  1. Wow haven't seen a printer of that design in operation for a very long time.
  2. if your talking about SR 555 you gotta watch that road. Especially after winter storms end for the season its gonna be slick from cinders, gravel, big potholes and such. Might be a place to save until late spring if you like riding hard. Do you guys ride it all the way to the Ohio river? I take that route lots of times when I'm heading down that way. Lots of turns and the section just south of zanesville has some really nice jumps if your hillbilly enough.
  3. Very interesting. I didn't realize it was done in more places than South America and according to the records left on temple walls down there they did it to mimic a visitor to their land a long time ago. If I remember correctly it was the person (some believe alien) that inspired their civilization. Who knows, but its cool.
  4. Its possible that NBC's source was wrong. Amatures and Pros scan the skies 24/7 for asteroids. Its possible that some will slip by but as they get close they get much easier to spot and most get spotted at the distance of Jupiter. Its gravitational effect causes lots of asteroids to change their orbits and start either heading towards a collision with it or the sun eventually. On occasion our planet gets in the way which kinda sucks. Basically the way asteroids are located is photos are taken of the same area night after night and then overlaid to detect the movement of an object. If something is found to be moving they zero in on it, plot its course, and determine if its an already known object.
  5. Wife and I enjoyed the tour of the old fort, but we like that sort of thing.

    Ground Zero

I'm thinking that is just the effects of the area considered "ground zero." That typically means anything within that area is incinerated or if its a very strong building its rendered completely useless. I wonder if there's a site that can map out the total effect of a nuclear blast and maybe even a basic fall out range chart. That huge Russian nuclear bomb is still huge and that charts saying it would pretty much incinerate anything within 270. Thats about a 15mile area of nothing with a big crater in the middle and something like 900,000 people completely missing. Not even counting all the people without 60 miles which will likely get injured by the blast and/or burned to the point that they die shortly afterwards. Then thats still not even counting the people that die of radiation and the people who die from the fall out possibly months later.
  7. OMG they are getting grilled cheese? From the story it sounded like a cold cheese and bread sammich which would suck, but still good if your hungry. Still not something to waste tax dollars on though. I'd rather get to keep more of my paycheck:-)

    Ground Zero

I'm with you on that one. If the moons out my telescope stays indoors.
  9. The "FUCK TURKEY" part just reminded me of the grandma in "My big fat greek wedding" Who was sneaking around trying to kill the turks.
  10. Well I am the worst on here and I see nothing wrong with it. If you can't pay you starve should be something people understand like people have understood for thousands of years.
  11. My wifes sister has 4 kids in NC schools and they bring this crap home from every couple months. Seems to be a hot bed for PETA activity down there. Did anyone read that book? Its very disturbing how deranged PETA is.
  12. Wow a honda only part? Nice in that case I might put the bearing on and see what happens. Only takes about 30mins at my garage anyway. I just wanted to save the trouble of having to do it twice.
  13. Thats the question I'm asking. I don't have the car I put it back together with brakes to get her able to get to work and will fix it at a later time. She says its made the noise for a year so it wouldn't surprise me if the spindle were toast. Along that line where do I get a spindle? Doesn't look like advance sells them and I might not be looking hard enough on NAPA's site because I know they sell that stuff for Toyota's.
  14. I'm helping a girl from work fix her car. I did the brakes already and while I was at it I checked a noise she's having (found the drivers side rear bearing causing the noise.) The question is about the bearing and spindle. I'm gonna change the bearing, but found that the spindle has a pretty ruff area on it. The ruff part is on the dished out area up near the brake dust shield end. I'm not sure if the ruff part is something that is in contact with the bearings or not. Anyone know? I'm a toyota guy so no clue how these hondas work.
  15. My wife at 5/3rd gets around 1 guy per month that falls for the scam where they mail you a check to deposit then you wire them back X amount of money and you keep the rest. She isn't legally allowed to stop them, but she usually does suggest that they reconsider. Most ignore her and do it anyway.
  16. I think its the gay black guy from "Revenge of the Nerds" that is burned into so many of us older guys heads that makes it extra funny.
  17. I'm not thinking to many hot chicks are gonna notice that it is a stock mini.
  18. "A new ordinance unanimously approved Tuesday by the Norman City Council will require residents to prove, in a court of law, they did not litter, rather than having the city attempt to prove they did." I thought we were innocent until proven guilty:-)
  19. I agree with this. I've never liked coverage of bad news. To me its just gossip and a waste of time since in the time it takes to watch a news story many more people drop dead all over the earth. I'd rather spend my time hearing of good news and interesting things in this universe big and small.

    Happy Birthday

The Obama has come so you can take insurance off your list.
  21. In the defense of annoying agencies like the CIA and FBI... If the feds stopped handling some of the stuff they do who would do it? State agencies? I suppose the states jobs could be easier if every states boarders were closed to each other. Lots of problems with the states handling things on their own. In the end the states would end up creating coalitions or other agencies of the greater good to help with the broader problem of being on the same continent. I'd like government to butt out and be as small as possible too, but some things we're just going to have to tolerate to live on this planet. We're facing interesting problems now that transportation and communication are now possible at speeds that were totally unthinkable only 100 years earlier and those old speeds were basically the speed of life for the majority of human history.
  22. A 757 with low fuel and no cargo/passengers has a very nice thrust/weight ratio. Not to mention the engine dia is larger than a regional 40 passenger jet cabin dia.
  23. If you owe on the land you can roll its mortgage into your home mortgage when the house is completed. No problem and banks do it all the time. Wife and I got land and did just that a couple years ago.
