  1. I put a VALET 712T made by DEI on my foxbody. I loved it- OEM quality remote and it worked flawlessly for the 4 years I had the car. It had a flashing LED as a theft deterrent. I put bulldog stuff on my wife's car years ago and it was fine as well but the quality was not as good as DEI- the remotes were extremely cheap
  2. Rob, are you just trying to give me a hard time? what do you call this? http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/dresser.jpg
  3. its in my other post- I guess I didn't have room for those pictures in that post.

  6. I was going to say JEGS and Summit would be bending over right now for the legal fees to stop this.
  7. I am thinking if you are 5'6" 185 lbs then your physique may be your most obvious attribute and girls with depth may be thinking that if you are that focused on your workouts there may not be anything else behind it and the other girls you keep running into see what they want and do not care about anything else. I am 5'6" as well and when I was in college I got up to 145 lbs with about 5-7% bodyfat by the electronic tester at the gym. I could max 215 lbs and was pretty jacked for my size, and I was starting to look a little freakish- I had some psychological issues I was working out then and about all I did was workout and eat for about 4 months - that was much smaller than you are and that took a lot of effort- try to engage yourself in other events/hobbies to meet girls other than arenas that feature shallow interactions like bars/gyms/parties... maybe there are some single chicks in this thread you should meet or lurking somewhere on columbus racing right there you have a shared interest. My brother in law was a professional baseball player and had all sorts of superficial chicks throwing themselves at him when he met my sister and she isn't interested in sports in the least- she actually despises most of them. But they were compatible on a deeper level and it worked- they have been married almost 4 years now and have their first kid on the way. They met through family members on each side that knew each other. I can't workout that consistently or eat that much anymore now that I am out of college- at least I haven't been able to so far... I weigh about 120 lbs now and could probably max 150 but I haven't worked out in about a year. Out of curiosity how often do you work out and what do you eat to gain that much mass? Any idea what your normal weight is? FWIW I was never really interested in that arena, and I married my wife out of college at 22. We have been married 7 years with our first on the way. BTW she is 5'11" and smoking hot IMHO to the fellow that tried to cut on the short guys- EDIT: I just realized you are 20. While that is the same age I was when I met my wife most people at that age only want hot easy chicks so I am guessing you are not like most.
  8. And how is Toyota focused? if you look carefully now they already have 11 models and are venturing into the truck arena... true diversification is good but not without focus and the effects of this do not rear their ugly head until the economy is as sour as it is... I would not be surprised if the big three were not around anymore, when the economy recovers if toyota doesnt cut back on quality to increase profit margins more and more until they found themselves in the same place the big three is... it is a cycle- people are people and people run businesses. What toyota knows how to do well is build affordable (not really anymore but they have the brand power to demand higher prices currently) and reliable cars. And I don't know how the toyota supra is comparable to cars of today- unmodified it is a whopping piece of @%#@ compared to a c5 or c6 corvette. I would take a fox body mustang or c4 corvette any day over a early 90s piece of japanese manufacturing. But this is besides my point I mentioned those cars to demostrate GM's engineering prowess- they can build cars that can outrun cars in every direction that cost 2-4x lets not forget that the z06 gets about the same gas mileage as your honda accord or toyota camry. I haven't seen toyota do that yet. True the big three needs to restructure their entry level and moderate income cars- this demographic is no longer loyal to america for the very reason that they live there anymore as evidenced by this thread and the big three took advantage of that and made lots of profit and hired lots of people on that phenomenon alone. They must now lose the concept of planned obsolescence win back these buyers by using their engineering prowess to build superior entry and mid level cars to the japanese that will last equally long. The big three has been producing cars since the 1950s and have employees that are taking pensions/benefits/high salaries if they are still working from 50 years of commitment. The japanese cars did not get serious until the late 70s if not early 80s that is 20 years less drag. They need to disolve their unions to reduce drag without bankruptcy and receive LOANS to give them the cash to subsist on the low profit margins they must make with to restructure and reposition themselves as the global leaders in the automotive industry. If you look at my profile I have a honda car and we love it- I have nothing against the japanese manufacturers they had a different business strategy that is proving to be more profitable currently (well before everything hit the fan) after decades of it not being so- I don't see any manufacturer making crazy profits right now. I am just making sure the american manufacturers are not kicked while they are down without giving my two cents
  9. #1 Do japanese companies have unions? #2 Do japanese companies pay income taxes in the US? #3 Are most employees at japanese companies full time with benefits? #4 Let's not forget it was an American company that invented a car for the people and the assembly line. #5 Z06/ZR1 & Ford GT... Japanese has what a 1994 toyota and an embarrasing GTR oh wait don't forget the monster NSX. #6 How many employees current and retired on the pension plan do GM/Ford/Chrysler command compared to Japanese companies? Its a lot easier to not cut 0 out of 10 than 5 out of 5000 Don't count the americans out. They didn't have to produce cars that didn't break because they didn't have to until now. It was called planned obsolescence and it made them lots of money. How many years of profitability did it afford them... 20? 30? If you want to talk social programs thats fine but if you want to talk business strategy thats a different story. Ferrari underestimated Ford and they got the GT40. Thanks.
  10. sounds good- if I find it I will let you know and if you do please keep me posted!
  11. That is an awesome video- I don't know much about handling but if someone wanted to couldn't they do similar results with maybe larger radiuses as you can't spin all four tires at will with another well-balanced car like a z06? I have seen people do some controlled slides/ donuts in numerous circles like that- not sure how they do it but I have seen some powerful rwd cars do it. If AWD is necessary why not a dirt cheap 1G DSM or if you wanted to spend some bucks but probably half as much as that terrible sounding race car a 95-97 911 Turbo. Doesn't audi have anything with awd that is able to be driven like that? thoughts? educate me...
  12. ebay.com they are a dime a dozen.. I think some bmw's had 24s as well.
  13. impalas have iron heads instead of aluminum.
  14. I dont know guy--- I too love this field and have always been afraid to pursue as everyone has always deterred me as well because of the overseas competition but for the very same reason noone else is going to the field either right now and the people that are currently doing it are just getting older. I think there will be a big demand for young skilled workers in the next 5-10 years. The union effect will hit china and india sooner or later just as it hit the US and they wont be nearly as competitive- people are people- hell they are already getting fat from mcdonalds exposure. Welder is another field I love and would enjoy as a career in combination with machinist so I guess I would be a fabricator/protoyper if I could do anything in the world and didn't care about money. They say if you love it enough the money will come. Chasing money and not listening to myself is what won me a top 20 bachelors degree and masters degree in a field I didn't even like so it was a colossal waste of time and guess what money. I am currently in a holding pattern trying to pick a path- we put my wife through law school and I have a family business so that helps but do I just bite my lip and go to med school, become a science teacher, keep trying start-up business ventures, or commit to the world of metal. You are not alone in your quest and you are very young- dont worry
  15. that there is some funny stuff.... say that to the tens if not hundreds of thousands of people that the big three employs and see what happens- republican or democrat our country cannot handle the decline of these companies. If you think detroit is a dangerous city now, just wait and don't forget michigan is only a 3 hour drive away. Let's all get in line and hand out 3% mortgages to the irresponsible people that got in over their head (which most will probably still default on) but let our country's biggest employers burn alive while they roast marshmallows and wonder why a year or two from now half their family has been murdered and robbed by fellow marshmallow roasters that don't understand why they can't find a job and say they were wronged by the MAN. Oh yeah lets not forget they are asking for a LOAN not a GIFT like the rest of america. This is not the country I grew up in-
  16. Don't forget about Ford at 1.95/share Imagine a world without GM OR Ford and chrysler is already a foregone conclusion
  17. cool I will check it out this week... dumb question but do you sell self defense 9mm ammo there? I have been using winchester target rounds in the past but wanted to try out some new stuff with the economy as it is and the increased number of break-ins.
  18. I am assuming this is a 5.0 explorer? The 4.0 SOHC V6 motor only made 5 hp less in those years. Can the drivetrain handle that much power? I would love to see it popped into 4WD high and launched.
  19. damn, this is an opportunity- if my LS6 didn't have such low miles I would be very tempted to slap this baby in mine with the stock cam and wet sump modifications... Good luck AJ!
  20. Thanks for all of the advice- I am going to look into the mossberg 500 and remington 870... If I am home I have a chambered glock 19 with high cap mag, laser and a tactical flashlight for the other hand. I pity the fool... BTW 360 what age did you start teaching them about guns? Our first is still in the oven. cinergi thanks for the offer- where do you work? I usually go to the powder room in powell for target practice. The gun I used pheasant hunting last year was a savage double barrel and I liked having that second shot ready as I am not that good of a shot- I downed two birds on the second barrel.
  21. Hey all- I know most of you know a lot more about guns than I do... What gauge/brand would you recommend for the following with these priorities in mind. #1 self defense for the wife (I am not comfortable she would be able to use our handgun confidently) #2 Annual pheasant hunt with the in-laws (last year I borrowed the passed grandfather's gun) #3 Potential slug use for hunting if anyone were ever to invite me or I got in the mood. BTW what do you guys do about keeping the kid(s) away from them but stil making them quickly accesible? Biometrics? Thanks! Andrew
  22. +1 on what he said- In addition cars equipped with Cobra engines have an X3Z PCM, 24 lb injectors, a 65mm TB and 65 or 70mm MAF if I remember correctly. a 95-97 explorer motor is basically a cobra motor.
  23. The market will not support that price... ask me how I know ;-) (AND IMHO my 90 anniversary coupe was nicer... MUCH faster without a doubt and it took 8 months to give it away) But oh is my new car worth the sacrifice. Especially not for a stock k-member, non-coilover or at least premium shock/spring setup, 28 spline solid axle rear, non-power adder car without AFRs or trickflows and an alphabet cam, loaded with bbk and C&L! AND a ghetto suspension. No mention of the VIN to see if it is a true E code car either. I will say it has nice lower control arms, tune by Lasota, a nice intake manifold, and a solid 5 lug brake swap but that is about all I will give it and other than the tune and control arms all of that can be had very cheaply used. ^^^^about sums it up. Unless you are buying a bone stock original E-code car with less than 30K miles in that price range like the ones at KAR off of Cleveland Avenue, I say go with a mint 4 cylinder coupe and swap everything over- if you do it right you do about everything anyhow and you are going to lose your a$$ on resale with or without the proper VIN once you modify it.
