someone else said I had good reasons for selling them. But the car I miss the most is G-Body too, but don't have any pictures handy. I wrecked it. My first car was an 1987 Monte Carlo LS. Some old lady owned it, her grandson inhereted it and never drove it. I got it around 1997 with 80kmi and it was still nearly new on the inside and outside. I will own another one some day, and putting an LC2 with a 6 speed behind it would be the dream. :bangbang:

Place to expand center bore on wheels
Trouble Maker replied to greg1647545532's topic in Tech and Tips
The lugs are basically just there to hold the wheel on in the plane parallel to the ground. They are not there to transfer the massive amounts of force transfered from the tire to the wheel to the vehicles suspension. That is the job of the wheel to the knuckle via the hub bore on the wheel to the hub seat on the knuckle. So the hub bore should either be the same size, or larger and use hub-centric rings. Of course the lugs do take some forces anyways, but when you don't do a hub-centric wheel or ring they take more forces in directions they were not originally intended for. You can get away with not doing a hub-centric wheel or ring, but it's not ideal. -

I will admit, when I saw it, I shit my pants. I think this is the hearkening of diesels being main stream in the US, which I think is just cool But if it only gets 1MPG more (combined) than the Chevy Curze Eco, at probably thousands of dollars more, what's the point? http://www.autoblog.com/2011/02/21/report-diesel-chevrolet-cruze-confirmed-for-u-s/

Going out there for work, probably won't have much time to do very much other than work, sleep and eat. So where should I go eat?

US airways in Columbus airport still slow as molasses?
Trouble Maker replied to Trouble Maker's topic in Dumpster
That cost money and this is a work trip. While I usually do this to guarantee my seat, that does very little to help this situation since I have to check bags. We've never had a problem with them. This summer we had a group of ~10 with a very short layover. Our first flight got delayed so we couldn't make our second, they got us on a later direct flight, bumped to first class with dinner plus 1.5 times miles for first class and 5000 free miles. That's the only flight issue we've had with them in the dozen or so flights I've had with them since the merger. I would say they did everything they could to remedy the situation. The main issue with US Airways that I've seen (every time I've been by there in the morning), and I've experienced once, is the very long check in line, when no one else has a line. By the time I was to the check in the lady was a bitch, but whatever, I can deal with that. Taking an extra 30 minutes-1hour to check in sucks, and mostly I have to plan for it since I usually get to the airport ~1 hour before my flight. -
We used to fly NWA and their checkin was right next to US Air. There was always a huge line at US Air even when I went through checkin at NWA in 5 minutes. Flew with them once years ago and it was the same story. Now that NWA has ben nomed up by Delta I don't see US Airs check in anymore.... but for some reason we are flying them on Sunday. Do they still have lazy assholes working checkin and I should assume to spend an hour at checkin or have they gotten their act together?

We will be using this for some driver training at work. What year is good? We are looking at used ones, but want lowish mileage and clean. It seems like there was a change at 1999, so that's what I was looking at. Seems like you can get these for $6-7k? What all should we do to it when we get it? Of course all of the usual maintenance stuff. Replace all of the brakes and pads with this, suspension with this, put this cage in it. What about rim size, should we just get good tires for the 14" wheels if it still has those, or just ditch them right away and get 15" wheels and tires? Anything I'm missing, or another place I should look for parts (that was the only Miata parts website I knew about).

Yeah, I guess I should say I'm not a hot sauce guy, so I have no idea how their hot sauce is. But the salsas, bean dip, chips and jambalaya (base) I've had from there has all be excellent. The bean dip is especially amazing, and since they don't always have it I will usually get it if they have it.
-
They have a store in the North Market and usually have a ton of stuff out to taste, including some of the hot sauces. Every product I've had from them has been really good.

You're a real winner aren't you?
