Old member coming back, trying to find some old pics
Trouble Maker replied to Freiheit's topic in Introductions
Jon, they've done quite a few purgings lately, getting rid of old dormant users, so your old UN is gone. Your post are still there and I can find some by searching post for your name. There were post that had pictures in them, but none of the links are good anymore. I'll positive rep you anyways. -

Which internet provider, speed should I get?
Trouble Maker replied to Trouble Maker's topic in Dumpster
If you know so much, then just come out and say it. I posted this thread for good info, so if you have it I would greatly appreciate it. You should probably also disclose who you work for since that might bias you a little bit, just to be honest about the situation (but I'm sure it will be obvious anyways). -

Which internet provider, speed should I get?
Trouble Maker replied to Trouble Maker's topic in Dumpster
But if I can get ATT 12mb for the same price as TWC 7mb why not? Near bethel and godown, I'd guess those will be $$$ and more speed than what I need. I thought so too, but it seems like their Internet only is less expensive unless I'm missing something. Mostly why I posted this. Anyone know if you can do cable cards with ATT cable or do you have to use their boxes. -
So we are probably going to cut the cable cord. Currently have 8mb from Wow, plus their cable. I started looking around out of curiosity and unless I'm missing something the other providers are much less expensive for internet only? Wow 8mb is $58 ATT Uverse 12mb is $45 (18mb is $55) Time Warner 7mb is $45 (15mb is $55) Am I missing something or is Wow expensive for just internet? How are the other providers, reliability, customer service, etc.? What speed should I get for lots of (highest video quality I can get) streaming? I got 8mb for that reason, is it the sweet spot for that they of use right now or is it even too much? Uverse has a 6mb for $40/month, Wow and Time Warner's next lower tier is 2mb so too slow. Pretty often one of us will be watching TV while the other one browses on a different PC, and rarely both of us will watch streaming on separate PCs. I don't really like Time Warner so I would prefer Uverse.... but if we readd cable at some point I will probably throw a digital cable tuner in the PC and I don't think you can get cable cards through Uverse. If we are stuck with Uverse because of some contract that would suck. But Uverse would also be easy because our phones are through ATT. I'm not sure but I don't think we would get a bundle discount because that's only 2 services and you need 3 to get discounts.

How in the fuck did we take 1.5 pages and go from talking about 12-15k car to a B8 S4?

Vonn Jazz, even though their acoustics are shitty. The food and drink were good, nice place other than the acoustics and it seems like they get a lot of good talent in there. http://www.vonnjazz.com/ I'm sad I only had a chance to go to Martini Park once. Edit: Pedro beat me to it, but I'll second it. The band playing on the 14th seems pretty good from the 30 seconds I listened to them.

I don't like the way the word it when they are talking about the reserves, I think it's misleading. Which makes it sound like if I deposit $100, the bank keeps that $100, but 'makes' another $90 to lend out. But what actually happens is that if I deposit $100, the bank has to keep $10 (10% reserve) and can loan out $90 of that. Much different situation and the later leads to less reserves but more money in the economy. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserve_requirement It's what makes our modern, debt based economy work and grow. If a bank had to keep all of your money at the bank they would have no money to loan out. This article also makes a big deal about money being real money or electronic, what's the difference? It also seems like some people are confusing reserves with how much money they can walk into the bank and get.

Are you really that dumb that you misunderstood his post that much? Lol at posting something as news from a political opinion magazine.

Anybody know of any laptop makers that still put PC card slots (PCMCIA) in new laptops? If it has two full slots you get bonus points. If it's not the size of a tower PC it would also be great. Not interested in PC card to express or USB adaptors.

Anyone know anything about RX-8 swaps?
Trouble Maker replied to greg1647545532's topic in Passing Lane
If you start swapping out ECU's, even using the same maker (i.e. Mazda) some things might line up, but a single CAN signal not lined up will cause an error and without access to detailed info in the ECU's and/or a deep understating of CAN it will be hard to tell what's really wrong. -
Energy star means shit, you can buy that rating and most of what is rated is probably 'self tested' by whoever makes it. And you have a five thousand square foot house, did you really think you were going to heat it for $100 a month when it got cold? You can have an 80" TV that sucks down 500watts that's energy star rated and a 40" tv that uses 200watts that's not because the 80" TV is efficient compared to other 80" TV's and the 40" is not. The whole system is beyond flawed. But, your house probably could be more efficient. Do you actually know what they are supposed to do to get that rating? I'm not sure, but you would want to look into it if you are actually concerned about this. Did they actually do it? If you want your house to actually be efficient it's time to get an energy audit done and work on the problem areas. Since you know the sliding glass door and maybe the chimney is an issue those would be a good place to start. It sucks because it's a new house, but putting plastic over the sliding glass door is a band-aid. Here is Energy Star's page on rated houses, I haven't read over it yet, but it would be a good place to start. Once you know what went into your house that's actually efficient, you can figure out where the issues may be and start to work! http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=new_homes.hm_index The only rating that is any good in the building industry (that I know of) is LEED and that's mostly for big buildings.
