If that price is cool and Red Lude SH doesn't pick it up, I'll take it.

I will come every once in a while to sub. I probably won't commit to every week though. I'll PM you my number, if you know you are going to be short on people some week call me, or I might just come out other days too to sub. I'm not very good though.
-
Yeah, I always assume when I put money down on something like that, that if I back out, it's gone. It's probably good to state it though up front with the person so there isn't any confusion, or possible hard feelings about the situation. It will just make everything go smoother.

The Passat thing is an old Joke. It's actually an S4, so both of my cars are AWD.
-
Werd, if we do it, I'll be on hand to help if Brian needs it, and to hang out with everyone. Don't own a car that can be dynoed on his dyno unfortunately. Maybe I can talk my dad into dynoing his car.

Hmm, that's sounds REALLY cheap. That's probably just to lay wax down. See how much it cost to remove your old wax, lay new down, and sharpen the edges, that is ideal. Especially since it sounds like you haven't had it done in a long time. Not a problem man, I help out where I can.

Doesn't appear to be either, where is Dr. Martin located at?
-
Unfortunately neither of them seem to be covered under my plan. I will probably still call Cigna to make sure I'm not missing something online, that they can see there. Doubt it though. Thanks Ryan, I will keep that in mind once I get a few that I would like to look into some more.

Yeah, no shit. To be honest, this is the worst shape I've ever been in. As far as how I feel and how I look too. Changed my diet last week and started working out a little. Will probably be mainly skiing until spring comes around though, this cold weather sucks for running. My sister wants me to do a tri with her in the summer, so I need to get in shape anyways. If I still have this gut and Brian pokes at it next time I'm up there, I swear I will wrestle with him and lose, I mean, and kick his ass! [ 02. February 2005, 11:16 AM: Message edited by: Neo ]

All three are impacted. None are showing or every will, and one is pointed towards the other teeth, not up. Yeah, I really do only have three. Either you didn't have general anesthesia, or you just reacted VERY well to it. I had to fast the night before my last one, it was in the morning. I didn't even try to eat anything for about a day and a half. I eat ALOT (probably 3-5k Calories a day), and I didn't eat anything for almost two days. I couldn't hold anything down for a little while longer. I was living off of Jell-O, Gatorade, and instant mashed potatoes for about 4 more days. That's not the worst I've heard either. Some people can't hold food down for days (3 or 4) after they have anything done which requires general anesthesia. I think it was more of a reaction to the anesthesia than anything else, but how long you are under is directly related to whether they are impacted or not. I'll see if I can find a place that is at that location, thanks Phil. I won't take any of them unless I absolutely have to anyways. If the surgery is done well, I shouldn't need any, I didn't last time. Only took Ibuprofen on a periodic basis to keep swelling down.

The dreaded time has come for my second ever oral surgery. I knew this was coming and I've not been looking forward to it. The last one was not a barrel of fun to be exact. To make this as 'pleasant' a process as possible, I figured I'd come here and get some suggestions. Who have you or people you know used for procedures like this, and how did everything turn out? Keep in mind that I vastly prefer they be covered under my PPO provider (Cigna). If you’re not sure if they are or not, you can post who you'd suggest and I can search, or you can go here and search if you feel so inclined. Obviously do dentist, columbus; next page, ppo, oral surgeon. I’d also kind of prefer they are near the Westside, just so the drive home is shorter. I was miserable when I got out of the last one, general anesthesia is not my friend. Obviously I’d sacrifice this to get someone I know will do a good job, especially with a procedure like this. I'd just go to the last one I went to, but they are 'out of network' for my PPO, meaning they would cover 70% and not 90%, like they do for 'in network'. TIA. I really do appreciate it.

Ditto to what everyone said. I'll take a NICE set of B's any day. Generally speaking, the bigger they get, the nastier looking they get.

If you want to do it right, it will cost you more initially than it would to take it into a shop. http://img159.exs.cx/img159/7537/skitunning2hw.th.jpg That's what you'll need for the 'basics'. That's about $75 worth of crap, minus the Iron (moms old iron), and I don't have anything to remove the wax. You might be able get away with not sharpening the edges, that tool alone (orange piece) is ~$40, plus another ~$10 for the diamond piece you see at the left bottom. I wouldn’t suggest it though. I will probably buy an iron next year because they are just easier to use if they are made for tuning. They don't have the holes a regular iron does, and the have a sloped front edge, which should help waxing the curved parts of the skis/snowboards. Despite all of this, I always get my stuff professionally done at the beginning of every season. I just use all of that stuff to tune my skis throughout the season. Usually about every 6 times or so, depending on how long I’m out/what the bases look and feel like. You could probably get away with just getting wax and a piece of Plexiglas to clean off the wax, if you have an old iron to use (it will pretty much ruin the iron for clothes). I wouldn't suggest it though. Here's a crash course of what I do, and have basically been told to do by the local ski/snowboard shop I always go to. A hard wax that you melt on, like the one you can see in the picture, is what you usually want. You drip it onto the base everywhere with the iron, and then you use the iron to spread it out evenly everywhere. DO NOT hold the iron in any one spot, ever, you can burn the base. After you get a nice even base everywhere, you use the piece of plexi glass to scrape it off. Then I use the nylon brush to rough it all up a little. You don't want a perfectly smooth base, it can cause a suction when the surface is flat to the snow. Pretty simple, time consuming, and messy. Sharpening, I won't go into the angles on the edges, just because I don't know that much yet. I've only sharpened one set of skis so far. That tool will let you set the angle, and you run it up and down the edge two times or so. First you do it with a metal file to set the angle/sharpen, then you do it with the diamond plated piece to polish/debur. If your edges are especially nasty/rusty, you might want to add a step before all of that with the diamond plated piece to help clear some of that off. You can probably find more tips on this, and general tuning guidelines (as far as angles) at the websites bellow. Visit http://www.fktools-us.com/ and http://www.swixsport.com Those two companies make all of the stuff I use, and it looks like they have tip sections on their website too. I've never done my board before, but I'm sure it would be pretty much the same process. You can hit me up on AIM sometime if you have any more questions, as I've waxed my skis dozens of times, and started sharpening the edges this year. Just about any shop in Columbus, especially if they wax and tune, will have everything you need in stock, and be able to give you tuning tips too. My suggestion, especially to maximize your enjoyment in Snowshoe, is to take it somewhere and shell out the $30-$40 it cost. Get the board in now though, wait times can be long this time of year (I always do mine far before the beginning of the season).

DONT get rid of the Jetta if you get that. Other than that, if you can afford it (seriously look at the financial aspect of owning it), get it.

Werd. Just an example. This is just for the principle and interest portion, and I used www.bankrate.com, which has a pretty cool amortization table, web-based, program. Scenario 1: $100,000 loan, 6%, 30 year. If you make every minimum payment, the payment will be $600, you will pay $115,000 in interest, and you have the house paid down twenty percent after 10 years and 6 months. Scenario 2: $100,000 loan, 6%, 20 year. If you make every minimum payment, the payment will be $716, you will pay $72,000 in interest, and you have the house paid down twenty percent after 6 years and 4 months. Scenario 2: $100,000 loan, 6%, 15 year. If you make every minimum payment, the payment will be $843, you will pay $52,000 in interest, and you have the house paid down twenty percent after 4 years and 3 months. Congratulations on the house, looks nice. Despite even looking at the difference, it’s easy to sometimes justify the lower payment amount, or being able to buy a nicer house right now. A lot of people in that situation will probably refinance to a shorter loan down the road when the can afford a higher house payment. At least he’s not ‘throwing’ away money on an apartment, and it sounds like he already has quite a bit of equity in the house, simply from the payment price.

OH NO, Lemiwinks, RUN!

You're just mad because her trailer is probably nicer than yours, and yours isn't nice enough for any of the pick up lines you try to lay down in the bars about it. "Hey buby, wana come see my double wide. The ruuf only leaks when it rains really herd."

Haha, no. I've actually never seen it any of the times I've been up there. But I guess one of the guys I was up there with got an offer for a ride by some older ex-stripper looking woman in that van a different time he was up there. I'm betting that van wasn't driving around on Saturday (8-12" of snow everywhere).

Lol. Yeah, I hope we continue our luck too. We all did decent the time before that. Three of us started out with $100 in chips at the Black Jack table, I had ~$400 at one point, Saunders had ~$300 and Nate ~$600. Jim only started out with $40 and had $240. Then we kept playing and all pissed it away. That's why Nate adopted the 'doubling' policy. Only person who did shit at Black Jack this time was Nate. The cards were horrible; the dealer got 6 or 7 black jacks while we were sitting there. graemlins/cry.gif They have weird Poker tables, like Caribbean poker and some others. I don't know how to play any of them or what all they are though, easier to win (or not lose as much) money at Black Jack. I usually just walk by; sometimes stop with a passing interest for a few seconds. I've never watched long enough to pay attention to how the games are played. I'm sure they have Hold em' tournaments sometimes too, just have to figure out when they are if you'd rather play that game. Thanks man. Yeah, Nate is ridiculous. That $600 he had the time before last was the result of betting all $300 he had (table limit), and winning. Yeah, I’ve been talking to Steve fairly often about school affairs as of late. A bunch of bullshit. I'm going up to Mad River for a few hours after I shower and pack up, then heading up to school. I'm planning on getting wasted and leaving a shit on some of the administrations lawns.

So last weekend me and some people from school went to Toledo on Friday night and stayed at two friends of ours place, then went up to Windsor and stayed there Saturday night. We finally got up to Windsor through all of the snow at a little after two. All of the snow was great, because of it we couldn't get any cabs or shuttles, so we had to walk everywhere and it was -29 in Detroit and very windy. Good thing I couldn't feel anything after we left the first bar to go to the second bar. But before any massive consumption of beer and spirits was to occur, we must first go ceremoniously sacrifice money to the Windsor gods. So Saunders and Jim were on one Black Jack table but we didn't see them so we went to another Black Jack table. While walking there we passed Frye and Joy at the Roulette table. Me, Nate, Matt and Bix all went to the other table. We all started out with $100 in chips, and we all pissed most of it away but Nate. Nate said he was going to leave when he doubled his money. He bet $50 and like his cards, so he doubled up, and won. He had turned his $100 into $200 and got up and left. I was still at the Black Jack table and everyone else had gone down to the Roulette table. I hear some clapping coming from there, so I think to myself "Damn, wonder what I just missed?" I get done with Black Jack and walk down there. Saunders boss always gives him $20 when he goes up there to put onto 27. It hit, payout on numbers is 35:1, 35*$20=$700! I think, damn, that's pretty cool. I look down at Nates stack and he has 7 stacks of 20 chips. I ask someone how much they are worth a piece and Saunders told me $5 a piece. That means Nate has $700 sitting in front of him. Remember, he started with $100 at Black Jack, turned that into $200, and had just walked down there about 20 minutes ago. He was just putting $5 on 3 or 4 numbers and kept hitting here and there. He hit when Saunders hit on 27, and he kept putting on 27. Well 27 hit three times in a row about 10 spins later. Nate ended up walking away with ~$1000. Needless to say, Nate bought quite a few drinks that night. I just thought I'd share because I though it was a pretty cool way to start out a night up there. graemlins/thumb.gif

Fucking grow up and edit your post asshole. It's not about whether you offended him or not. You took a stab at how he makes money, totally unfounded too. He COULD take this to court for slander. You can take everything on this board as a grain of salt all you want, and most of it should be. But when you go over the line any time in life, being a man is about fixing your mistakes. Right now you’re proving your nothing but a child. Thanks for editing your post Jon. [ 27. January 2005, 08:16 PM: Message edited by: Neo ]

You should go check out Progressive Audio on High St. in the campus area. I bet they might have something else you like. If you’re into higher end audio, it's definitely worth a trip there regardless. You can check them out at www.progressiveaudio.com I wouldn't spend my money at any other brick & mortar store in Columbus. They do carry Martin Logan speakers, which make Magneplanar style speakers. Those will probably give you an idea of what that type of speaker sounds like. Though, I believe every speaker they make has a built in sub-woofer. I hope this wouldn't be a problem though; as you should use the MMG's with a sub, they don't go down low enough. Don't they have some sort of return policy if you don't like them? My dad's old boss has a set, but he hasn't talked to him since he got laid off. My dad said he seemed to like them though. I don't know anyone else who owns a set though, sorry. I would like to hear them if you get them. Oh yeah, if you go up there, check out the NHT ST4's. I plan on getting those sometime in the future; probably a little more than what you want to spend though, based on the price of the MMG's. What do you have to hook these up to and/or what are you planning on getting? Just curious. Good luck with buying some new speakers. graemlins/thumb.gif [ 25. For your situation, with the wife driving it daily, I'd definitely have to say M3.

You'd probably lose money on the gas, but that's not where a gas station makes their money from what I've heard. They make their money on everything inside, and for places like Vinces Dads, the service too.
