  1. Serious? Have you ever driven one? The difference is night and day when compared to the 6.1. It's a beast, and the exhaust note is just nasty.
  2. I will echo this and I have driven both for lots of test miles. The Journey got better in 2011+ but the Nitro stayed the same. Actually, the 2011+ Models withe the 3.6L are pretty nice.
  3. Fixed that for ya. The KB R/T has an awesome torque curve (if it counts as a curve).
  4. Holy S#!T that's a lot of torque! That's gotta be a fun ride. P.S. Have you hit some sort of airflow limit on those heads? It's interesting that HP flat lines like that.
  5. There's a resort on the Big Island, but it's more family oriented and has no beach. Hilton has the Waldorf but I don't think it's in the desired location either. My friends just got back from their second trip to Bora Bora and I can't imagine going anywhere else with points. I just have to convince the wife that we have to leave the baby at home and go back next year.
  6. I have the Chase PC card too, and I can attest that the hotels in French Polynesia are AMAZING! However, Hilton has a nicer hotel in Moorea, but IC is better in Bora Bora, Hawaii looks...meh. The bottom line is, find the places you want to go and find the best scheme for getting there for free. In some cases that would make the AmEx HHonors card the better choice, in others it could the the Chase PC. I see no point in a amassing a bunch of points to stay at a (max) $200/night hotel for free. In those cases I would probably focus on airline miles.
  7. Lol. Romeny's starting to make George W look like a Rhodes scholar.
  8. If you were willing to move to Michigan I probably have a position that meets all of your criteria. :-)
  9. I used CareerBuilder, but ultimately knew the companies I was targeting and started watching their web sites. I'm LinkedIn to a few recruiters and a lot or people I used to work with, and I'm sure that could pay off in the future, same goes for some people I know on Facebook. I have a few friends that if I knew they were looking I would try my hardest to bring in to my place.
  10. http://campaignstops.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/09/edsall-the-ryan-sinkhole/?smid=tw-share I liked this one too.
  11. Looks like the line in front of the Apple store when the iPhone 5 was released. P.S. holy fucking huge picture.
  12. Awful interior, very tight on space, I hated the seating position and the dash design (my shin hits the dash when I put my foot on the gas pedal), the 20" wheels ride really poorly, poor gas mileage, and poor NVH. You're lucky if it doesn't roll over while parked in your driveway. lol
  13. The newborn belly buttons creep me out too. I like the first one better, plus it reminds me of one of my son's newborn pics. My wife is getting a little obsessed with owl's lately too.
  14. That was stated a few days ago by US officials.
  15. I was in 7th grade and remember doing the same thing. In elementary school I was in the school library and they turned on the TV to show us coverage of the standoff in Waco, TX. When the building caught on fire the TV was shut off. In high school I remember going to McDonald's for lunch and looking up at a news broadcast after sitting down. It was live coverage of Columbine. When 9/11 happened I was a sophmore in college and was woken up by a roommate who turned on the Today show in our room. I remember seeing the towers on fire and the endless replay's of the crash. I was supposed to be getting up for class, but stayed at home and was glued to the TV. It was absolutely surreal and scary. Some arabic student got up in one of the classes and wrote something on the whiteboard. A professor that could read the language was called in to read it, to which he said, "Uhh, don't worry about it, it's nothing," then erased it and walked out. By noon school was cancelled. I had to go to the supermarket later and the streets were empty, gas prices has shot up and everything seemed silent.
  16. MultiAir is only variable within the area under the curve of the cam profile. It is not infinitely variable, it cannot increase lift beyond what the cam profile provides, and it cannot open or close the valve outside of the camshaft's duration. It also cannot open the valve using a steeper profile than the cam provides. It can only bleed off pressure built by the cam in order to control the valve. It's also only on one side right now. This is as I understand it. The system I posted is infinitely variable.
  17. No video of the actual engine itself. It's not a new idea, by any means. But it's been an idea that's remained unrealized in production due to the available technology. The closest thing to this is Fiat MultiAir, but that still has a cam. My understanding is this is about as production ready as it gets.
  18. You have a perfect taste in cars, all the way down to the color. I would have ordered it the same exact way. Enjoy it. The new Cobra's are downright nasty!
  19. My buddy's been workingon this for the last few years and just sent me this video they posted on YouTube. It's a pretty long video, but some of the engine nerds on here may like it. At the end they start making the engine play different songs. I told him to make me one that played the OSU fight song, lol.

Nice car. Welcome. I love the current TT body style. Is the TTS a 2.0L?

    Detroit

Yeah, I think you can still smoke in casino's, but the bars/restaurants are smoke free. There are things to do in Detroit, but they're not all in the same area and I'm not too familiar with all of them. Popular places to eat are Slow's BBQ, Mexican Town, El Barzon (Mexican-Italian), Greektown (Pegasus and one other that I forget the name of are the most popular), and probably more I'm forgetting. For bars, there are some places in the city, but a lot of the people in the area go to places like Royal Oak, Ferndale, Novi, and Rochester. You could always just head to Woodward and ~12-13 Mile Rd's if the weather is nice. People are always gathering around there at night.

    Detroit

You won't get arrested. There aren't enough cops around to deal with everything down there. If you are staying downtown, stick to the area around Comerica Park (IF there's a baseball game), or Greektown. I would probably aviod walking around anywhere else after dark. You could take a people mover from the RenCen to a few places, but you'll be riding that at your own risk. It's probably fine to ride, but I haven't been around there in a while.
  23. Quit smoking crack. That's not a before and after graph, that's HP and torque.
  24. Woodward Ave, north of Detroit. It starts at 9 Mile Rd and goes to Orchard Lake Rd (~21 Mile). Ford is usually set up around 9 Mile, GM around 12 or 13 Mile, and I forget where Chrysler is (somewhere around 10 mile?). The helicopter video is looks like just the intersetion of 13 Mile and Woodward. http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/?page_id=59
