  1. If you drive like a pussy. It's the torque, not the power that breaks those pieces of shit at that power level. How many 5L cars have you had? Just curious.
  2. So, a few roller bearings and a slightly higher torque rating make this a worthy transmission? Not a chance. Only T-5 worth a shit anymore is the one that gets sent back after G-Force does work on it. T-5's are junk. If you bang gears with a stock T-5 it will break. Between 5 or 6 of us, my friends and I, we probably have gone through atleast 10 T-5's. I'm only counting the broken gears and not the shift forks or synchros either. Mine broke on a shift from 2nd to 3rd when I only brought it up to 3800 in 2nd and let off, put it in 3rd and then let out the clutch. 10-12 teeth completely gone on third gear. Friend destroyed his in his 5.0 when it only had a gear and exhaust. They suck. Sorry for the long response, but the T-5 is junk. G-Force or nothing when it comes to T-5's. If someone hasn't broken one and "it's been fine for years", it's because they don't shift hard.
  3. Just wanted to quote this for the irony of a spelling error. I think he meant to put "stop whining" instead of winning.
  4. That would be cool to see. Can't say that I have seen a Saturn run 12's other than your car and to run 11's would be an accomplishment for sure.
  5. Having done both, roll racing when I was younger and had a slower car, it's easy to see which one is more difficult. Drag racing has too many factors rolled into it to be considered easier. Going out on weekends and staying out running around on the freeway was a hell of a lot of fun and we did a lot of things that I wouldn't consider now. I won more races than I can count due to better shifting. It still takes skill to hit gears, but traction wasn't an issue then. If I took my car out now on a cooler night it would be interesting to try and get traction at certain speeds, so that plays into it. It all depends on how well you know your car and how well you can get it to "work". I'd rather drag race now, because I don't need all of the headaches associated with the possible consequences of running one off on whatever road it happens to be. The thing that has always had me scratching my head is why everyone went from the "quiet" parts of the freeway to one of the busier parts of it. We usually didn't see a car for miles when we would go out. The areas that were used later were much busier. Of course that was going to get shut down. Still shaking my head on that one.
  6. Hmm....must have been a bad night. I let my car sit for awhile between runs and usually get atleast 6 in. If I didn't let it sit I could probably get 15 passes in.
  7. When I worked for my friends dad's landscaping company during the summer's that I was in college, we cut there. It was a haven then. Nothing like going around the back of a building with a trimmer and seeing someone who thought that they were in a "private" area sunbathing. Never quite naked, but damn near. Nice to see that they still have kept the quality up.
  8. They are very good about getting things out quickly and are very reasonably priced.
  9. Get better clutches. Carbon fiber lined clutch packs are around $115 at Jeg's. http://www.jegs.com/i/Ford+Racing/397/M-4700-C/10002/-1
  10. So, you are telling me that if you get your new 5.0 towed to the dealer on slicks they won't warranty your twisted driveshaft? That's bullshit!!!
  11. So, a bunch of slow cars and some turbo 6's.......
  12. I'm pretty sure that they come with better rods and forged pistons. Should be a forged crank too. Not sure what else you need, other than better of the above mentioned pieces.
  13. Nothing like yanking them two feet on the street!!
  14. A couple of years ago I saw one with the 03/04 Cobra drivetrain. There was also one with a small block chevy in it. That was my least favorite of the bunch
  15. 10.3x. Not sure on the exact number, but 10.3x's is getting it done.
  16. Good luck getting in to run on night of fire. Too busy for my taste.

Glad I was busy today. Had an offer to go for free, but had to take care of some other things. Damn rain.

All I know is that when you can bang the gears with sandals on, you qualify as a decent stick car driver....... I haven't tried in awhile, but it wasn't an issue in the past Of course, that was way back when I was a youngster.

If you can't powershift in flip-flops, buy an auto
  20. I just prefer to shift myself. I've been in a couple of low to mid 9 second auto cars and they were fast, but not what I want.
  21. Just needs tire and some more boost. Keep your auto Stick cars are just more fun. I don't care if it would go 9.50s with an auto.
  22. Rumor has it that the unicorn made a pass..........hot lapped. Just rumors at this point.
