graemlins/thatfunny.gif I didn't even catch that when I read his post.

+1. The thing about them getting lonely is true too. I've never heard the part about them dying, but it very well could be true. But everyone I've know that's had ferrets has had more than one so they can keep each other company.

Was wondering if some people wanted to get together later this week or this weekend and head over to MRM. It’s supposed to get cold again tonight. Not sure if I'll be able to go Tuesday, still need to heal from yesterday. Learned how to do rails (on skis), that shit is hard. So later in the week or the weekend would be better, but post whatever day would be good. graemlins/thumb.gif

You're one of 'those' people. I can't spell. People who can't spell know that a dictionary doesn't help at all. But I know I can't spell and I copy almost everything I post over into word to make sure I didn't get anything wrong. It's really not that hard. My favorites are using words wrong. Like their, there and they're. To and too. This one is too simple to understand.

Actually my car just does it at set intervals too, it doesn't adjust. That's just what I've read about other cars that adjust the intervals. For some reason I got that his car did that too, don't know where I got that from though. -

When my service 'light' comes on in the Audi I have to reset it manually. There is a procedure for it in my owners manual (the little crap glove box book) so it might be in yours too. On any car I know of they vary the interval of the oil change from sensor inputs that are already on the car. Like throttle (load), temps. I.E. if you get on it while the car is still cold, it might make it shorter, if you get on it while the car is warm it might make it shorter too but not as much as the previous situation. And if you are easier on the car than they assume the average person is, it might be longer. So when you put the new oil in, it isn't going to know that it's new from any sensor in the car. I don't know of any car that actually measures any of the properties of the oil (other than temp) to use for this, but if anyone else did I would find it very interesting to read about what the measure. Even on really high end cars I don't think it would be needed. You should be able to basically interpolate what's happened to the oil over time from sensors that are already on a modern day car. -

Trust me, I HATE that movie, but it does have some funny quotes.

Jeff, Alex didn't say anything bad about the fact that you got this car or drive SUV's. That was a bit uncalled for. Nice ride. I actually like that color.

What's the biggest lobster you've ever seen? What's the biggest you've ever eaten? ~7.5lbs for me! My aunt and uncle down in Florida have a 42' boat (68 Hattris Yatch), and I was down there one summer for a week three years ago. We went out about 10 miles from Ponce Inlet to a culvert. My dad, uncle, and uncle’s friend went diving for lobster. My dad came up with nothing, my uncle had the littlest one... my uncles friend had five other lobster including the biggest one. He said he chased off a small shark to get it, I almost still believe him. He's kind of crazy. He started diving when they had reserve portions of in the tanks because they didn't have pressure gauges, so he just dives until it's starting to get a little hard to breath. http://img57.exs.cx/img57/4927/allen2yg.th.jpg http://img57.exs.cx/img57/8748/catch1lm.th.jpg

So you are going to spend more on this than you would normally. Just get a normal credit card and put it (a normal mattress) on there, and pay it off. Then put stuff you would normally buy on there, gas, food; just make sure you watch how much you spend. Not saying whether those expensive mattresses are worth it or not. It just sounds like you wouldn't normally spend that much on a mattress, sounds like a silly excuse to spend that much on a mattress.

Good movie, anyone thinking about going and seeing this, sounds like a good opportunity. I'd think about going but I've already seen it twice.

Debate of the day: Synthetic Oil Life
Trouble Maker replied to Mowgli1647545497's topic in Passing Lane
Fuck oil change places. I've heard too many horror stories. A bunch of stoners tightening down two things that could spell a quick disaster for my engine, no thanks. The one time when I did that with the talon the put one of those Fram Sure grip filters on my car. The only tool I had to remove that size oil filter was one of those hex head looking plastic pieces that you can connect to a socket wrench. That type of tool won't work on those filters. So I had to get out from under the car and go buy one of the 'strap' oil filter tools. PITA. Not to mention I haven't heard great things about Fram oil filters. At any rate, they won't let me take my own oil and filter into Jiffy Lube, or else I might have last time. Any place around that will but won't charge way too much for that service? I found a place that will let me use my own, but they wanted something like $30 for a job that takes 15 minutes and they aren't providing any materials. Sure, does that come with anal lube? -
Glad all of our harassment made a lasting impression on you. graemlins/thumb.gif I would suggest against this if you want it to be fast, unless if has the name 'Cosworth' somewhere on it. graemlins/lol.gif Glad to hear you are back safe.

Debate of the day: Synthetic Oil Life
Trouble Maker replied to Mowgli1647545497's topic in Passing Lane
Yeah, it's fine in during warmer times. But I'm due for my second oil change in the cold and I don't have a garage. Not very much fun. It's ok, I changed my spark plugs the other day in sub freezing temps. I can handel it. graemlins/thumb.gif [/badass] graemlins/lol.gif -
http://www.hjchelmets.com/csx2_scoop.htm It says DOT approved. I would assume M00. So people know what they are actually buying, what's the rating on the helmet? I hope for your sake it's not that one because of the MSRP, just trying to get people some more info (like pics and a rating). But I didn't see any other helmet by that name on their site.

Debate of the day: Synthetic Oil Life
Trouble Maker replied to Mowgli1647545497's topic in Passing Lane
Des and Mowgil hit it on the head. Only way to end this debate here is if a bunch of people on here with a bunch of different cars did an oil analysis for a few oil changes. They will tell you how much good stuff is left in the oil and how much bad stuff from you engine has gotten into the oil. I know some companies will even suggest whether you go longer or shorter on the intervals. All of the guys over on Audi World w/S4's who do this are running 7, 8, 9kmi. And our engines run fairly hot; this is on Mobile 1 Synthetic 0-w40 for most of them (suggested for our cars is 5-w40). I bet those engines aren't built that much better than just about any other engine on the market (as far as what actually wears down and can get in the oil). I'd be willing to bet that just about any modern car can go quite a bit longer than 3kmi. That's just a way for the oil companies to make more money. Synthetic will be able to take the heat more before it breaks down, that's why I run it. I don't want a track day to ruin my oil when I have to drive home. Does that mean I don’t try to change my oil ever 3-4kmi? No Do I worry if I don’t have time to get to it until 5k? Definitely not and you shouldn't either (under 'normal' driving conditions). -
"Height 12 to 13 inches at the withers; weight, proportionate to height, between 13 and 18 pounds." Sounds like a rat dog to me.
