  1. I think he's talking about the blurred street scene with the car lights streaking. It does look like your waiving the camera around during the shot. Evan
  2. Considering most of the really good shots on here are done by guys who either have jobs as photogs or have a lot of really nice gear ie, several off camera flashes sure the pics ain't good. For a guy trying out some shots not really knowing what his (very capable S3 IS) can do and shooting in a difficult lighting condition (sure he could pick better locations, but thats been mentioned as constructive.) I'd say a lot of guys on here are being pretty harsh. Evan
  3. I'm wondering the same thing. I wouldn't pay for it, but I might play it for a few laughs. Evan
  4. To be fair, as a speech giver goes it's probably average, but the points she hit on where great and her way of giving it was honest just like Bush though she didn't come off as a hick like he does, but I like hicks and librarians;-) I liked those nut kicks she gave Obama and Biden. Evan
  5. I just looked it up. Interesting...
  6. How did I know there would be. I love the internet. Those demos are pretty funny and it sucks to be us soon. Evan
  7. There are things I don't like about some bush policies. I'd prefer he take a very conservative stand on spending, pushing against the Dems, and not putting his foot down on the fact that he's in yr 8 of his presidency and to my knowledge he is still letting the Dems stall on the appointing of a lot of lower than supreme court judges (can't remember the title.) Oh and I basically don't like the fact that he's a politician, but what can you do. Evan
  8. I'm just saying take a look at now long dead presidents. We have no feelings one way or the other. We simply have facts as recorded those facts have been edited, forgotten, wrote about by countless authors and now we have what we call history. In the grand scheme any president in a time of trouble will be remembered for speeches given, photos taken, things like that. Some people obviously hated Lincoln and he died as a result, but history doesn't quiet get the emotion across like living at the time. 100yrs from now people will remember that on sept 11th 2001 a radical group blew up the world trade center. They'll see photos, videos, they won't feel much except probably feel bad for the people at that time going through that terrible act. Hell there will probably be movies out if they are still something people watch about great men and women doing heroic acts for people they don't know. I'm gonna go out on a limb and hope (hehe I threw in an Obama word) that Iraq is a stable country and a tourist destination by then as well. I'm not expecting it because the middle east is pretty crazy and fought over way to hard, but I'll have hope I guess. It would be nice to see some of the early human history around that region. Evan
  9. I'm pretty sure they say the same things on both sides about both candidates every 4 years. At least thats the way its been in my 30yr life. Oh well I'm one that still loves Bush and history will prove me right, but we'll all be old or in the ground by then so it doesn't really matter. Hehe I'm even browsing the net for a portrait of him to put on the wall in my office. Evan
  10. Thats a really tired or dead cat. Evan
  11. I think I saw that plate. I agree except I wouldn't pay for a custom plate anyway and still don't like obama. Evan
  12. Yeah not bad shots for giving it a try. extreme low light photography takes different settings and techniques than daytime and/or flash stuff. To get it really nice you'd almost have to take a shot of the car with off camera flashes and then take a shot with the background correctly exposed and merge them. Other than that you end up with a noisy pic using high ISO settings and getting the right scene with the right street lights around you. I guess you could run florescent lights off a power inverter and maybe use diffusers to get some highlights as a cheap method. Evan
  13. I get pissed when I think about people like my brother paying < 1000 all year in taxes and getting a tax return of > 4000 because of 2 kids and a pos wife that "WON'T" !!! work. Evan
  14. I wonder if there are any computer models? That would be a fun video. Evan
  15. Lol I just remembered hearing the Russians have started flying the bear over US territory again. Sad their still using those and we got F-22's and who knows whats in the oven. Evan
  16. I hope we're on the far side of our own galaxy when it happens. Can you imagine how cool that would look to see that galaxy basically filling about half our sky or so. I wonder what the gravitational effect would be. Our heads will probably explode:-) Evan
  17. That shot was taken with a camera lens. I only have a cheapy 75-300mm one. I wish I had one of those canon 400mm L lenses for that shot. The only part my telescope played in that image was using the mount to track it. Evan
  18. Hehe looks like your happy for about 99% of the US population then since the last few elections have been split nearly 50/50. Evan
  19. Here's another example of what the Canon 70-300mm lens can do. Thats 1 hour worth of frames stacked. The fullsize image is much less noisy and it would probably make a nice 8x10, but I'm gonna shoot it again probably next month when its higher in the sky. That galaxy is fucking huge and I can only fit about 1/3 of it in my telescope at a time so I can't use it for the shot. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f185/EWhytsell/M3108_30websize.jpg Evan

    $$$ / acre

That 100k was for sub divisions. I guess they wanted to weed out the low life right off the bat. Evan
  21. I'm pretty sure it can be done. Might not work for all colors of cars, but I've seen some really nice reflections from car panels from you guys before and I've got the gear and knowledge to shoot the dark sky stuff. Only real trouble I'd run in to might be needing a place thats so dark you can't see the car from the cameras position. Then if necessary you could use some very very weak lighting to give the car some highlights. Of course the more reflective the car the brighter the area can be. It would require a good bit of trial and error to get it just right, but would be fun. Evan

    $$$ / acre

Sunbury area was at 100,000 per quarter acre a year ago. I had to buy my place up near Marengo at 10K an acre at the same time. My parents a few years ago bought their 160 acres near Marietta for around 350 per acre. Location is the first factor, then what type or if there are any major problems with it would be next I'd guess. My parents got it a little cheaper because it had recently been logged of its larger trees. Nothing serious, but they didn't have to pay for the value of wood bigger than 8 inches. Evan
  23. Is your S5 IS grainy indoors, at night, with just room lights on? If not then I recommend that one for this again. Evan
