I agree that the VQ V6 is a great engine, and the Nissan CVT is the best I've driven (for a CVT to be successful it needs to be on an engine that is smooth, quiet, and has a broad torque curve...that way it doesn't always seem to be revving high) However, almost any engine on today's market will go 100k+ miles if properly maintained. Buicks are at the top of the list for safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. The new LaCrosse is nothing like an older model with a 3.8L, and that's a good thing. Personally, i would compare the Lacrosse less with the Taurus and more with the Lincoln MKS. P.S. The VQ isn't without its faults either. just do a search and see how many people have had the engines stall while driving. Seems like they've had some bad crank sensors. My Altima cranks forever before it starts too. But it always starts right up on the second try, no matter how long (or short) I let it crank the first time.

Buick has been on top of JD Power for multiple years. KillJoy - Honestly, what do you need/want the car for? Long trips? Comfortable cruiser? Need a lot of trunk space? Is rear seat space important? I drive a lot of cars and when it came time for us to get something I was stuck between a LaCrosse and a decked out Equinox. We got a better deal on the Equinox, so that's what I ended up with, and we're very happy. Although, I was making a conscious effort to buy something American, every Nissan dealer I've ever been to has been full of giant assholes, I refuse to buy something Korean, I would chop my balls off before buying a Toyota, and not much in the Honda/Acura stable fit the bill. (I currently have a 2006 Nissan Altima, before that I helped my mom pick out her 2001 Altima, and my parents bought a 1991 Maxima new, which I drove for several years in the early 2000's. My father in law had a '06 Maxima, a '07 350Z, a 2007 Murano, and now has a 2010 Altima Coupe) - That should help my "Nissan Cred."

Lacrosse. They are really nice, quiet, and comfortable. Personally, I think the new Maxima is fugly.

I tell every car nut to go to Wooward at least once in their life. I think it's a great time and there are tons of nice cars out. Sadly, I probably won't go this year because I'll be going on vacation soon.

The US did what we thought was right in order to end it. FWIW, I think you will find the opposite is true. I know several American's that have visited Hiroshima and Nagasaki in recent years. The Japanese people have established memorials and museums on the site and they want it to be an reminder to the world of what happened there and use that in order to advocate world peace. I think you would be welcomed there as long as you didn't have a smile on your face or talk about how cool it is. They WANT people to visit this site and learn from it. Also, FWIW, I tolerate you opinion as you are entitled to it. Slowbalt, my view is slightly different than you in that I think the US is all about being tolerant of other cultures and ideals. When I run out of tolerance I resort to physical violence, which accomplishes nothing.

A mosque is not equal to a statue of the hijackers, so this analogy is bogus. We locked up all the Japanese people in this country because we thought they were all spy's, right? Should we have kept them all locked up? Would/could we do that today, and would we have justification? The wonderful thing about the USA is it's a place where the same freedoms are granted to every person, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, etc. You may not agree with other people's views and ideals, everyone has a right to their openly practice their views and ideals. The irony is christian extremists protest at military funerals, but it's that military that protects their right to demonstrate. Muslum does not equal terrorist. Mosque does not equal sleeper cell training grounds. To the example of the Muslum co-workers preaching their religion to you- I've had the same experience with countless numers of Christians who see it as their duty to God to 'save' people. There are all kinds of people out there, good and bad, of every demographic. Why does this mosque have to autmatially be evil? Maybe it will be an 'embassy' of sorts for the muslum religion to demonstrate, or show the world/US, that they are compassionate, caring, and peaceful.

Isn't that what the Catholic Crusades were all about? Isn't that what we did to native americans? Unless you want to start ignoring the constitutional rights granted to citizens of this country, the legal thing to do is the right thing to do.

You could argue that it restricts their freedom of assembly. They're allowed to buy property and use it for whatever they want, provided they comply with city ordinance. There is no law againt a religious establishment being located at specific areas in the city, and singling out the Muslim faith would be unconstitutional. Timothy McVeigh went to church as a child, so we should probably persecute Roman Catholic's and outlaw churches, as they must breed this type of hateful behavior. The guy who parked his rigged up Pathfinder in Times Square probably stopped to eat a hot dog while he was scoping the place out. We should outlaw those too.

I find it ironic that most of the people that are so upset over this are also the one's that were hardcore Ron Paul fanatics. Ron Paul is all about Constitutionalism, and all Obama said was that the freedoms granted by the Constitution to the people of the United States apply to ALL people within its borders, regardless of race, color, religion, etc. You guys should be loving him right now because he's acknowledging the Constitution as the supreme law of the land.

Last time I was at the dealer they said they HAD to rotate my tires (we won free service for a year). Today I was going to change front pads and rotors and did one side with no problem. The other side had one cross-threaded lug nut that came 98% of the way off, then the entire wheel stud started turning. How the hell do I get this thing off? Would an impact do it? I'm about to just take it to a tire shop and have them do it. BTW, I fucking hate the dealership.

Plus, making $30k tax free is a lot different than having your $30k paycheck taxed. Still, I'm very appreciative of what they do, and that still is not being overpaid. Don't they still get retirement benefits/pension's too? To the guy that started this thread, go read a book, newspaper, web site, whatever. Just do something that informs yourself about what goes on in the world, instead of working 16 hour days and beating off all night.

How long have you been in Rochester? If you like good beer, be sure to check out Rochester Mills. I like the Rochester area for the number of hike/bike trails and the downtown area. If you like that sort of thing, also check out the Paint Creek Trail or Stony Creek Metropark. Doug used to live up here too...until he moved down south.
