That will be my first neighborhood choice when we buy in a few years, so I really like that area. I don't think Waggoner is a Clintonville person, and there's probably not a single house in that neighborhood that's in the price range he is looking at.

I think you are thinking about this wrong. With both solar and wind the power isn't (necessarily) being generated when you use it. Most people don't use batteries since they stay connected to the grid. Then just back-feed and 'spin the meter backwards' when they are producing more power than they are using. So your power goes out, but there is no wind, you're fucked. Batteries to take care of this problem greatly increase the cost and complexity of the system. You could have the batteries to cover you, without the turbine and it would do the same thing. I'm not saying it's not possible, I just don't think it's the best solution. If the purpose of this is cover power outages I don't think a wind turbine or solar panels will work for you. Only a generator is going to do what you want.

Maybe there is something I'm missing, but since the resale value is higher for you, then it's also higher for the person who is selling it to you, so the buying price is higher for you, so you can sell it at a higher price later. If you bought somewhere less attractive, then the buying price and selling price would be less. But in the mean time your house payments were lower on the less expensive house. It's not like the house in the nicer area is necessarily going to appreciate faster. This timing might make a difference in that equation since everything is down right now, and if everything goes back up you will probably gain more in a nicer area/school district. I think that 'if everything goes back up' (faster than inflation) is a huge if.

Kids in the future or not? If no kids are planned, I don't think the schools should really matter. Everyone will yell 'resale, resale, resale!' and I will say 'buying price!'

I'm glad they were helpful. If that's enough, that's fine, but I'm a firm believer in going and feeling and driving cars. Go sit in an 04 Accord and an 04 TL and an 06 civic so you can be 100% sure of your choice. Just sitting in them should be enough to know which decision is right for you. Then drive them to be sure!

The cars share probably no interior or exterior pieces, different levels of sound deadening, not the same engine, no suspension, radio, steering wheel. Designed by different groups for different markets. I hope that most people on here aren't 90% of the population when it comes to cars. 90% of people couldn't tell the difference between a Civic and a Lambro-fucking-ghini if they drove the two back to back. That doesn't mean there is not a difference. If you can't drive the an Accord and TL and notice the difference, do yourself a favor and buy the Civic because you won't notice that difference either.

Well really neither, though I will say I don't know a ton about these cars. Having spent a lot of seat time in the minor model refresh of the TL (07) I can say it's a really fun car to drive. I would definitely pick the TL first any day of the week. The only small (not really that small) kink in that is you can probably find an 06 civic for less money, with less miles and it gets better gas mileage than an 04 TL. Edmunds.com says 11k for 04TL and 8k for 06 civic. That's not a small amount of money. And I know that's not necessarily what they go for, but I still can't image the Civic not being less to buy than the TL. It really depends on what you want out of the car. I think it's hard to really compare these two, other than that they are from the same maker. Would you be comparing an 04 BMW 3 series to an 06 civic?

You need to learn how to can. We have a fraction of the space and plants that you do, and it's till well worth it. Carri got excited a few weeks ago and already started our seedlings inside. Has anyone gotten bell peppers to grow? We suck at those. Will probably do 3ish tomato, a few broccoli, spinach, snap pees, cucumber. Our garden space, doesn't get a ton of sun, but it's what we have to work with! The plastic pots are cheap makeshift composters.
