  1. Do they only have to be within 2 years if you're under a certain ET?
  2. Anyone know for sure what the regulations are? I think the belts can't be over 2 years old, but I'm still sketchy on that. Our GRM $2005 Challenge car needs to obibe by the rules of the tracks we're on so I need to know. Also, anyone know where I can get a cheap harness that meets those regs?
  3. They may be electronically assisted turbos, not sure on that one though. They are in final testing right now and should be ready to be sold in the summer of '05. Michelin developed a special tire for the car which is approved for speeds over 250mph and can also be used in everday driving. It has a twin clutch seven speed transmission, like the ME412 also has. I beleive that 1001 hp rating has been raised by 100 also.
  4. Everything I know about EGT is what I've been told by a friend with a DSM that does ECU tuning at BOSCH. Obviously you don't want to tune from just an EGT gauge since so many factors could influence it, not just a lean condition. Ideally you would want to monitor each cylinder, but that could be expensive, so tap into the manifold 2-3" from the block on your hottest cylinder. On an I-4 this will tend to be one of the middle 2, on a V6 it would be the middle one on either side, since they retain the heat of the surrounding cylinders. Your AFR's could look perfect, but if your ECU starts pulling timing your EGT's could go up and cause some damage. On the other hand you're EGT's could look perfect and your AFR could be screwed up. Make your own decesion. If you have a scantool that can tell you instantly if timing is being pulled then you may be fine without it. It's up to you, but I will be monitoring both on my car.
  5. I have plenty of people look at me like I'm a ricer because my car came with a big wing. But I bought the car for me, not anyone else so I don't give a shit. Plus the fact that it can out handle almost anything on the road below $30k...with possible exception to the Cobalt SS, but I'll be modded by the time that hits the road.
  6. So whatddya' got Hoblick? Is it your ZX7R? If it is I hope you have either: a) swapped to the big bore 998cc ZX9 b) turboed the ZX7 So ya know what everyone else has...what are you going to be racing with?
  7. Will they fit an first gen? If so, I will probably want them.
  8. edit: people already said what I had to say.
  9. +1...Champagne, check...Red Bull, check...Jager, check...beer, check.
  10. First CR meet I came to was a dyno day at Napa on the West side and Rigby had the CRX on the dyno. That thing was quick. The single wiper is pretty homo though... tongue.gif
  11. Well stock they came with the platinum, so I guess they weren't too concerned. I am most likely going with the copper. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try some of those places. As I said, the Advance Auto on Bethel told me "We can't get that aftermarket stuff" after he looked it up in the computer. I'll probably hit up Napa.
  12. The NSX you have pictured is the current one that's been for sale since 1991 with a few minor revisions. The Next Gen NSX was rumored to be the concept they showed at Detroit last year, the HSC. ( http://www.thrillinghill.com/gallery/GT4-Cars/IMGP1795edit ) Haven't heard that it was cancelled though.
  13. The Advance on Bethel said it showed up in their computer but they can't order it for me. ...Maybe I'll go with the BKR7E's, but my stock plugs are PZFR6F's, so I wanted the same plug, one heat range colder.
  14. They had a full race version at the SEMA show as a driving demo. The car has done more then initial tests. It's going through an entire development cycle. For the last year they've been putting it through its paces and have actually reached the quoted number above of 210mph. You don't do that without a lot of development already invested in the car. Compare that to the Cadillac Cien concept, that moved under its own power, but never over ~45mph. Also, having more then one running prototype out on the test tracks is a big indicator.
  15. They've put a lot of development into it and have several running test cars. No one puts that much effort into a show car.
  16. Time to change my plugs and I can't find anyone that carries what I want. I'm looking for NGK ZFR7F or PZFR7F (one's copper, one's platinum). I tried Advance and they said they can't get them. Anyone? I'd settle for the Denso IK22 also. (I'm 90% positive that's the Denso equivalent)
  17. Looks like Chrysler revived some 10 year old concepts (copperhead, Sindewinder) ME412 is pimp. 0-60 in under 3 seconds and so far they've topped 210mph in 5th gear. They haven't tried 6th or 7th gears yet.
  18. Don't get a Kia. My roommate has one and he's had NUMEROUS problems with it. It's a POS. Don't get a newer body style 4 cylinder Altima. My mom had one and we had more problems with that car then anything we've owned in a long time. There were many mornings that the car would not just start, and it was brand new. The dealer claimed it was fouled plugs. I believe it has something to do with the ECU dumping a large amount of fuel at startup. So if you took a short trip where the engine never got warm, the next time you'd go to start it, it wouldn't. (Like moving it out of the garage, then trying to move it back in later.) Can't say for sure though as I don't know too much about the issue, but the plugs would stink of gasoline and were soaked. They claimed that holding the gas pedal to the floor would trigger the ECU to stop injecting fuel and it would eventually fire up. The car just fell out of warrenty, so we traded it in on a new Acura TSX.
  19. Any money made from parts sold off the car can be added to your budget, up to a point. I think we can only match the amount we spend on the car itself or $1000, whichever's lower. So we paid $500 for the car, we can add up to $500 to our budget.
  20. hey Korey, You never replied to my PM. I want the laptop and I'll be in Columbus from now until Jan 2nd, so just PM me a place and time to meet. I live around Bethel Rd so anything around there is easy for me to get to anytime.
  21. We probably have 2.5-3 inches in Wooster already. I'll be heading down 71 around 5:30 so I hope they're keeping it clear. p.s. Blizzaks OWN!!!!1!1!!!!1
  22. HAHA, I've come out twice in the last month or so (once to Geero's and once to Cici's) and there was no one out. I'll be home for a week and a half so I'll try to make it out again soon. I may be in the garage over that entire week and ahalf though. smile.gif
  23. build a stroker with a big 16G and supporting mods (Front mount, GM MAF, Injectors, etc)
  24. My Blizzaks own you. Here in Wooster we're slated to get 8-16 inches. I think I'll be coming home early. p.s. Anthony, we're going to need to see pics of this MR2 soon. (or did i miss that thread)
