So I got a beatR, this is the first car I've had in 7 years or so that I'm not putting Mobile 1 and $10+ filters in. What cheaper oil and filter's are good.
If you got a deal on it, just deal with the manual windows and locks or sell it for more than you bought it for and buy one with power windows and locks. If you didn't get a deal on it, got it for a normal price, I would still say just deal with it. It's really not that bad.
Exactly what I was thinking. My dad's car was on the side of 270 for 1 day last week when it 'broke down', only waiting for/looking for a part. The part was going to come in the next day, but he didn't want it to sit there for that long, so he got it towed. He just drives a Maxima. I couldn't see letting a C6 Z06 sit on the highway at all. Don't they come with road side assistance?
That's exactly why I'm working to be debt free, then save up for a down payment, then buy a house. My only debt is a 'small' amount of student loans, but I still want to be debt free before going into a bunch more debt buying a house. My student loan payments are only $110 a month, but that's $110 more cushion in my budget when I buy a house if shit goes sideways (losing a job). $110 seems like nothing, but to put it in perspective, thats' $1320/year, or far more (actually probably double) than 1 of my house payments would be in the price range I will buy my first house in.
Wish I could buy another car right now. My first car was an 87 LS Monte Carlo and I will own another one at some point. Loved that car, wish I would have never wrecked it.... 3 times.
Do you mean starving it of air?
Just wondering, when people say that I usually imply fuel, but I'm guessing you mean air in this case.
n/m, read the rest of the thread.
If I had $500 burning a hole in my pocket right now I would probably have that pacman machine in my basement. I remember playing on one of those in the Pizza Hut on the west side growing up.
1) Why in the fuck did you come back again?
2) "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety"
Also wish I had the money to burn to get the discrete graphics, but it's not something I would use often. Actually probably something I would use just because it was there. With the stock integrated graphics I won't be tempted to waste (more of) my time playing games on it.
Not a huge computer guy, so I can't say processor wise, or even how much memory I would want/need. Just want something decent and new. All of our computers are pretty old. Mostly simple stuff, but some streaming video. I'm thinking middle of the line processor, integrated video is ok, 2-3gb of ram, ~300gb HD, at least DVD player/CD writer, preferable DVD/CD writer. Definitely want a 13" screen.
HDMI output on the XPS, sold.
Hmm, I thought you were talking about the Studio XPS 13 at first, which I would love to get but too much $$$. On Dell's website now and those look intriguing, going to check them out more.
Honestly hated our old ones at work, but it was one model and the only experience I've had with them. Love that we have IBM's now. They are twice as much (at least) for the equivalent or I'd get one. It's all about price points.
Thinking about the Dell Inspiron 13. Something in that range, smaller and light, but not a netbook. Kind of in between the netbook and notebook. I've looked at a few 13" models and I'm 99% sure that's what I want to go with. Must have a built in CD/DVD drive, so no 'big' netbooks.
Looking at around the $700-800 range (this will get a decent speced/optioned Dell plus docking station w/my companies discount). Oh yeah, I get a 7% discount on dells on top of whatever discount they are offering, so that helps and it's why I started there.
What else should I look at? I have to be able to go somewhere local to fondle it.
Their warehouse (one of them) is up in Cleveland, they must stock everything under the sun or something. I've had the same experience, order today, get it tomorrow (assuming business/shipping days).
The half goes right by the lenox on olentangy. Means the road may (probably?) will be shut down for part of the time we are down there. I'm sure there will still be ways to get in and out, just be aware if you haven't already left yet.

Go in with cash and cash only then for however much you want to spend. You won't get a 'real' road bike for that much, but you can get a real bike for that much, put together by real bike mechanics, from any bike shop around here. You will get something that doesn't work and breaks in less than six months (if you actually use it at all) from wally world or target*. You'll end up either having to tune the bike up yourself, or pay that same shop to tune it up.
*Target 'carries' a brand called Forge, you can only get them online and Target never touches them (last time I heard) drop shipped from Forge. A little assembly required. They are great bikes for the price.

Either that or you can not listen to my advice again and set yourself up for being 'bored' with it in six months, or disappointed with your purchase because it doesn't work.
Otherwise, go to a real bike store.

If you can't do everything on a bike yourself, you shouldn't touch anything on your car, ever.
Around here? I've only ever seen that stuff on tap in Southern California. Probably anywhere with a high Mexican population.
Tito's>* Try it, you won't be disappointed. Way better than Smirnoff crap.
