  1. I have a Jegs built th350 in it now.m with a non reverse manual Vb. 1st and 2 are good, third is ridiculous. 3000 rpm stall I think. Only 3.73 rear gear now though. I didn't think it could handle that much power--- awesome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I mispoke- the oil in vacuum line trick is for exhaust leaks- pm'd Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Mix between cheapest and most simple! I am considering starting over from scratch with our spare gremlin with the parts I have acquired for the current gen 1 sbc swapped version I have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yes a drag racing car- can you put a manual valve body in those? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hey all- I am looking to put a gt45 turbocharged LS 5.3 in a 2700 lv amc gremlin. I need it to reliably hold about 650 rwhp. Will a th350 handle this? If not what type of th400 do I need? They are all over craigslist these days. Thanks! Andrew Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Pour a bit of motor oil in the intake vacuum lines- seriously - smells horribly and prob not good for the trees but it works Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. thanks for the further replies! I think I am going to stick with the CTS-V plan and outback I have for winter duty or maybe a slightly newer outback.
  8. Hey all- With three young kids, a full time job and other commitments I don't have the time I used to. I bought this car as a father son for my father and I and it has been going nowhere fast. I haven't really dug into tearing it apart as we hardly have time to make it to the track but once or twice a year lately and don't want to risk the down time but it doesn't look like things are going to be changing anytime soon and both of us aren't getting any younger. We spent about 3 years casually trying to chase down a carb dead spot which ended up being too much carb after trying ignition timing/shooter/accelerator pump/pump cams/2 double pumpers/new camshaft/etc Ok here is what I have. 2700 lb AMC Gremlin, 31 spline ford 8.8 with 9" axles, th350 with manual valve body Gen 1 non vortec or roller lifter SBC 355 with dished pistons milled Iron double hump heads (around 9-9.5:1 we think) Edelbrock air gap rpm intake manifold (dual plane) CSU Blow through 750 carb CSU carb hat Y2004K GT45 EMUSA 55mm Wastegate 1G DSM Blowoff Valve LT1 Exhaust Manifolds\ Canton Fuel Pump Blockoff w/ AN fitting for oil return Bosch 044 Pump fuel pump Billet Drain and Feed Fittings and stainless line to oil pressure sending unit port for feed 3 Bar GM MAP Sensor MSD 6AL water injection kit I plan on a front mount using 1.75 tubing from columbia mandrel bends that I plan to stretch the joints so they slip over each other for double thickness with an impact gun pipe stretching kit I bought and TIG weld on the hotside coming off the cast manifolds flipped with 3 bolt ball flange spring connectors (if I can find them). I have a split T4 flange I plan to heat and expand/form 1.75 pipe to each side and then run each side of the engine to the closest split port ( the long side will have the flex pipe)- not sure which side the wastegate will be in. I will weld some sort of supporting bracket to the frame and then to this non merged dual inlet flange somehow. Hopefully with some sort of rubber mounting. I do not have room for a decent air to air intercooler with the radiator/tranny cooler and electric fans so plan on a water/methanol injection setup right at the turbo inlet. without an air filter or maybe some extended cold air ducting somewhere with a big filter on the end but the water injection right at the inlet. plan to come right off the turbo outlet with some aluminum pipe to the carb hat or mild steel if the welding goes like hell. Iron heads may be swapped for decent aluminums once we see how it does. I have a 5 volt converter setup I plan to use for the MAP and ultimately run it into my innovate setup and some sort of boost retard (maybe delco 5 pin ignition module with retard- or MSD 6530) but plan on pulling a ton of static timing out of it until I figure that out. I did buy one of those MSD adjustable rotors. Hope to set the wastegate at the lowest boost possible to get it going if that is even possible with such a "big" turbo. The converter may be a problem I do not know. Goal is 10.9X-10.00 in the 1/4. It currently runs 13.20 but we think without the dead spot we can get in the high 12s I really would like to make as many passes as possible before ultimate melt down of this non-forged cheap 70s truck dished piston short block. I bet it is 2 bolt mains. My dad wants to ditch the whole plan and just throw a LS crate in there but that is a lot of figuring regarding the motormounts and fuel injection- it may be easier and he is getting older (76 this september) so I wont lie, I am tempted. Any advice? Thanks, Andrew Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I back in if I am parking in a rough neighborhood in case I have to make a run for it haha
  10. Thanks for the great replies! What is hpfp? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I had a used car lot for a while... honestly the deals weren't really that good in my opinion. What some of the experts were paying on some of these cars was amazing. The volume was incredible though. If you wanted to fill a lot with decent to mediocre deals and can get the markup through lazy consumers it works! There is no faking the dmv either... you have to meet their requirements and they check!
  12. anyone have pictures of this j-pipe fix? This is one of the main reasons I sold my old fox body and REFUSE to touch the factory exhaust on any performance car anymore!! I put the quietest mufflers I could on that old mustang (tried 3 types) and it was still brain shaking.
  13. hey all- I know some of you have these cars. I guess they are E60s? What are you experiences as far as turbo rattle, injector failure, some sort of booster, water pump and serpentine belt failure all under 60K miles? I am very anti-used-german car but the "value" on these cars currently makes it very hard to turn my back on them.
  14. nice work!!! That is a lot of car for that price... How is the transmission does it shift quickly in manual mode? I was sitting here considering ctsv sedans or wagons to replace my C5Z I will be selling and this thread has me raising an eyebrow. Nice wheel choice as well...

  16. Haha- it is never that organized but that day and maybe a few days afterwards as that is the picture I took for selling our house/showings... it was a war zone most other days ;-) My pm box was full- anyone interested in these? craigslist had a lot of interest but several no shows.
  17. These are in great condition and of solid wood construction. We have moved and the boys have decided they prefer to be on the same level. Mattresses and bedding are not included but everything else is. They have been disassembled but the parts are larger than a standard car. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160506/9632b1a4196c7ca67065b3baa79506fd.jpg 150.00 OBO THANKS! 21. Oh good to know! I thought the 2.8 was the turbo engine and thought the steering wheel had an s on it- my bad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. From what I read the dash cluster pixels, fragile k03 turbos, and suspension issues are the major players- how are the dash and turbos? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
