Well its the face thats the problem. I don't know the guy, don't follow movies or careers in hollywood, but the face to me ain't gonna work. I'm just a stubborn die hard trekkie, sorry:-)

I'm so dreading watching this. I'd love to think it will be a star trek movie, but then I keep picturing the pretty boy prick they have playing Kirk and I wanna poke my eyes out. Oh well I'll watch it when I can get it for free:-)

Just tell them 1000lbs and be done with it. They won't care of know the difference and nothing will ever come of it if its not right. The only time you should be worried is if maybe it was a commercial vehicle.

This is a cool idea and I'll help out in any way I can. I shoot with a 40D My subjects are typically events and portraits that I do professionally I do landscapes for fun though and would love to learn more about shooting cars I don't do a lot of that. Mostly I'd need more advanced lighting technique though and a workshop on it would be great. To the guy who asked about cheap lighting I picked up a nice little pair of umbrellas, flashes and remote stuff from midwest photo that I use for on location shoots. It works great and was less than $300. I've used the home depot approach too and it works great as well.

Anyone have experience with Radon? Pumps et al?
Tractor replied to Science Abuse's topic in Dumpster
Actually North Central Ohio is home to some of the highest levels of Radon in the country. I only know this from doing a programming project for a Radon testing company that was starting up and needed software to operate very old detectors. Dang thing was written in PASCAL just to date it:-) -
First rule of the l33t internet photog wanna be is get an EXIF viewer for the web browser. Just knowing the settings used by a great photog automatically makes you pro:-) They are pretty nice pics BTW. Especially since your off camera light was the sun, no diffusers (aka clouds/shade), no nasty overplayed ricer angles. Nice job. Hehe

I noticed a lot of complaints of printing problems out on the net associated with adobe 9. It seems it can cause all sorts of problems. In most cases it stops printing completely except for test pages. As far as I can tell removing and reinstalling version 8 has fixed everyone. Its been a few weeks since I worked on that problem so I don't know if its been resolved or not and I'm running version 9 without problems to my old HP photosmart.

Oh on the client page with the 17 shade calibration scale the last line " viewing angle to clearly see the following 17 desperate and clearly defined sections. " I'm thinking you mean "seperate" sorry I don't usually bitch about spelling, but you ask for critique. -
Nice. I built a generator/welder out of one for my offroad truck a few years ago. I just went down to U Wrench It and bought one for about nothing.

5/15 -5/17 -- Hocking Hills, SR 555, SE Ohio, etc -- Camping
Tractor replied to Casper's topic in Daily Ride
I just went down 555 a few weeks ago. The roads washed off nice now, but it does get some rough pavement near Deavertown. Still not bad, but you'd just have to watch for bumps. Also logging equipment crosses the roads in a few places and makes it muddy in 100 ft or so sections on the way into Chesterhill. -
330k on my 94 corolla and 200k on my 97 camry and both run good though all the rubber suspension parts are dead on the corolla so it rattles like a can:-) /thread

I'm looking for something better than just an answering machine for my little business. Its just a single line which I never use for anything anyway. I'd normally just search google, but I've tried a few searches and can't seem to come up with the right term for the system. Free system would be great, but I can deal with cheap:-) Basically I just need it to sound more professional than an answering machine, maybe have menus, and call forwarding or some type of alert to my cell would be kinda cool. Any ideas?

I wonder if its just a fake for the show. It would be cool to know if you'd really talk like that from having your boys removed. Oh and BTW its funny as hell.
-
I'll bet one of you beats off to it.

Looks like a good movie, but as a long time star trek fan and a stubborn old fart it doesn't look like a good star trek movie. I'm gonna watch it though, but not likely going to go to the movies to do so. The last time I went to a movie it was the last star trek:-)

Your right lots of places do this already though I've not looked into the prices since I do my own editing. Not saying that as a means of discouragement, actually just the opposite. IMO if there is a market then the key is to grab market share. This is much easier than trying to create a market where none exists. I guess if something took literally a few minutes like the example you gave which would be just cleaning up some distracting areas, blemishes, white balance, and maybe some contrast adjustment then I'd think you can make very nice pictures for people. Maybe half a sitting fee?

hehe I really enjoy a good burger and fries, but wow that stuff was bad. Maybe it was a bad time and I'll probably give them another try some day, but I'm still recovering from the taste of the crappy, wet, floppy fries. It was like they didn't know you were supposed to "fry" them.

The wife and I went there and thought it was the worst food in the city. I could do better at wendys. Especially once you factor price vs quality I think I'd rather eat day old burger king.

How I got scammed out of $2500 -- options??
Tractor replied to Slimpsy1647545505's topic in Dumpster
Actually in home contracts it is their responsibility to point out all parts of every page of the contract. If he were dealing with a legit Realtor or someone else involved in home purchases the contract would probably have required both of them to initial next to the "fine print" to show that they had read it. -
That pic is more than just a few layers I believe its one I've seen before on some astro forums and that its 3D. Anyone got any 3D glasses to confirm it?
-
I get at least one incompetent moron per day with a problem like that. I just get to smile and say it happens all the time (when I'm really wanting to make them feel as dumb as they are.)

It does sound like a planned scam so you never know, there could be a suit against them or other complaints that will help you out in some way. -
I'll say that your right that they won't shoot "typically" they are pirates trying to run a business. That business is ransoming ships/crews. If the pirates play nice and give back the ships/crews when money is handed over then the pirates are just an annoyance that will eventually be dealt with. If however the pirates were to murder a crew and send a ship to the bottom then the pirates would basically "break" their business plan and would then likely be hunted and the threat removed much faster. Now if a crew were armed or staffed with military guard and put up a good resistance the pirates would turn to weaker prey. Its possible that until they decide to go after a softer target a few crew members could get killed.
