Its a great camera and has all the different modes for most family trip photography, auto, portrait, night portrait, several different semi auto lighting conditions (indoor, snow, etc..) Very easy to use and the manual mode would allow you to get some really nice shots in a more difficult environment such as a cave tour or some place that doesn't allow flash photography. I ended up upgrading from my S2 IS to a full Canon 40D DSLR because I'm getting way hooked on photography and I'll be able to do way better deep space shots with it once all the adapters come in the mail. Yeah thats the one. Also if your into it you can search CHDK on wikipedia and they have a site on there that will have all kinds of firmware hacks that can make your canon point and shoot into a very powerful tool for advanced scientific shots and other neat things. Evan

hmm can you prove that? I sleep in my car with it running nearly every work day, I've been approached by people all the time to see if I'm alive, and I've also been approached by police twice and they were only checking on me. Sucked too because they blew that damn horn and I nearly pooped the one time. Look around any parking lot between 1030 and 1330 and you'll see plenty of cars running with people sleeping or just hanging around. And to the guy that got a DUI for sleeping you his car. Is it really as simple as it sounds or are we missing some of the story? I'd fight that one to the bitter end because that would be serious BS. Evan

I'm biased, but I really like canon and that powershot will make you happy. I think they are up to the model S5 IS now and its a great camera and is a very entry level DSLR. Not a true DSLR, but you can attach lenses if you want and they have full manual capability. The canon in the link is very good also. I'm just familiar with the S1 thru 5 models. I'm sure Nikon makes great ones too, but my experience has been with canon for many years. Evan

A deer jumped between my truck and trailer. It was awesome though I did have to get the whole rig back into the correct lane. First time I hit one and I had no clue the force would be high enough to move 12,000lbs like that. The poor doggy I hit I didn't even feel:-) Evan

Biker ever throws change at my windshield then biker better run or my corolla might just get mad:-) It works both ways. I don't see to many bikers lately doing stupid stuff, but in the past couple of years I've seen many of them riding along in blind spots, tailgating, and lane splitting all day long. Gives me joy to see the dumb sobs laying in the grass off the side of an off ramp after seeing them drive like that. People in ford explorers too. Whats with the people in the ford explorers anyway:-) To sum it up, the 2 wheelers are faster and more agile then the guys in cars so they get the job of staying out of the way. Evan

+1 to sliver lake. Its a lot of stuff to do around the area for getaway type stuff. To get into the sand dunes state park with a 4x4 you'll need to register in advance. They are only letting a certain number of visitors in per day. Oh and its gotta be MI DOT legal (which rules out my offroader.) The beach area I'm sure is open to anyone anytime and you can check it all out on MI's DNR site or just search sliver lake. Evan

I and I think a lot of other people (especially since there are lots of spoof vids out about internet rape and all that) must be getting the feeling that the child molesting stuff is becoming the 21st centuries version of the witch hunt. Sure I think its a problem, but not "the problem" that media and some church groups (I can explain that further if necessary) are making it out to be. I think its kinda neat that we feel children are aged like say 0 to 18 maybe even 25 these days and some would extend that probably beyond 30, but thats far out. Less then 100 years ago (meaning only 2 generations for some of us people around 30) our grandparents were married and popping out kids at 15, 16, 17 on a regular basis. I've never checked the demographic info, but I'd almost bet that the current industrial world of the last 60-70 years is one of a few times in history when the adult age has been around 20 or so years. Well back on topic. I hope he didn't do it and if the courts decided he didn't do it then he probably really didn't since todays media really railroads anyone once child molester gets attached to their name. Evan

I'm trying to find the median automobile price nationwide, but google is failing me. Homes were easy the NAC site had everything I needed, but can't seem to find anything similar for cars. Any ideas? Evan

Those big box stores sell warranties owned by a 3rd party warranty company. Many of them are very shady businesses. When they said its your responsibility to check on parts they probably weren't joking. I have done warranty work for 3rd parties like that when I used to work on electronics and thats the way some of those companies do in fact operate. Most of them also end up not paying the guys that are actually doing the repair work and or go out of business and start up under different names a lot. Evan

I've always wanted to here why anyone would freak out if they knew there were aliens. I wouldn't give a shit either way since even if there were our governments would find a way to screw it up. Evan

You must still not understand that I'm on your side. I never meant those guys with CCW were gonna shoot up the bank. I was meaning those guys were arguing that they should be able to have a gun in the bank so that they could protect my wife. That basically wanted to be the lone ranger:-) Oh and Scotty nothing personal, but from a lot of the things on here that you've posted your the exact veteran that I would not want running around armed. Maybe I've read you wrong since its very easy to do from reading posts, but you seem pretty nuts sometimes. I know that I do too and I"m sure a lot of you wouldn't want me running around armed either. Here's a kinda cool point. Sure I might not find to many instances where CCW holders went trigger happy if any, but if lets say 20% of the population felt the need to CC. Attackers would obviously know they could run into potentially armed citizens and get hurt/killed while attempting a rape/robbery/whatever. Now if I were an attacker I wouldn't even bother giving you a chance to draw your weapon. I'd just stab you in the fucking eye and take your shit right off the bat. You up the ante for the criminals and some of them are gonna call your bluff. Also the 80% of the rest of the citizens now get to face a much more dangerous and hostile attacker since he knows he has got to be swift to be effective. I know I wouldn't give you the chance I'd just shoot first steal loot later. Evan

I know what your saying. I think more should be done about stupid people driving too, but I'll leave that for another topic someday. Evan
-
I agree here 100% and btw TRIPLE POST:-) Evan

Another point about the types that want to CC. My wife works as a manager at a 5/3 bank and she's had more than one person come into her bank and verbally attack her and attempt to argue with her about their "no weapons" sign on the door. Usually that person starts out with "this is BS I wanna be able to bring my gun in here so I can protect you if someone robs the place." Holy shit is this person stuck in a wild west movie or what? Its happened with 2 different people since the law when into effect and the signs when up. Those people I do not want having guns and she actually had to call the police to get one of the jerks to leave. Evan

If the gov did actually decide to take the guns you'd have no way to stop them. Just hide some and wait for the time to pass because your pathetic "insert the best gun you think you got" ain't gonna do jack when they want you stopped. Now of course this is a very extreme situation that I doubt could happen. I mean what would it really take for the gov to decide they will send out the whole army to go door to door and forcibly take all guns and to kill anyone resisting them. Furthermore you'd seriously get killed and possibly get your family killed for that right? People have lived for thousands of years in and out of laws like these and people move on and civilizations rise and fall with time. Hehe if your calling me an anti gun person then you really don't know my view. I feel we should be as equipped as any military. I'm the crazy fucker who doesn't care if a dog lives or dies remember? Not a liberal bone in my body, but I still agree with Eric that open carry can accomplish nearly the same thing as concealed carry. I do like the idea of knowing people could be concealing a firearm though. Makes it much less likely that some dumb ass will try and mug, or car jack me if the guy thinks I could have a gun. In all seriousness again most of the people I know that could carry are not people I want carrying because they ain't to smart and most are hot heads that get themselves in trouble without guns plenty. Evan
-
You all know I'm pretty right-wing. I agree with Eric's basic argument on CCW. Here are my views 1) I want everyone to be able to have guns (I feel we should be able to have any gun peroid.) 2) I don't think we as a population even with guns could stop the US military from taking them from us. Some of you that disagree are the exact people that shouldn't have guns. 3) I see nearly no reason to hide a gun on average people walking the streets. The people who want that right and would use that right are the exact people I feel should definitely not have that right. Stop and think about it for a minute those of you who want to carry a gun concealed either want A) to be cool having a gun on you B) for some reason believe that situations come up all the time where you need to have a weapon on you that an attacker can't see. In this case professional help should be sought and I don't feel these people could pass a mental evaluation on the subject. Believe me I love guns, but wouldn't want 99% of you guys having a fire fight in front of me or my family in a walmart to settle your fantasy of protecting the public with your huge penis err sorry gun:-) I believe more people than just some cops have "little man" syndrome. This website seems to have a lot of information. Forum is huge and full of knowledge. I use it to search for possible non-scam work at home jobs. http://www.wahm.com/ Evan
